Abstract: skin tests require extracts with high quality, which can be measured by determining their allergenic potency using different concentrations of extracts from a manufacturer or comparing extracts from different manufacturers. to compare dust mite extracts produced by manufacturers from spain, argentina, and cuba by using the skin response to the prick test. the prick test was performed on 26 patients aged 2 to 15 years with asthma and rhinitis at the city of camagüey, cuba, with extracts of dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, d. farinae, d. siboney and blomia tropicalis produced by diater (argentina), alk- abelló (spain) y biocen (cuba). among the patients 84.6% attributed the symptoms to changes in weather and house dust. the diameter of the wheal was apparently greater for alk-abelló, but no statistical significance was found. the relationship between wheal diameter and log of allergen concentration with biocen products showed a linear dependence in the concentration in the range of 4000 to 100000 ub/ml. prick tests with diameters ??3 mm suggested a greater proportion for alk than for diater and biocen, particularly with d. pteronyssinus and d. farinae, although no statistical significance was found again. dust mite extracts produced and standardized by diater, alk-abelló and biocen are similar with respect to allergenic potency.
STATISTICAL AND COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EDUCATION IN MELILLA (SPAIN)

Revista Investigación Operacional , 2009,
Abstract: We describe the main results obtained in a statistical study carried out at the request of the Economy,Employment and Tourism Council of Melilla (Spain). These results were used in drawing up the firstphase of the Strategic Plan: Diagnosis and Analysis of the Situation of Melilla. The data analyzed wereobtained from the National Educational Council, the Ministry of Education and Science and the SpanishNational Institute of Statistics (INE), and the conclusions reached are set out in the present article. Forpurposes of comparison, we also made a comprehensive analysis of the real situation of the populationin the education sector, including a comparative study of Ceuta (Spain). These two Spanish enclaves inthe north of Africa in general present similar characteristics.

Miguel ángel Mata Salazar,Claudio Escobar Cruz
Two agronomical aspects of Tagetes terniflora HBK for essential oil production  [PDF]

Journal of Agricultural Chemistry and Environment (JACEN) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jacen.2014.31002
Abstract: The genus Tagetes is a possible source of essential oils for the biorational control of pests and diseases in Mexico. The aim of the present study was to assess the distance between plants (PD; 15 × 80, 30 × 80 and 60 × 80 cm) and urea fertilization (0, 60 and 120 kg·he-1 N) for biomass production and essential oil in Tagetes terniflora HBK. Oil was obtained by the aerial part hydro-distillation and its chemical composition was analyzed by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Factors N, PD and their interaction did not change plant height or the number of branches per plant; however, PD factor modified fresh tissue (FW) and dry tissue (DW) weights and the amount of oil per plant (p ≤ 0.05) which represent a good biomass production (30 to 72.5 ton·he-1 FW, 11 to 27 ton·he-1 DW) and oil producing (168 to 383 L·he-1 ) potential in the field. Urea did not have effect on both biomass and oil response per plant but interaction of 15 x 80 DP and 120 N could favor higher biomass and oil production potential (78 ton FW, 28 ton·he-1 DW and 608 L·he-1 , respectively). Essential oil yield varied from 0.3 to 2.1% according to the management conditions. A total of 11 major compounds were identified in essential oil, the relative quantity was constant in different agronomic management factors: E- tagetone (22%), cistagetenone (20.4%), transtagetenone (20.4%), dihydrotagetone (13.4%) and cis-β-ocimene (10.3%), trans-β-ocimene (5.0%), propenyl anisole (4.3%), sphatulenole (1.1%), allyl anisole (0.7%), Z-tagetone (0.5%) and limonene (0.5%).

Journal of Environmental Protection (JEP) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jep.2015.61009
Abstract: The results of dispersion modeling of carbon monoxide are reported in this paper. The results of applying the technique of Rapid Assessment of Sources of Environmental Pollution (RASEP) database and the Air Monitoring State System in the City of Puebla, México, were employed. Concentrations of carbon monoxide emitted by cars inferred by RASAP technique with those reported by the environmental monitoring station “Nymphs”, were compared. The date of 21 June 2005-2010 was selected during the peak hour traffic flow. The dispersion of carbon monoxide was modeled by software DISPER and SCRI software, in order to infer the exposure levels of carbon monoxide in the study area. The estimated and monitored concentrations were evaluated with the Mexican regulations for population’s health protection. Regarding the dispersion model, SCRI was discarded for the target validation because it only allows modeling on specific areas. Moreover, the modeling software allowed DISPER simulations with linear sources of car exhaust, so this advantage is considered appropriate to continue using this program. Both estimates obtained by RASEP, as modeled by DISPER and recorded by the monitoring system exceed the maximum permissible limits of NOM-021-SSA1-1993 getting an impermissible for the area of influence of the assessment monitoring station. The DISPER software has potential use for such evaluations, but more work is required on the system for their inferences can be validated by reproducible physical and chemical measurements.
