Erijman,Mauricio O.; Litovsky,Silvio;
Revista argentina de cardiolog?-a , 2007,
Abstract: in arterial remodeling, as well as in various body tissues, the extracellular matrix plays an important role. remodeling is a phenomenon which is difficult to reproduce experimentally because the makeup of the matrix is complex. in the case of arteries, a key factor is the change in the smooth muscle-matrix relation, which causes the phenotype of the smooth muscle to change from contractile to secretory. for the changes to occur in the matrix and smooth muscle, the activation of protease-encoding genes is essential, since they modify the cell-cell and cell-matrix relations.

Abstract: cumple un papel importante.
Moura, Mauricio O.;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752004000300001
Abstract: coexistence in local communities could be mediated through several mechanisms such as interespecific competition, temporal and spatial heterogeneity. in this paper we analyse a highly diverse guild of necrophagous insects to determine the role played by aggregation on community structure. an experiment was designed to test predictions derived from aggregation model of coexistence that in short require that in the balance between intra and interespecific competition, the first one must be greater than interespecific competition in order to make coexistence more likely. the data gathered comprise two protocols: collecting adults visiting carcasses and rearing maggots collected from carcasses. the results showed a total of 21 necrophagous species reared and 18 collected. all species showed clumped patterns of distribution over resources and even though several negative values were found in association indices, the overall trend was a neutral covariation between species. the analysis also confirms that aggregation could maintain diversity in this community.
O projeto estético-filosófico em Adorno: articula es entre os conceitos de concreto, aproxima o e constru o = Aesthetic-philosophical project in Adorno: articulations among the concepts of concrete, approximation and construction
Farinon, Mauricio Jo?o
Veritas , 2012,
The Theodor Adorno’s Critical Theory offer a close relationship between philosophy and the development of formative experiences, constitutes an indubitable theoretical reference for understanding with is philosophically thinking in the so-called negative perspective. In this relation, the experience and aesthetic rationality delimit a new way to conceive reason and its moment in relation to objectiveness. This moment of the reason does not indicate appropriation but refers for a approximation and from this to the construction of meaning. The problematic that orientates this text enquires about how the concepts of concrete, approximation, and construction articulate in the development of formative experiences. Defending the hypothesis that from the articulation of this concepts the wealth constitutive of reality becomes to be manifested and learned, leading through the extension of experiences to the manifestation of the new and the construction of meaning. This conceptual constellation indicates the challenge to consider the objectiveness for beyond of the immediately given; also points to the sense that must assume the dialectic that generates approximation and for last, the path that help us in the task to comprehend the critical thinking of Theodor Adorno.
Vallad?o, Rafael;Fidelis, Mauricio;
Motriz: Revista de Educa??o Física , 2011, DOI: 10.5016/1980-6574.2011v17n2p274
Abstract: having as reference theoretical the works of german philosopher friedrich nietzsche, the aim of this article was to promote a discussion on how the model apollonian and dionysian and the superman relate with the xaxado, from the canga?o. in this perspective the article is divided into two parts: the first discusses issues related to the nietzschean philosophy as unwethung, superman, apollonian and dionysian models. the second presents the allegory of xaxado as dionysian dance, and how this may be a possibility for the emergence of the superman, that would create its own values, according to his will to power, their sense of power.
Casta?o,Diana; Rojas,Mauricio;
Biomédica , 2010,
Abstract: at the phagosome level, mycobacterium spp. alters activation and recruitment of several "ras gene from rat brain" proteins, commonly known as rab. mycobacterial phagosomes have a greater and sustained expression of rab5, rab11, rab14 and rab22a, and lowered or no expression of rab7, rab9 and rab6. this correlates with increased fusion of the phagosomes with early and recycling endosomes acquiring some features of early phogosomes, allowing the bacteria to gain access to nutrients and preventing the activation of anti-mycobacterial mechanisms. the expression of constitutively active mutants of rab from the early stage endosomes prevents the maturation of phagosomes containing latex beads or heat-inactivated mycobacteria. silencing of these mutants by interference rna or dominant negative forms induces the maturation of mycobacterial phagosomes. the mechanisms have not been established by which mycobacteria alter the expression of these gtpases and thereby shift the phagolysosomal maturation. the problem can be explained by alterations in the recruitment of proteins that interact with rab, such as phosphoinositide 3-kinases and early endosomal antigen 1. identifying the mechanisms used by mycobacterium spp. to disrupt the cycle of rab activation will be essential to understand the pathophysiology of mycobacterial infections and usefully to potential drug targets.
Casta?o Barrera,óscar Mauricio;
Estudios Políticos , 2012,
Abstract: in the year 2005 the government of álvaro uribe began an explorative peace dialog with the eln, which ended unsuccessfully in the year 2007. the process did not exceed the pre-negotiation phase because it failed to establish and consolidate the formal peace table. this article will evaluate through an analysis of this case which conditions are necessary to establish a formal dialog of peace based on the theory of peace process from vincen? fisas. this article will explain how the eln was politically recognized by the government but not the conflict itself, it will reconstruct the most important aspects about the cooperative and competitive attitudes of the parts that enabled, in spite of a restricted agenda of the national government, the beginning of the peace process as well as its breakdown and finally it will evaluate the impact of the mediators in this peace process.
Meléndez Obando,Mauricio O;
Revista de Biología Tropical , 2004,
Abstract: the importance of genealogy applied to genetic research in costa rica. the extensive development of genealogical studies based on archival documents has provided powerful support for genetic research in costa rica over the past quarter century. as a result, several questions of population history have been answered, such as those involving hereditary illnesses, suggesting additional avenues and questions as well. similarly, the preservation of massive amounts of historical documentation highlights the major advantages that the costa rican population offers to genetic research. rev. biol. trop. 52(3): 423-450. epub 2004 dic 15.

Alteraciones en el reclutamiento y activación de proteínas Rab durante la infección micobacteriana Alterations in recruitment and activation of Rab proteins during mycobacterial infection
Diana Casta?o,Mauricio Rojas
At the phagosome level, Mycobacterium spp. alters activation and recruitment of several "Ras gene from rat brain" proteins, commonly known as Rab.
