Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012,
Abstract: The objective of this study, was to evaluate the effects of sewage sludge applications on herbage yield, grain yield, nutrients and heavy metal accumulations on Garden burnet (Sangiusorba minor Scop. Bunyan 80). The study was conducted in 2004 and 2007 years at the fields of Agricultural Faculty in Yuzuncu Yil University. The experiment was a randomized complete block design, with 4 replications for 4 years. Three levels of sewage sludge were applied at rates 0.7, 1.4 and 2.1 ton day-1; 3 levels of nitrogen were also applied at rates of 5, 10 and 15 kg day-1 with control. The research demonstrated that sewage sludge produced higher herbage yield than the chemical fertilizer, however equivalent to the chemical fertilizer in grain yields of the garden burnet. Plant tissue N, P, K, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn and Pb contents varied with treatments. The highest plant-N was obtained from chemical fertilized plots. Results showed that sewage sludge applications increased extractable metal concentrations of Fe, Zn and Cr of the soil. None of the amendments produced excessive levels of the nutrients and heavy metals; rather the amendments improved the feed quality of the forage.

Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/javaa.2010.896.902
Abstract: In order to evaluate the growth of smooth bromegrass, nutrient and heavy metal accumulation of plant tissue and heavy metal accumulation in soil, this research was conducted. The study included seven treatment: a zero-N (control), three inorganic nitrogen fertilizer rates (50, 100 and 150 kg ha-1) and three sewage sludge rates (7.0, 14.0 and 21.0 Mg ha-1). Sewage sludge and N fertilizer increased dry matter yield and N, K, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, Cd contents of smooth bromegrass. The highest dry matter yield obtained at the highest sewage sludge (21.0 Mg ha-1) and the highest N fertilizer (150 kg N ha-1). Applications did not effect P, Cu, Mg, Cr (only 2005 year), Fe and Mn contents of plant tissue. At the end of research (2006 year), soil samples for Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd analysis were collected in three soil depth (0-20, 20-40 and 40-60 cm) for all application. N fertilizer and sewage sludge application had no effect in 20-40 and 40-60 cm soil depth for all analysed elements. Applications had very effect in only 0-20 cm soil depth (on surface soil). Compared to control plots, sewage sludge increased DTPA-extractable Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd contents of soil.
Marriage and Sexuality from a Psychiatric Point of View

Psikiyatride Guncel Yaklasimlar , 2009,
Abstract: Sexuality, taking on a shape in the interaction of psychological, social, and biological variables, may lose its functionality with the blockage of these components. Sexual dysfunction may be handled as if it is only a symptom being based on the decay of marital relationship in the content of therapy, and sexual dysfunction may be neglected by family and marriage therapists from time to time. Contrarily, sex therapists may show the tendency to handle the problem in aspect of only sexuality. In the relationships of all spouses, thought and emotional intimacy should not be neglected whatever sexual problem they may have. Factors determining happiness such as physical attractiveness, impressiveness, positive and negative attitudes, marriage age, children, socioeconomic conditions, common intentions, and hobbies, sexual life, have attracted the attention of investigators for long time. Most important element among these factors seems to be sexuality. In recent years, researchers have begun to consider interaction between sexuality and marriage much more. Marital life includes food, shelter, togetherness, satisfaction originated from positive marital relationships, sharing role to cause of sexual maturation, acceptance of social role, and responsibility, individual entrepreneurship, and supporting to creativity. Marriage, consisting of spouses completing each other in these fields, is the headstone of social development and maturation. It has been suggested that there is a role of sexual dysfunction in protecting the balance of marital relationships. According to this suggestion, these disorders may prevent any damage to self and conserve the border of ego. Moreover, we may suggest that sexual dysfunction breaks the marital relationship, removes the protective effect on marital balance if we consider the beneficial effects of sexuality in points of intimacy in thought and emotional fields. Sexuality can be only experienced with healthy personality features which do not include the fear of the loss of ego border and injury. It is not possible to isolate married couple’s general communication and their sexual life. Miscommunication or conflict between married couples may interfere with sexual functioning. Sexual problems also cause general conflict or emotional alienation between couples. The findings from literature clearly present the interaction between male/ female sexual dysfunction and their marital life. Thus, in the treatment of sexual dysfunction among married couples, the marital relationship of couples should be evaluated and the participation of bo

Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012,
Abstract: Field experiment was conducted in clay loam soil in Van, located in the eastern part of Turkey, to study sewage sludge and ammonium sulphate as nitrogen sources for sorghum. Silage and dry matter yield, plant height, stem, leaf and panicle ratio, plant nitrogen content, total N uptake, leaf nutrient and heavy metal content, soil DTPA-extractable nutrient and heavy metal content were quantified. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications. Two rates of ammonium sulphate (50, 100 kg ha-1) and three rates of sewage sludge (5.95, 11.90 and 23.80 Mg ha-1) were applied to plots. Sorghum plant was irrigated once a week until soil water content reached to field capacity. Silage and dry matter yield, plant height and total N uptake increased with application of chemical N fertilizer and sewage sludge as compared to control. The yield results revealed that, 100 kg ha-1 nitrogen rate and 23.80 Mg ha-1 sewage sludge rate caused to produce almost the same amount of silage and dry matter yield. Leaf N, P, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn content of sorghum increased with application of N fertilizer and sewage sludge. Mentioned nutrients in leaf were found pretty similar with application of 100 kg ha-1 N rate and 23.80 Mg ha-1 sludge rate. Besides, Potassium content of sorghum leaf was not affected by either treatment. Leaf Zn content increased with application of N fertilizer and sewage sludge and it reached the highest level at 23.80 Mg ha-1 sludge rate. Leaf Cu content increased only with application of sewage sludge. Also, Fe, Zn, Cu and Ni contents in experiment soil increased with application of sewage sludge and their levels reached to the highest at 23.80 Mg ha-1 sludge rate. None of heavy metal reached toxic level either in plant or in soil. Results indicated that sewage sludge, produced in Van region, could be used as a fertilizer nitrogen source for sorghum, without risks associated with toxic heavy metals.

Turkderm , 2010,
Abstract: Background and Design: Psoriasis is a chronic, recurrent, T-cell mediated inflammatory skin disease with multifactorial etiology. It was shown that visfatin, an adipocytokine, induces expression of the tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a), interleukin (IL)-1b, IL-6 ve IL-8 in previous studies. In the present study, we aimed to investigate serum visfatin levels and relation between visfatin and psoriasis severity.Material and Method: Forty psoriatic patient and 40 healthy controls were included in this study. Serum visfatin, IL-6, TNF-a and CRP levels were measured in all participant and PASI scores of the psoriatic patients were estimated. Results: The mean serum visfatin and IL-6 levels were not statistically different in psoriatic patients compared with controls (p=0.509 and p=0.213). Serum TNF-a levels were significantly higher in patients with psoriasis than in healthy controls (p=0.015). There was no statistically significant difference in CRP levels between two groups (p=0.370). However, there was positive correlation between PASI scores and serum visfatin or CRP levels respectively (p=0.001, p=0.002). The positive correlation was also found between serum visfatin and CRP levels (p=0.029). Conclusion: These results demonstrated that visfatin may not play a significant role in the immunopathogenesis of psoriasis but visfatin could be accepted as a nonspecific inflammatory marker to correlated severity of the disease.

Erciyes Medical Journal , 2009,
Abstract: Purpose: Recurrent inguinal hernia presents a significant clinical problem with high recurrence and complication rates. However, a gold standart technique for the repair of recurrent hernia has not been established. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of two different techniques for repairing recurrent groin hernia.Material and methods: This was a prospective randomized study of 70 consecutive patients with recurrent inguinal hernia. 34 patients were managed by preperitoneal mesh graft, 36 patients were managed by Lichtenstein mesh hernioplasty. Early and late results of both techniques were compared. Results: Despite there was no statistically significant difference for early complications and re-recurrence, the group of preperitoneal repair had shorter average operation time and lower pain scores. There were one recurrence in preperitoneal group and three recurrences in Lichtenstein group with a follow-up period ranging from 12 to 48 months. Conclusion: As a result this study, it was concluded that the preperitoneal mesh repair is a safe and efficient method with its lower pain score and shorter operation time for the repairing of recurrent inguinal hernia.
The Teaching Norms That the High School Teachers Try to Create in Their Classroom and Investigation of These Norms, According to Some Variables
Journal of Kirsehir Education Faculty , 2012,
Abstract: In this study, it is aimed at determining the teaching norms that the high school teachers try to create in their classroom. Additionally potential relationships between these norms and teachers’ gender and their amount teaching experience. The samples of the study were comprised of 81 high school teachers. In the data gathering stage, multiple choice questions were asked to the teachers. The frequency tables were utilized in the analysis of the data gathered. The findings indicate that a relationship was found between the norms and amount of teaching experience in two questions and another relationship was found between the norms and gender in only one question. As well as it was observed that the a small number of teachers who had the most important position in the classroom wanted the students to prepare questions after giving a lecture to them; majority of teachers asked the students why they thought that way in relation with their answers; more than half of the teachers try to guide the students who gave wrong answers to the question asked by giving them clues; and almost all the teachers sometimes let the other students to comment on the answers given by the students.
The Difficulties in Worker and Pool Problems and Suggestions For Solution
Journal of Kirsehir Education Faculty , 2010,
Abstract: The principal aim of this study is to determine the difficulties elementary school students face in the subject of worker and pool problems. Worker and pool problems were among the subjects which were changed in mathematics education program applied since 2005.The fact that these problems are not included in the curriculum as separate subjects suggests that these problems were excluded from the curriculum. Another aim of the study is to prove that this idea is wrong. Study sampling consisted of a total of 92 8. grade students enrolled in an elementary school in Gaziantep province. In data collection, the students were administered an exam containing 5 open-ended worker and pool problems for determining the problem solving skills of the students. Frequency tables were used in data analysis. According to the findings of the study, the students faced learning difficulties in the subjects of pool and worker problems due to lack reasoning skills and background knowledge on basic subjects such as ratio-proportion and percentage calculation.
