Abstract: this article discusses the terms in which cicero, lucretius and diogenes laertius sought to make sense of the prólêpsis of epicurus. to give voice to and to divulge among latin speakers the doctrine of epicureanism, cicero furnished the terms antecipatio, praenotio, and informationem, and lucretius provided notitia, exemplare, and vestiga. diogenes laertius presented the terms katalêpsis, dóxa, énnoia, and hypólêpsin, with which, he says, the epicureans tried to explain the prólêpsis of epicurus. the article also discusses the views of some contemporary commentators.
Plat?o e alguns mitos que lhe atribuímos
Spinelli, Miguel;
Trans/Form/A??o , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31732007000100013
Abstract: it is not the aim of this paper to investigate the myths which plato invented, but to inquire into those which (in the attempt to interpret his works) were invented about him: claims which were attributed to him without being his own, and other beliefs which were held to be justified and supported by his claims. two of these myths are analized with maior emphasis: first, that "plato made the body an enemy of the soul"; second, that "plato rejected sensible perception".
Epicuro e o tema da amizade: a philía vinculada ao ér s da tradi o e ao êthos cívico da pólis
Miguel Spinelli
Princípios : Revista de Filosofia , 2011,
Abstract: Central to the so-called ethical doctrine of Epicurus, the theme of friendship in this paper is analyzed under three aspects: a) in regards to its link to the traditional principles (the so-called golden rule) with which several cultures have sought to govern friendly relations; b) how Epicurus, in a sense different from that of Plato’s Academy took to the Garden the practice of philía as a test for reconstituting the pólis; c) how the concept of utility (the opheleía) is linked to interest and reciprocity.
O projeto da Grande Instaura o de Francis Bacon e por que Kant lhe dedicou a Crítica =Francis Bacon’s project of the Instauratio Magna, and why Kant dedicated the Critique to him
Spinelli, Miguel
Veritas , 2010,
The major aim of this article consists in ascertaining the reasons which drove Bacon to compose what he called Instauratio Magna: a great institution of the future science in terms of an broad restoration of the past of science. It brings an exposition of his project (of what he meant to do) in contradistinction to what he effectively accomplished. Considering that Kant dedicated to Bacon his Critique of Pure Reason, it is also an imperative concern of this article to search for the reasons of this dedication.

Análise Psicológica , 2006,
Abstract: this paper provides an introductory overview of the key ideas that underpin existential psychotherapy from the primary focus of inter-relation. further, it introduces various applications regarding the investigation of the inter-relational variables that accentuate the client?s experience of being-in-the world and considers these in relation to the analysis of the client?s presenting problems and issues. finally, the paper argues that in the existential psychotherapeutic relationship the therapist can be likened to a particular and unique "other" in the client?s world relations.
Las dimensiones del campo de la salud en Argentina
Salud Colectiva , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1851-82652010000300004
Abstract: this text explores the composition of the health field, its agents and the capitals at play, as well as epidemiological profiles and problems and challenges facing workers, administrators, and government officials. we also look into the existence of policies and metapolicies, highlighting the normative character of policies that impede critical reflections by actor-agents and patients and thereby reaffirm an instrumental rationalism. finally, and with the purpose of exploring new organizational forms in the field, we investigate the terrain of metapolicies through an analysis of the work, the organization, the administration, and the government as possible dimensions through which to enable the creation of new actors and/or structures, irrespective of the actual "policies". the overall aim of the text is to consider the current situation in the health field, in the context of the south, in relation to possible emancipatory actions.
