Quando a violência infanto-juvenil indaga a pedagogia
González Arroyo, Miguel;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302007000300008
Abstract: this text proposes to raise some questions emerging from one of the most worrying features of present days: violence and, more particularly, child and youth violence, which bothers and questions society and pedagogy, research, the theoretical reflection and the educational practice. the paper focuses on some points: is the category "violent" imposing itself as a new segregating parameter in society and in schools? are the progresses made in the conformation of the public and of school as a public space being questioned? are the reactions to violence showing the weakness of proclaiming education as a right for all? and the weakness of recognizing children and teenagers as subjects of rights? it also highlights that the reactions to child and youth violence places again the traditional dispute for the imaginary on the people and on popular children and teenagers. each of these features sends us questions for pedagogy.

Arroyo, Miguel G.;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73301999000300008
Abstract: the cycles aren't an isolated proposal any longer, the new ldb legitimated them and they are being adopted by many school nets. this text asks itself about the kind of professional that is being formed in this such kind of pedagogical work organisation. the reflection is structured in 2 parts. the first reflects on the upbringing of thinking over the conceptions and formation practices that take place in the implementation of cycles. the 2nd part reflects about the virtualities that form the whole process of not building the structure centres in the temporalities or human development cycles.
Políticas educacionais e desigualdades: à procura de novos significados
Arroyo, Miguel G.;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302010000400017
Abstract: this paper highlights how educational policies have been motivated by attempts to fight inequalities. however, since they focus on intraschool inequalities, such policies and their analyses are impoverished. yet they are enriched since they progress in the understanding of the historical processes of production-reproduction of social inequalities. this text is faced with some questions: what should change in the policy formulation and analyses when inequalities have a new quality? when collectives made so unequal affirm themselves as policy subjects. in this new framework, this paper advances wondering how the state is thought and how collectives made unequal are thought. what is the new role of the state and of its policies in the management-control of the processes of political affirmation of these collectives? are we heading to the refoundation of the state and of the policies?
Políticas de forma??o de educadores(as) do campo
Arroyo, Miguel Gonzalez;
Cadernos CEDES , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-32622007000200004
Abstract: the rural social movements have included two basic points in the political agenda of governments, society and training courses: the right to education of rural groups and the urgent need to implement public policies that guarantee such a basic right. social movements are accumulating experiences from training courses in partnership with regular schools and pedagogy courses, to obtain educators able to work within the social and cultural specificities of people living in rural areas. we intend to go over the construction of such remarkable experiences to interpret the meaning within the actual context in order to postulate elements that allow the formulation of policies for training educators for rural schools. we also intend to bring forth issues for research and particularly for curricular proposals regarding training courses that actually train educators and guarantee the right to education of people living in rural areas.

La carrera professional i l’avaluació de l’acompliment dels funcionaris públics - The Professional Career Path and Performance Evaluation among Civil Servants - La carrera profesional y la evaluación del desempe o de los funcionarios públicos
Luis Miguel Arroyo Nanes
The treatment of the professional career path and performance evaluation of civil servants occupy a central position in the program of reforms addressed by the Basic Statute for Public Employees. These elements constitute axes for change and renovation for the entire Spanish civil service. The professional career path, in contradistinction to the previous basic legislation, now takes on the key role it should never have relinquished. This research paper focuses exclusively on its dynamic aspects. Nevertheless, if in addition to the dynamic aspects of the professional career path, we consider its structural issues, it becomes evident that it is truly the backbone of the civil service system, without which it is impossible to understand the system’s essence, achievements, and limitations.The performance evaluation is a new, completely unknown instrument, riddled with unknowns. It figures to be a vehicle that will enable the evaluation and assessment of professional conduct and employees′ performance or results, and it has enormous potential for influencing very important aspects of the life of civil servants (career path, compensation, training, etc.).
Arroyo,Santiago; Tovar,Luis Miguel;
Desarrollo y Sociedad , 2009,
Abstract: this paper aims to analyze the determinants that influenced the probability of access to the contributive health regime in 2006, for colombian rural migrant population. in order to do this it estimates a logit model, and it uses data from the continuous survey of households carried out by the national administrative department of statistics (dane). the model includes regressors such as sex, age, marital status, head of household, education, education of the head of household, and reasons to migrate. all of the variables included were significant. according to the findings, achieving more years of education, being male, and being married or in common law marriage, have a positive effect on the probability of being affiliated to the contributive regime. on the other hand, an increase of age, being head of household or having migrated for involuntary reasons, negatively affects the probability of having access to the contributive regime for migrant people in the rural areas.
Deriving Value in Digital Media Networks
Miguel Morales-Arroyo,Ravi S. Sharma
International Journal of Computer Science and Security , 2009,
Abstract: This paper presents a framework for the analyzing revenue distribution in the delivery of digital content such as music, movies, games, books, and news. In such content delivery networks, there are various roles played by producers, consumers, syndicators, aggregators and distributors in the marketplace. We outline a framework for business modeling known as VISOR and adapt some ideas from game theory in order to investigate notions of efficiency and fairness in the digital media eco-system. This framework suggests that the revenue distribution within a business model is determined by the range between producers’ cost of production and consumers’ willingness to pay. The allocation of these revenues among the players is in turn determined by their value capacity which is a function of the interface for content, service platform, organizing model and revenue streams. The game-theoretic notions of fairness and efficiency are introduced as a strategy for stability in the workplace. The paper concludes that stability is the key to derivative value in a digital media network.

Good clinical and cost outcomes using dexrazoxane to treat accidental epirubicin extravasation
Arroyo Patricia,Perez Ruth,Feijoo Maria,Hernandez Miguel
Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics , 2010,
Abstract: A 75-year-old man diagnosed with lower esophageal adenocarcinoma suffered from epirubicin extravasation during the second cycle of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with epirubicin and oxaliplatin. A full recovery was achieved after treatment with dexrazoxane (Cardioxane ). This is the first time in our hospital that extravasation of an anthracycline has been treated with dexrazoxane. We used Cardioxane , approved for the prevention of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, while Savene is indicated for the treatment of anthracycline extravasation. The treatment was effective, and the selection of Cardioxane (seven-fold cheaper than Savene ) yielded a cost saving. Consequently, Cardioxane has been included in our guidelines for anthracycline extravasation.
