O pensamento político de éric Weil
Cardoso Simes,Mauro;
Enfoques , 2010,
Abstract: my puropose is to analyze the peculiar thinking of weil, according to the categories of reasoning, as a choice to avoid violence. in his definition of man, weil recovers the notion of realization, with which man is redefined in terms of what he must be and not merely for what he is. thereto, man is interpreted as formed by a political and social dimension. through language, men is capable of projecting and skipping his present reality towards the other temporal dimensions, since it is only there where he can express what he has not yet become and what he is not anymore, his own history. man is violent because he is not essentially reason. on this basis, the aim of philosophical reflection is to turn him, reasonably, into a less violent person.
Epistemología, ética y política según Karl Popper
Cardoso Simes,Mauro;
Enfoques , 2009,
Abstract: this paper looks to examine popper’s view of the critical discussion which, ultimately, is responsible for the creation of daring speculations both in epistemology and in the political and social fields. the author introduces the fallibilist presupposition of our assertions regarding truth. this popperian concern, according to the testability of our hypotheses, moved him to suggest a method which includes the natural and social sciences. for popper, the fundamental principle of unity in science was that the testing of hypotheses in social sciences had to be applied using the same method than in natural science. it is out of these popperian assertions supporting a methodological unity, the principle of fallibility, a sensible discussion and the search for truth-considered by popper both epistemological and ethical principles-that we suggest an analysis of these principles, thus linking epistemology and ethics in popper’s thought.

Feedback em contextos de ensino-aprendizagem on-line / Feedback in distance education
Ana Carolina Simes Cardoso
Linguagens e Diálogos , 2011,
Abstract: This article is a theoretical review of feedback in on-line education. To start with, I discuss the different definitions of feedback pointed out by some researchers (VRASIDA e MCISAAC, 1999; MASON e BRUNING, 2003; SHUTE, 2007; PAIVA, 2003). Then, I present the roles attributed to feedback in on-line educational settings, based on the literature (BELLONI, 2009; SHUTE, 2007; WHITE, 2003, VRASIDAS e MCISAAC, 1999; PAIVA, 2003, VETROMILLE-CASTRO, 2003). Furthermore, I indicate and categorize the different types of feedback and discuss teacher feedback, automatic feedback and student feedback in more detail. Based on Shute (2007), I offer some suggestions for the provision of feedback in on-line courses. To conclude the article, I point out the need for studies on this issue and suggest possible themes for researches on feedback in on-line education.
Linguagem, discurso e ideologia / Language, discourse and ideology
Ana Carolina Simes Cardoso
Contemporary Applied Linguistics (AL) increasingly approaches areas focused on social, political and historical aspects, as its researches are centered on the context in which people live and act, taking into consideration the changes related to the socio-cultural, political and historical life. According to Moita Lopes (2006), AL attempts to raise questions or create intelligibility about contexts in which language has a central role. Therefore, there are three fundamental concepts that should be taken into account when we conduct researches in AL: language, discourse and ideology. This study thus aims at providing a possible definition for these terms as well as indicating the relationship between them, based on Bakhtin, Fiorim and Fairclough.

Jornal Brasileiro de Pneumologia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-37132012000400008
Abstract: objective: to compare histopathological findings and the degree of apoptosis among rat lungs preserved with low-potassium dextran (lpd) solution, histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate (htk) solution, or normal saline (ns) at two ischemia periods (6 h and 12 h) using an experimental rat model of ex vivo lung perfusion. methods: sixty wistar rats were anesthetized, randomized, and submitted to antegrade perfusion via pulmonary artery with one of the preservation solutions. following en bloc extraction, the heart-lung blocks were preserved for 6 h or 12 h at 4oc and then reperfused with homologous blood for 60 min in an ex vivo lung perfusion system. at the end of the reperfusion, fragments of the middle lobe were extracted and processed for histopathological examination. the parameters evaluated were congestion, alveolar edema, alveolar hemorrhage, inflammatory infiltrate, and interstitial infiltrate. the degree of apoptosis was assessed using the tdt-mediated dutp nick end labeling method. results: the histopathological examination showed that all of the lungs preserved with ns presented alveolar edema after 12 h of ischemia. there were no statistically significant differences among the groups in terms of the degree of apoptosis. conclusions: in this study, the histopathological and apoptosis findings were similar with the use of either lpd or htk solutions, whereas the occurrence of edema was significantly more common with the use of ns.
Lacaziose (doen?a de Jorge Lobo): revis?o e atualiza??o
Brito, Arival Cardoso de;Quaresma, Juarez Antonio Simes;
Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0365-05962007000500010
Abstract: lacaziosis, also known as jorge lobo?s disease, lobomycosis and keloidal blastomycosis, is a chronic cutaneous and subcutaneous fungal granulomatous disease, caused by lacazia loboi - an uncultivated fungal pathogen - characterized by the development of nodular keloidal lesions, particularly on the pinnae, face, upper and lower limbs, and with no involvement of mucous membranes. most cases in humans were reported in south america, including the caiabi indians, in central brazil. the disease was described in non-human mammals, such as two species of dolphins (tursiops truncatus and sotalia guianensis) inhabiting the coasts of florida (usa), south america (suriname river estuary, santa catarina-brazil coast) and gulf of gascony (biscaya bay, in europe). the histopathological findings in dolphins were very similar to those observed in humans. the aspects related to the history, etiology, epidemiology and ecology, clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis, immunohistochemistry, pathology, ultrastructural, laboratory diagnosis and therapy of lacaziosis, are presented.

Cardoso, Junia Espinha;Barbosa, Regina Helena Simes;
Physis: Revista de Saúde Coletiva , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-73312012000100003
Abstract: this paper presents results of a qualitative research that aimed to apprehend and understand, among middle class women′s perception and experience, the disagreement / distance / gap between primary vaginal labor option and a cesarean outcome. fifteen women who had a private health insurance plan were interviewed about their experiences and perceptions related to their prenatal care and parturition process. results showed a pervasive or explicit intervention of the obstetrician on women's choice, influencing on the cesarean outcome and suggesting that, for many women, it is still difficult to escape from the "trap" of the mercantilist, intervening and "iatrogenic" biomedical model, which is still firmly institutionalized and legitimated in our society. these results intend to collaborate with actions aimed to promote women's citizenship related to the right to make decisions on their reproductive choices, preserving and undertaking the parturition experience as unique and indefeasible right for all women, their partners and relatives.
O papel da música nos anúncios publicitários
Paulo Ribeiro Cardoso,Nelson Gomes,Elsa Simes Lucas Freitas
