Estudios y perspectivas en turismo , 2012,
Abstract: tourists want to know different places of their everyday lives and therefore the image of a destination promoted on the internet can be a stimulus for potential travelers. the image of the destination on the internet not only arouses interest and curiosity for travel, but is also part of the decision process of a tourist. this paper seeks to identify the elements most valued by the tourist towns of madeira island, through the internet, to persuade tourists to visit their region and analyze the importance that the municipalities of madeira attach to the internet to promote their destination. on methodological issues, the author chose to make a content analysis of the sites of the municipalities of madeira island referenced in the network in 2011, and had a connection to tourism. it can be conclude that the sites of the municipalities value the natural landscape to attract tourists.

Tourists want to know different places of their everyday lives and therefore the image of a destination promoted on the Internet can be a stimulus for potential travelers. Rework Impacts Evaluation through System Dynamics Approach in Overlapped Product Development Schedule

Journal of technology management & innovation , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-27242009000200008
Abstract: this work aims to explore a novel framework to analyze the planning concepts in product development projects employing techniques to reduce the lead-time of activities, such as overlapping of a pair of each. with the system dynamics methodology, a model to evaluate the rework fraction, needed to accommodate the deviations proportional to the overlapping grade of the activities, is developed. a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the validity of the model. although problems encountered during the project management are dynamic, they have been treated on a static basis, what has as result, chronic schedules delays, overruns and cost overspent persist in follow the managers' (re)actions. in this work, we have addressed this known problem by introducing and reviewing some characteristics of the concept of rework in overlapped schedules. this consists in observe and capture the relations feedbacks among the original planned project schedule, the overlapping strategy and the inherent uncertainty in a work being done with poor information. to realize this concept, we have faced with many behaviors patterns (e.g. rework, new duration, non-conformity), and analyze the output behavior pattern, produced by the proposed model.

The tourism industry, increasingly consolidated, has on the one hand, in the development of transport, increased life expectancy, the increase in schooling, the institutionalization of paid vacations and social mobility, some of the key factors to develop and globalize and on the other hand, has in the territory their main resource/product. Portugal is not oblivious to all these dynamics. On the one hand due to its large landscape and cultural diversity and, on the other hand, for being a destiny more and more sought. It is in this context, that have main scenario the territory, that Portuguese geography begins early to tread paths today systematized and organized. This paper show how geography has opened up new routes and continues to play a key role in the education of tourism in Portugal.
Psicologia Comunitária Positiva: Um exemplo de integra??o paradigmática com popula??es de pobreza

Análise Psicológica , 2010,
Abstract: the ontological, epistemological and methodological aspects of community psychology make it particularly appropriate to elegantly and efficaciously intertwine this model with the new paradigm of positive psychology. the present article describes and reflects an intervention aimed at that integration, implemented with populations living under the poverty line in the portuguese azores islands. while supporting priority changes in the material quality of life of the population, the project has been working with the professionals to be catalysts for inclusion and empowerment, while stimulating the consciousness on individual and collective virtues and strengths through the intervention at the speech act. throughout participative and appreciative interventions, and under a community development positive focus, the project has been enhancing optimism, hope, sense of humour and positive emotions in general, as much as a new language where positive words are now possible to describe life experiences. we tried to move from a survival to a “supervival” position. we therefore connect recent scientific data from positive psychology and from community psychology into a critical, appreciative, and generative practice involving transformational changes co-constructed between professionals and poverty populations.
Propostas estratégicas da Psicologia Positiva para a preven??o e regula??o do stress
Neto,Luís Miguel; Marujo,Helena águeda;
Análise Psicológica , 2007,
Abstract: this article presents an analysis of the relation between some concepts found in the literatures on stress management and of positive psychology, namely well-being, flow and hope. in this literature we analyse and put in perspective some concepts related to a second generation of researchers, elements of the some area of scientific research in psychology, in particular the concepts of defensive pessimism and false hope. the authors end up presenting three case studies that are emblematic of the challenges underlying the articulation of the two mentioned literatures: a) the first one, under an historic frame, referred to the practices of intrinsic motivation in the jesuit life style is articulated with the concept of flow, according to the proposal of isabella cskizentmihalyi (1988); b) the second one, of a more socio cultural nature, is related to the japanese motorcycle gangs (bosozoku), following the work of sato (1998), the description of the optimal experience related to their cult; c) the third one, referred to the portuguese national context, about the use of appreciative and self-awareness practices in the training of teachers, put forward by neto, marujo and perloiro (1999). the aim of the options presented in this reflexion is to leave open new fields for research and future interventions in stress management and stress prevention, as well as presenting practical examples, already tried, of its applicability and social relevance.
Analysis of an intermodal model for the outlet of the soy production at the Brazilian Midwest [paper in Portuguese]

Journal of Transport Literature , 2012,
Abstract: Assuming as a premise the integration with another transportation mode, and assuming the city of Sorriso, the greatest soy manufacturer of the State of MT as the origin, the intermodal mathematic model of minimization of origin-destination transportation cost was applied. For such, the optimization software GUSEK was used, which allows the solution of models of Linear Programming or Mixed Integer Linear Programming. Six intermodal routes were found and the number of voyages for the destination ports were: Santos – SP (26.277.800 voyages/year - modes: Road - Railway), Paranaguá – PR (4.865.560 voyages/year– modes: Road - Railway), S o Francisco do Sul – SC (8.278.890 voyages/year– modes: Road - Railway), Vitória – ES (4.062.220 voyages/year – modes: Road - Railway), Manaus – AM (7.990.830 voyages/year – modes: Road - Waterway) e S o Luiz – MA (226.667 voyages/year – modes: Road - Railway).
