Stochastic modeling of the number of trees and the number of felled trees in selection stands
MitroviSlobodanka S.
Yugoslav Journal of Operations Research , 2004, DOI: 10.2298/yjor0401057m
Abstract: This paper solves the problem of forecasting the number of trees in the selection stands predicted for harvesting in a future period, so that the present resource of the number of trees is sustained. This is achieved by stochastic modeling of the number of trees and the number of felled trees and by solving the partial differential equation.
The possibilities of using group regression in the analysis of the diameter structure development in selection forests of Tara
MitroviSlobodanka S.,Bankovi? Stani?a
Glasnik ?umarskog Fakulteta , 2002, DOI: 10.2298/gsf0285079m
Abstract: Based on the presented study results, it can be concluded that the distribution of tree numbers per diameter degrees (diameter structure) in the four measurements of the compartments 51 and 75, did not change. It was also concluded that one functional dependence could be applied for both compartments N=e5,9·e–0,39*d The result of the above is that also in the following measurements, the diameter structure will remain unchanged, in cases of the same or similar selection cuttings both by the scope and by the distribution of felled trees per diameter classes The primary objective of this type of study is to predict, based on a mathematical model of diameter structure development, effect of the scope of selection cuttings and the number of recruitments on the diameter structure, and the simulation of growth, the distribution of trees per diameter classes in the following measurement or measurements, i.e. to foresee the future development of selection stands.

Medicinski Pregled , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/mpns1008570d
Abstract: Introduction. Synchronous, independent tumors are two or more tumors which appear independently from each other at the same moment. Metastatic tumors originate by disseminating malignant cells from other organs. Synchronous, primary malignities make 1.7% of all genitals malignities. Joined endometrial and ovarian carcinomas are found in 5% of cases. Presentation of a case. In this research, we present the case of an obese woman, 37 years old, who had associated endometrial tumors of uterus and ovary, without malign cells in peritoneal dilution, positive estrogen, negative progestine and focal expression of p53 receptors present in about 10-15% tumor cells. Discussion. This patient underwent the classic hysterectomy with reciprocal adnexectomy. After the operation, complete radial and hemiotheraphy was performed. The patient was without recurrence of the disease 30 months after the operation. The differentiation of primary independent synchronous and metastatic tumors is important not only for the prognosis, but also for the choice of the therapy. Conclusion. There are no reliable clinical and histological criteria for diagnoses. Most cases are most frequently regarded as higher stages.

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2013, DOI: 10.2298/vsp1302221b
Abstract: Introduction. Plasmacytomas are malignant tumors characterized by abnormal monoclonal proliferation of plasma cells. They originate in either bone - solitary osseous plasmacytoma, or in soft tissue - extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP). EMP represents less than 1% of all head and neck malignancies. Case report. We presented a case of EMP of the nasal septum in a 44-year-old male who had progressive difficulty in breathing through the nose and frequent heavy epistaxis on the right side. Nasal endoscopy showed dark red, soft, polypoid tumor in the last third of the right nasal cavity arising from the nasal septum. The biopsy showed that it was plasmacytoma. Bence Jones protein in the urine, serum electrophoresis, bone marrow biopsy, skeletal survey and other screening tests failed to detect multiple myeloma. This confirmed the diagnosis of EMP. The mass was completely removed via an endoscopic approach, and then, 4 week later, radiotherapy was conducted with a radiation dose of 50 Gray. No recurrence was noted in a 3-year follow- up period. Conclusion. EMP of the nasal cavity, being rare and having long natural history, represents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for any ear, nose and throat surgeon. Depending on the resectability of the lesion, a combined therapy is the accepted treatment.

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/vsp1001065s
Abstract: Background. In hemodialysis patients the most common cause of vascular access failure is neointimal hyperplasia of vascular smooth muscle cells at the venous anastomosis of arteriovenous fistulas. Case report. We presented a 76-year old patient who had developed fistula thrombosis without the presence of known risk factors the eighth day after the initial function. A histopathological finding pointed to a significant rate of neointimal proliferation, as an initial reasons for the fistula stenosis and trombosis. Conclusion. Early pathohistological changes observed in ateriovenous fistula dysfunction are response to hemodynamic changed conditions.
Ectopic mammary tissue in vulva

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2008, DOI: 10.2298/vsp0805407d
Abstract: Background. Ectopic mammary gland tissue is a residual tissue that persists during the embryologic development along ectodermal primitive milk streaks. Incomplete involution anywhere along the primitive milk streak can result in accessory or ectopic mammary tissue. Case report. A woman, 27-year old, admitted to Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic Kragujevac for surgery, of goose-egg size, vulva tumor, of elastic consistency. Menarche started in 12 years of age, with the regular menstrual cycle, without previous gynecological diseases. The woman had one pregnancy terminated by cesarean section because of the multiple (twin) pregnancy. Excision of the tumor was completely done in the total endotracheal anesthesia. Pathohistologic (PH) findings was: Dysplasia fibrosa cystica simplex mammae, with focuses of sclerosing adenosis. Expression of estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) were positive. Conclusion. Ectopic mammary tissue in vulva in adult period is very rarely seen, and can be changed pathologically as well as normally positioned breast tissue into benign cystic changes, benign tumors, adenomas and fibroadenomas and tumors. Cells with low ER/PR receptor level grow independently of estrogene stimulation and they could be resistant to hormonal therapy effects.

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/vsp1108639t
Abstract: Background/Aim. Drug abuse remains a significant social problem in many countries. The aim of the study was to estimate association between pulmonary histopathological changes and results of toxicological analyses in forensic autopsies of illicit drug users. Methods. This investigation was performed in the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Belgrade, and in the Clinical Center, Department of Forensic Medicine, Kragujevac, from 2000 to 2004, and included 63 medicolegal autopsies of heroin or other drug consumers who suddenly died. Autopsies, postmortem toxicological examination of drugs and serological analyses of anti- HIV/HBV/HCV antibodies were performed. Results. The deceased persons were mostly male, 46/63 (73.01%), ranged in age from 19 to 49 years (mean 31 years) and all were whites. Postmortem toxicological examination was performed on all of the deceased persons and drugs in the fatal range were identified in only eight of them (12.7%), in the toxic range in ten (15.87%), and in minimal concentrations in 35 (55.56%) of the deceased persons. Drugs identified in the fatal, toxic or minimal range included heroin-morphine (38/53), cocaine (4/53), tramadol (3/53), and lorazepam (1/53). In the 7 remaining subjects, ethanol in combination with heroin was found in 4 cases, and diazepam in combination with heroin in 3 cases. Dominant pathomorphological changes were findings in the lung tissue. Most common histological changes observed in drug users were pulmonary edema - 55/63 (87.3%), acute alveolar hemorrhages - 49/63 (77.78%), hemosiderin-laden macrophages (siderophages) - 52/63 (82,54%), and emphysematous changes - 51/63 (80,95%). Conclusion. Pulmonary edema is the frequent non-specific autopsy finding which is associated with virtually all routes of drug administration. The histopatological study is necessary to determinate a cause of death when a deceased person has the history of dependence or abouse of psychoactive drugs with negative toxicological results.

Archives of Biological Sciences , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/abs1003547d
Abstract: Endometriosis is a clinical disorder defined by the presence of functional endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. Depending on the localization of the endometrial tissue related to the pelvis, the endometriosis can be classified either as intrinsic or extrinsic. The prevalence of endometriosis is difficult to determine. Statistical data show that endometriosis could be associated both with female infertility (20%) and pelvic pains (24%), while in 4.1% of affected women, endometriosis has asymptomatic forms. The total prevalence of endometriosis is estimated to be between 5-10%. A 35-year-old woman from Knic, Serbia, was admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the Clinical Center in Kragujevac for surgical treatment of a suspicious swelling in the pubic region. Following surgical intervention, a nut-sized tumor was removed and sent for both pathohistological and immunohistochemical analysis. The results confirmed the presence of subcutaneous endometriosis positive for both estrogen and progesterone receptors. Endometriosis is usually described as a steroid hormone-dependent change that resembles the eutopic endometrial tissue characteristic for the presence of both glandular and stromal tissues. Given the fact that endometrial lesions are estrogen-dependent tumors, a crucial factor in the development of endometriosis is a late exposure to the hormone, mostly estrogen. Spontaneous subcutaneous endometriosis is rarely observed, but it could be assumed if there is recurrent pelvic pain which intensifies during menstruation. Given the fact that endometriosis coexists with different autoimmune diseases, multidisciplinary approaches are required for its proper diagnosis. .

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2009, DOI: 10.2298/vsp0911909m
Abstract: Background. Giant dumbbell-shaped tumors are very rare and characterized by intra- and extraspinal propagation of different dimensions. In thoracal localization, invasive growth can lead up to rib and vertebra erosion. Case report. We presented a 54-year-old woman with a giant dumbbell schwannoma in the posterior mediastinum. The tumor was removed by the posterior approach with hemilaminectomy and costotransversectomy. By microscopic examination the diagnosis of benign schwannoma was made. A year after the surgery, the patient was without neurological deficiency and without radiological signs of illness relapse. Conclusion. Treatment of dumbbell schwannoma is surgical, dilemmas of the optimal surgical approach. When it is thoracally located the posterior approach with hemilaminectomy and costotransversectomy is safe and effective for its removal.
