Consideraciones taxonómicas de Callistochiton pulchellus (Gray, 1828) (Mollusca, Placophora) en Iquique, norte de Chile
Aguilera,Moisés A.;
Investigaciones marinas , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-71782005000200008
Abstract: information is presented on taxonomic traits of callistochiton pulchellus (gray, 1828) collected at thirteen sites between iquique (20°12's-70°09'w) and pabellón de pica (20°54's-70°08'w) in the north of chile. sampling sites were at least one km apart. the species was found at only three of the thirteen sampling sites (23%), and only underneath boulders sunken in sand. a new southern limit for this species was recorded in chanavayita, 54 km south of iquique. the most important characteristics of its habitat are presently discussed, as well as the the most relevant morphological differences of this species in comparison with calloplax vivipara (plate, 1902) which it closely resembles in form and tegmental ornamentation. c. pulchellus had a greater number of radial lines on the cephalic plate (? 12) than c. vivipara (? 9). it was also noted that the central plates in the former species were more rectangular than those of the latter species
Cirripedios en la dieta del molusco herbívoro Chiton granosus Frembly, 1827 (Mollusca, Placophora) presente en el intermareal rocoso de Iquique, norte de Chile
Aguilera,Moisés A;
Investigaciones marinas , 2005, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-71782005000100008
Abstract: preliminary quantitative information is given on the presence of barnacle cyprids and post-metamorphic stages in the diet of the molluscan grazer chiton granosus frembly 1827 (mollusca: placophora) sampled at iquique, chile. in december 2000, we observed the presence of barnacle cyprids and post-metamorphic stages at a high relative percentage of abundance (n = 30, 54,1% and 39,9%, respectively) and they were frequent in all of the individuals analyzed. moreover, a high frequency of ocurrence of cyprid larvae (f% = 67) was recorded in the distal portion of the intestine; of these larvae, 15 were observed with signs of vital activity (appendage movement) in 45% of all the stomachs analyzed. ingestion of barnacle cyprids and post-metamorphic stages was observed at a high frequency throughout the five months of the study (n = 10, 96% ± 6,5 and 78% ± 23,6)

POR EL BUEN ORDEN: EL DIARIO VIVIR EN CARTAGENA Y MOMPOX COLONIAL
Munive,Moisés;
Historia Crítica , 2004,
Abstract: during the hispanic colonial period, ufe in the city or in the pólice referred to the need for public and prívate control on the part of authorities in the lndian territories. it was a question of living together to the sound of the bell, congregated in an orderly manner, around or cióse to a church. likewise, the neighborhood not only exerted control over the neighbors, but over the authorities as well, in the defense of morality, justice, and the common good. the pólice fund of the general archive of the nation illustrates this point with respect to specific cases, either of violation or of fulfillment of the norms, and facilitates comprehension of the reasons for which the authorities were anxious to live out their lives on good terms in the city. good order was an everyday issuer, a question of daily ufe with a very broad field of action.

Gámez, Moisés;
América Latina en la historia económica , 2009,
Abstract: the paper shows the birth of the banking system in zacatecas. first it explain the foundations of the system by analyzing the role of informal agents, acting as intermediaries. second, the relationship between the early establishment of regional banks (before the 1897 law), the mining sector and the socioeconomic agents is explored, considering association strategies. finally, the following preliminary hypothesis is formulated: the mining sector stimulated the configuration of a banking system, which responded to its particular financial needs, improving the dynamics of financial transactions. furthermore, agents recognized by the state also show the history of socioeconomic networks.
A escolha democrática em perspectiva comparada
Moisés, José Alvaro;
Lua Nova: Revista de Cultura e Política , 1994, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-64451994000200003

Cidadania, confian?a e institui??es democráticas
Moisés, José álvaro;
Lua Nova: Revista de Cultura e Política , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-64452005000200004
Abstract: the article analyses three issues around the debate on the relationship between trust and democratic institutions: 1) what is the right approach to the concept of citizenship, considering the controversy between the classic liberal conception and the comunitarist one?; 2) what to say about the traditional democratic theories's premises, that we should expect from the citizens distrust rather than trust, if we want to keep political power in its proper limits; 3) if we admit trust, how our knowledge of it could be enhanced in seeing it as a many-dimensional, instead of one-dimensional, phenomenon?
Detección del hongo defoliador Phaeocryptopus gaeumannii en plantaciones de Pseudotsuga menziesii de Valdivia, Chile
Osorio O,Moisés;
Bosque (Valdivia) , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-92002007000100011
Abstract: a situation of abnormality in plantations of douglas-fir (pseudotsuga menziesii) in the environs of valdivia, chile, was reported, which motivated a sanitary prospection. stands of douglas-fir of 2 to 34 years old and seedlings of a nursery were analyzed. it was stated that in trees of all these ages the foliage showed variable symptoms, from the normal green colour, until the brown yellow. by means of a magnifying glass, numerous very small spherical structures of black colour on the underside of infected needles were observed, aligned throughout the stomatics bands, which altogether gave a blackish aspect or of soot. these structures were in needles of trees of all the prospected ages and all showed symptomatological range in them. in the most extreme cases, the crown of the trees presented defoliations, and only needles of the last vegetative period were present. the microscopic analyses allowed to determine that the structures corresponded to ascocarps (pseudothecia) of the phaeocryptopus gaeumannii fungus, recognized as pathogenic foliar of the douglas-fir. these meaning of the presence of this agent in the other regions of the world is reviewed and beginning of mutidisciplinary studies set out for chile to approach the problem is proposed.
Epidemiologia e servi?os de saúde
Goldbaum, Moisés;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 1996, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X1996000600010
Abstract: the growing application of epidemiological investigation to the health and medical field has consolidated its various uses in health care services. brazilian legislation now provides back-up for four different types of applications, although their implementation is still precarious: analysis of the health situation, epidemiological surveillance, etiological studies, and evaluation of health care services, programs, and technologies. proper deployment of such epidemiological applications on both the political/institutional and operational levels will provide relevant subsidies for health services in conducting their activities.
Os significados da democracia segundo os brasileiros
Moisés, José álvaro;
Opini?o Pública , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-62762010000200001
Abstract: 20 years after democracy was reestablished in brazil, brazilians give support to the democratic regime but distrust public institutions. the paper exams the meanings of democracy according to common people's answers to an open-end question: "what is democracy?", included in surveys undertaken by the author in 1989, 1990, 1993 and 2006. bivariate and multivariate statistical analyses were undertaken in order to advance the knowledge about the meanings of democracy, its determinants and the nature of the growing normative adherence to the democratic regime in the country. data has shown that brazilians define democracy in terms of liberties, freedom and institutional procedures; surprisingly the dimension relative to social benefits has no important impact on the results. both definitions, related to a normative and a pragmatic perspectives, are relevant for democratic consolidation and the quality of democracy, and are integral components of the democratic process.
