Contribution to the Knowledge of the Genus Linda Thomson, 1864 (Part I), with the Description of Linda (Linda) subatricornis n. sp. from China (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae)

Abstract: Linda (Linda) subatricornis n. sp is described from Sichuan (holotype locality), Fujian, Shaanxi, Hebei, Ningxia of China. It is separated from the most similar species L. atricornis Pic by differences in genitalia and antennal insertions. Detailed descriptions, photographs of habitus and genitalia, distribution of the two sibling species and short discussion on the related species are presented. 1. Introduction Linda Thomson, 1864 [1], includes two subgenera, Linda and Dasylinda, mostly confined to China [2]. While studying more than 150 specimens of Linda (Linda) atricornis Pic from different localities, we were surprised to observe two very different kinds of male genitalia. We concluded that two superficially similar species have been historically misidentified as one species. We had examined the types of L. atricornis, L. gracilicornis, L. major (the three known species of subgenus Linda with elytra and antennae all black), and most of the other species of this genus. After careful observation and dissection, we separate L. subatricornis n. sp. and herein describe it as new to science. 2. A Study of Taiwan Universities’ Intention and Behavior to Use Library 2.0

Abstract: With the development of information technology, increasing prevalence of the internet, the emergence of Web 2.0 has allowed users to access an increasing amount of information on the Web. In the present social environment, libraries play the role as an information provider. This study based on technology acceptance model and innovation diffusion theory to survey Library 2.0 applications in Taiwan’s university libraries. Results showed that most of the respondents hold a positive attitude toward Library 2.0, and their attitude has positive influence on their intention to use them. Besides, if perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trialibility, and observability can be emphasized during promotion of the systems, users’ intention to use the systems can be effectively increased. Through the above findings, this study attempted to provide a reference for libraries planning to introduce Library 2.0 in the future.
PKC-Dependent Human Monocyte Adhesion Requires AMPK and Syk Activation

Abstract: PKC plays a pivotal role in mediating monocyte adhesion; however, the underlying mechanisms of PKC-mediated cell adhesion are still unclear. In this study, we elucidated the signaling network of phorbol ester PMA-stimulated human monocyte adhesion. Our results with pharmacological inhibitors suggested the involvement of AMPK, Syk, Src and ERK in PKC-dependent adhesion of THP-1 monocytes to culture plates. Biochemical analysis further confirmed the ability of PMA to activate these kinases, as well as the involvement of AMPK-Syk-Src signaling in this event. Direct protein interaction between AMPK and Syk, which requires the kinase domain of AMPK and linker region of Syk, was observed following PMA stimulation. Notably, we identified Syk as a novel downstream target of AMPK; AICAR can induce Syk phosphorylation at Ser178 and activation of this kinase. However, activation of AMPK alone, either by stimulation with AICAR or by overexpression, is not sufficient to induce monocyte adhesion. Studies further demonstrated that PKC-mediated ERK signaling independent of AMPK activation is also involved in cell adhesion. Moreover, AMPK, Syk, Src and ERK signaling were also required for PMA to induce THP-1 cell adhesion to endothelial cells as well as to induce adhesion response of human primary monocytes. Taken together, we propose a bifurcated kinase signaling pathway involved in PMA-mediated adhesion of monocytes. PKC can activate LKB1/AMPK, leading to phosphorylation and activation of Syk, and subsequent activation of Src and FAK. In addition, PKC-dependent ERK activation induces a coordinated signal for cytoskeleton rearrangement and cell adhesion. For the first time we demonstrate Syk as a novel substrate target of AMPK, and shed new light on the role of AMPK in monocyte adhesion, in addition to its well identified functions in energy homeostasis.
Attenuation of circulatory shock and cerebral ischemia injury in heat stroke by combination treatment with dexamethasone and hydroxyethyl starch

Abstract: Urethane-anesthetized rats underwent instrumentation for the measurement of colonic temperature, mean arterial pressure (MAP), local striatal cerebral blood flow (CBF), heart rate, and neuronal damage score. The rats were exposed to an ambient temperature (43 degrees centigrade) to induce heat stroke. Concentrations of the ischemic and damage markers, dopamine, serotonin, and hydroxyl radical productions in corpus striatum, and the serum levels of interleukin-1 beta, tumor necrosis factor-alpha and malondialdehyde (MDA) were observed during heat stroke.After heat stroke, the rats displayed circulatory shock (arterial hypotension), decreased CBF, increased the serum levels of cytokines and MDA, increased cerebral striatal monoamines and hydroxyl radical productions release, and severe cerebral ischemia and neuronal damage compared with those of normothermic control rats. However, immediate treatment with the combined agent at the onset of heat stroke confers significant protection against heat stroke-induced circulatory shock, systemic inflammation; cerebral ischemia, cerebral monoamines and hydroxyl radical production overload, and improves neuronal damage and the ST in rats.Our results suggest that the combination of a colloid substance with a volume-expanding effect and an anti-inflammatory agent may provide a better resuscitation solution for victims with heat stroke.Unless immediately recognized and treated, heat stroke is often lethal, and victims who do survive may sustain permanent neurological damage [1]. The clinical diagnosis of heat stroke is demonstrated when hyperthermia is accompanied with circulatory shock (arterial hypotension), intracranial hypertension, and cerebral ischemia and injury [2,3]. Abstract: We employed self-administered questionnaires to collect research data and select new nurses from three regional hospitals as samples in Taiwan. In all, 306 nurse samples were obtained. We adopted a multiple regression analysis to test the impact of the mentoring functions.Results revealed that career development and role modeling functions have positive effects on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of new nurses; however, the psychosocial support function was incapable of providing adequate explanation for these work outcomes.It is suggested in this study that nurse managers should improve the career development and role modeling functions of mentoring in order to enhance the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of new nurses.Nurse turnover and turnover intent have received considerable worldwide attention because of their influence on patient safety and health outcomes. The turnover intent among new nurses is often higher than that among senior nurses[1]. Nurse turnover in the first year of practice ranges between 35% and 60%[2]. With the high turnover incidence among new nurses, it is imperative that retention strategies be effective and that these strategies be examined closely. When new nurses perform their duties in hospitals, they often have little or no experience in clinical nursing but they are required to bear full responsibility of patient care. Owing to limited clinical skills, experience, and full responsibility of patient care, new nurses would often bear heavy work pressure. Work pressure and nurse attitudes toward jobs have significant impact on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among hospital nurses [3-5]. Researches from various countries have confirmed that job satisfaction and organizational commitment are statistically significant predictors of nurse absenteeism or turnover, or their intent to quit[1,6,7]. Abstract: About 1 079 standardization transformation projects of live pig breeding farms in Hunan Province were surveyed in this research. The survey covered the farms authorized by the National Reform Commission and Agriculture Ministry. And the desire for standardization transformation and investment of live pig breeding farms was discussed. From the survey, the priority sequence of standardization transformation desire based on supply condition is as flows: transformation and expansion of pig bed, establishment of epidemic prevention system, construction of waste treatment facility, methane tank construction and introducing of improved variety. The desire for standardization transformation is different for different regions or production scales of the farms. 96.8% of large-scale breeding farms have the will to transform and expand pig bed, however, about 50% have the desire to establish epidemic prevention system, waste treatment or methane tank facilities. Another 92.2% of large-scale breeders in Dongting Lake area favour methane trunk construction. The bigger the scale of live pig breeding farms, the stronger is the desire for standardization transformation. Standardization transformation is keen in communities with competitive live pig industries. Medium- and small-scale breeders and breeding farms in main industry area are enthusiastic about transforming their farms with self-financing in addition to national investment.

Abstract: Based on adiabatic passage, we propose a scheme for implementing the quantum transfer of an unknown atomic state. In our scheme, we utilize photons for ideal quantum transmission between two cavities with the successful probability being about 1. Meanwhile, the scheme is robust against the effects of atomic spontaneous emission. It may be useful for transferring quantum information among spatially distant atoms.
The Impact of Leisure Agriculture on Package Group Tours: A China’s New Tourism Laws Perspective  [PDF]

Abstract:
In recent years, China’s package group tours have a strong consumption capacity, which is conducive to the integration of various industries. In particular, package group tours in leisure agriculture are different from traditional tourism development and package group tours are developing rapidly. Among them, leisure agriculture in the context of collective tourism is conducive to market demand, and on the other hand, it becomes a new type of agricultural production and tourism and tourism because of the needs of rural economic development. However, since the implementation of the “New Tourism Laws” in China in 2013, travel agencies have been banned from arranging shopping trips, which will have an impact on the development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism. Through literature review, this study analyzes the significance of developing leisure agriculture in the context of current package group tours in China. According to the typical case analysis of rural tourism in China, we found the main problems of the new tourism laws in the process of China’s leisure agricultural tourism planning, as a mirror for the future development of leisure agriculture. This study also proposes countermeasures and suggestions for the future development path of China’s leisure agriculture under the new tourism laws.

Abstract: 本研究对菌株H41-38发酵生产星形孢菌素的工艺进行了研究。结果表明: 30?C、96 h为菌株摇瓶培养最适条件。玉米淀粉和酵母粉为最适碳、氮源。采用Fractional factorial design方法确定培养基成分的重要因子: 酵母粉和粗盐, 然后利用爬坡路径试验和响应面分析法优化了发酵效价取得最大值时酵母粉和粗盐含量, 发酵效价最大理论值为252.31 ?g/mL, 摇瓶实测值为251.28 ?g/mL, 其发酵水平比优化前提高了4.33倍。在30 L发酵罐(300 r/min、30?C、V空气=10 L/min~15 L/min)中扩大培养84 h后发酵效价达到286.44 ?g/mL, 比摇瓶培养效价提高了45.16 ?g/mL, 其发酵参数变化曲线可指导生产罐的应用生产。
