This document consisting of 9 maps provides valuable information about the number and ethnic content of peoples living in the South Caucasus, including Kars in 80-90s of the XIX century. Altogether 1306306 Turks were living in South Caucasus that 730860 were men and 575446 women out of which 1139659 people were Azerbaijani Turks, 70226 were the Turks, 8893 Turkmens, 24134 were Qarapapaqlis, 2556 were Nogays, 60838 people were Kumyks. “The map of Kars province providing the district, police areas and the boundaries of village communities” is valuable in terms of studying the ethnic, religious and number composition of the people of Kars area. Due to the Russian Empire’s Christianization policy at end of the XIX century the number of Christian population in the South Caucasus was artificially increased than in the beginning of the century. However, at the end of the XIX century again Muslims (especially the Turkic peoples) were predominant in the South Caucasus.
Effect of sorbitol in callus induction and plant regeneration in wheat
M Hassan, Z Ahmed, M Munir, SI Malik, K Shahzad
African Journal of Biotechnology , 2009,
Abstract: Six wheat genotypes were evaluated for their response to callus induction and regeneration on MS medium modified with different concentrations of sorbitol, that is, 0, 10, 20, 30 gL-1 along with optimum (3 mgL-1) concentration of 2,4-D. Variability was observed among different genotypes for callus induction. Highest callus induction frequency was shown by Wafaq- 2001, which was about 85.62% followed by Inqalab-91 which showed 71.94% callus induction. While minimum callus induction frequency was shown by Saleem-2000 which was about 51.21%. Regarding sorbitol concentration highest average callus induction frequency (79.20%) was obtained at 20 gL-1 and lowest average callus induction frequency (59.20%) was observed at 30 gL-1. In Wafaq-2001 and Inqalab-91 plant regeneration increased gradually by increasing the sorbitol concentration from 0 to 20 gL-1 but then it decreased. Similarly Auqab-2002 had no regeneration al all on non-sorbitol medium but showed regeneration on addition of sorbitol. Similarly time duration required for plant regeneration also decreased by increasing the concentration of sorbitol. It was also observed that sorbitol has given more strength to regenerated plant.
Influence of Virus Strain on the Efficacy of Vaccine Against Avian Influenza Virus Subtype H7N3
S. Sattar,K. Naeem,Z. Ahmed,S.A. Malik
International Journal of Poultry Science , 2007,
Abstract: To evaluate the effect of in ovo passaging on the biological activity and immunogenicity of various H7N3 Avian Influenza Virus (AIV) isolates, three field H7N3 isolates (A/Chicken/Pakistan/Murree/NARC/69/04 (H7N3); A/Chicken/Pakistan/Rawalpindi/NARC/160/04 (H7N3); A/Chicken/Mansehra/NARC-214/04 (H7N3)) from the outbreak of 2003-04 were propagated in ovo up to 30th passage. After each 10 passages, the isolates were inactivated, injected into 10 days old chicks subcutaneously and seroconversion monitored by Haemagglutination Inhibition (HI) test. The vaccinated chicks were then challenged with the corresponding virus isolate and the mortality and virus shedding was recorded post-challenge. The results showed that the isolate A/Chicken/Murree/NARC-69/04 (H7N3) was relatively more immunogenic since the vaccinated chicks produced the highest HI antibody titers than the chicks inoculated with the other two strains of H7N3 AIV. The virus shedding upon challenge was also lowest in chickens in this group. On the contrary, the isolate A/Chicken/Mansehra/NARC-214/04 (H7N3) was less immunogenic despite repeated passaging up to 20th passage, however, the antibody titers did increase after 30th passage. The virus recovery from organs was minimal in group given vaccine prepared from Murree isolate and highest for Mansehra isolate. No mortality was observed in any of the vaccinated and challenged group of any combination in this study. This study therefore identified the Murree isolate (A/Chicken/Pakistan/Murree/NARC/69/04) as a better candidate for vaccine preparation among the currently circulating H7N3 isolates in Pakistan. The results of this study imply that a careful assessment of the vaccine potential of an isolate must be made in meeting defined vaccine strain criteria before including that isolate in vaccine production chain.
THE SOURCES INFLUENCED OSMAN TüRKAY
Elmira MEMMEDOVA
Zeitschrift für die Welt der Türken , 2010,
Abstract: Osman Türkay, wrote his works being influenced by world mythologies, as well as the classic Turkish poets like Mevlana, Yunus Emre, and contemporary Turkish and English poets. As it is known, the poetry of Osman Türkay is divided into two stages. In the first stage, he wrote works under the influence of Turkish poets like Yahya Kemal Beyatl and Ahmet Ha im in the symbolist manner. In the second stage of Osman Türkay poetry, he was under the influence of well-known poets like Naz m Hikmet and indirectly Mayakovski, Orhan Veli, Melih Cevdet Anday. His work of “Song of mutineers” bears some features of the poem of Naz m Hikmet “Song of Sun Drinkers”. In addition, Türkay himself stressed his learning the technique of poem writing from Thomas Elliot, Dylan Thomas and employing varying poetic forms. In some of his poems one can notice the influence of “The Waste Land” by Thomas Elliot.
The Attitude of United Nations Toward Armenian Aggression
Havva Memmedova
Journal of Gazi Academic View , 2009,
Abstract: United Nations Organization has not identified never Armenia as an invader. Extending their own land territories against Turkey and Azerbaijan, “Great Armenia from the sea to sea” to the state constitution with the purpose to realize dream of Armenians starting in 1988 turned the chaos into a large-scale war. Armenia has occupied %20 of Azerbaijan before 1992-1993. In the war, 30 thousand have been killed and more than 200 thousand Azerbaijani very hurt, more than 1 million have been forced to migrate from its own homeland. World’s most influential organization, UNO accepted four decree but none of them have not been fulfilled. United Nations Security Council tolerate occupation definitely Armenia has not been never named as invaders. This is considerable injustice.

Genetics and Molecular Biology , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-47572007000300018
Abstract: a diallel analysis of wheat (triticum aestivum l. em. thell) parents (n = 11) and their f1 (n = 55) and f2 (n = 55) offspring was carried out for the following four traits: grain filling duration (gfd), gfd for growing degree days (gdd), 1000 seed weight and seed yield per plant. analysis of variance for general combining ability (gca) and specific combining ability (sca) displayed significant f1 and f2 general and specific combining ability effects for the four traits studied. for all the traits the gca effects were relatively more important than the sca effects, indicating that additive genetic effects were predominant. crosses displaying high sca effects for grain filling duration, seed weight and yield were observed to be derived from parents having various types of gca effects (high x high, high x low, low x low and medium x low). the single seed descent method can be applied to exploit additive gene effects whereas dominance gene effects could be valuable in hybrid wheat breeding programs. among the parents, genotypes from the international maize and wheat improvement center (centro internacional de mejoramiento de maíz y trigo, cimmyt) as well as south asia were found to be superior general combiners for grain filling duration. likewise, crosses involving diverse parents from cimmyt and south asia showed significant sca effects for grain filling duration and other traits.

Pakistan Journal of Biological Sciences , 2004,
Abstract: Experiment was conducted at Agriculture University Peshawar, Pakistan to study the effect of seed storage containers on the emergence and healthy seedling of soybean (cv. Lee) under field conditions. The treatments were cloth bags, plastic bags, gunny bags, pitchers, tin cans, pods and refrigerator. Each treatment was replicated three times in randomized complete block design. Data revealed that field emergence was significantly different for sampling dates as well as storage containers. Seed emergence was greater in early sowing crop and seed stored in pods and refrigerator respectively. Further data demonstrated that storage containers were significantly affected the percentage of healthy seedlings. The seed stored in pods and refrigerators had 51.6 and 52.8% healthy seedlings respectively.

Muhammad Sarfraz, Malik Z. Hussain, Munazah Ishaq
Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2013.63B015
Abstract: This paper contributes towards modeling for the designing of objects in the areas of Computer Graphics (CG), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE). It provides a modeling technique for the designing of objects. The model is based on a conic-like curve (rational quadratics) method and provides an extra degree of freedom to the user to fine tune the shape of the design to the satisfactory level. The 2D curve model has then been extended for the designing of 3D objects to produce fancy objects. The scheme has been also extended to automate the degree of freedom when a reverse engineering is required for images of the objects. A heuristic technique of genetic algorithm is applied to find optimal values of shape parameters in the description of conics.
