Abstract: the aim of this paper is twofold. first, this paper argues that improvements in food safety and quality will not be driven by regulatory changes. regulation is necessary but good quality and food safety management is primarily a set of practices that enable firms to better meet customer needs, and also promote decision making to assurance the safety along the food chain. second, the paper emphasizes a number of basic principles that agricultural companies and food producers should comply in drawing up their good quality practices.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between academic success and functional and dysfunctional families. A non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational design was used. A convenience sample of 200 children between 6 and 13 years old, primary and junior high school students was conducted (32.3% were female and 67.7% were male). To assess the relationship, a study case of 21 reagents was designed to empty the obtained information from medical review records from a psychopedagogic clinic. Academic success was measured as from the revision of informal tests and standardized tests. Results showed that the population levels of academic success were average. However, a significant relationship between the age of the parents and the level of academic success was found, indicating that these variables are associated with this problem. Besides that, it was found that there is a tendency in children with cognitive, emotional and sensory problems reflected in low academic success. The findings provide information that could be considered for the development of programs of psychopedagogic intervention to treat children with learning disabilities and low academic success.

Abstract: with this investigation, served as a base for a mastery thesis, we are trying to verify if there is a relation between the teacher educational training degree and the student academic performance as well as the possible proportion among the formatting level and the final grades. we begin with a postulate on which a teacher, since it is mentioned in several documents to the effect, must be prepared not only in the matter that ones usually give but also need educational skills.

Abstract: La creación de cursos virtuales aparejado a un conjunto de remodelaciones en los procesos educativos. Los roles del profesor, estudiante y proceso de ense anza-aprendizaje son modificados en esta nueva modalidad. Para creación de este tipo de curso es necesario un conjunto de requisitos que deben cumplir los dise adores, para lograr un producto con calidad y eficiencia. En el presente artículo se realiza un análisis del papel que juegan las diferentes componentes del proceso docente-educativo. Se brindan, además, un conjunto de recomendaciones en el dise o y montaje de un curso virtual a partir de las experiencias obtenidas en el desarrollo de la investigación.
The Problem of Peak-to-Average Power Ratio in OFDM Systems

Abstract: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is widely used in many digital communication systems due to its advantages such us high bit rate, strong immunity to multipath and high spectral efficiency but it suffers a high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) at the transmitted signal. It is very important to deal with PAPR reduction in OFDM systems to avoid signal degradation. Currently, the PAPR problem is an active area of research and in this paper we present several techniques and that mathematically analyzed. Moreover their advantages and disadvantages have been enumerated in order to provide the readers the actual situation of the PAPR problem.

Abstract: Introducción: El propósito del presente estudio es analizar el modelo teórico, agentes, estrategias, duración, escenarios de implementación, grado escolar e indicadores de resultados, utilizados en los programas de promoción de la actividad física en el contexto escolar desarrollados en el ámbito internacional en los últimos veinticinco a os. Método: Se realizó una revisión de los diferentes estudios que desarrollaron programas de actividad física encaminada a la salud en el contexto escolar. Se utilizaron y combinaron diversas estrategias de búsqueda, manuales y electrónicas. Resultados: Siete estudios utilizaron modelos teóricos para el dise o de los programas. Los principales agentes involucrados en la implementación de los programas fueron los docentes de educación física (EF), y los estudiantes. El escenario para la implementación se ubicó básicamente en la clase de educación física. Las estrategias estaban dirigidas principalmente a modificar el currículo de las clases de EF. Las intervenciones se orientaron fundamentalmente a ni os de escuela elemental. La duración variaba entre 1 y 12 meses. Los indicadores utilizados para verificar el impacto del programa fueron: incremento en la cantidad de AF, IMC, y peso corporal. La mayor parte de estos estudios se llevó a cabo en escuelas de Estados Unidos, Canadá, India, Reino Unido e Irán. Conclusiones: A pesar de los resultados positivos obtenidos en cada una de las intervenciones, se identificó heterogeneidad: en la metodología, población, actores involucrados e indicadores de eficacia, lo cual no permite realizar comparaciones entre los diferentes estudios. LSSP-PCR para la identificación de polimorfismos en el gen cry1Ben cepas nativas de Bacillus thuringiensis

Abstract: lssp-pcr (low stringency specific primer-pcr), technique was standardized for polymorphisms in native isolates cry1b genes bacillus thuringiensis (bt) identify. 164 isolates were evaluated by identifying the gene colombian native cry1ba, in 11 of these isolates. the 11 amplified fragments, along with the reference strain bt subsp. aizawai hd137 were analyzed by lssp-pcr and electrophoretic patterns obtained were compared qualitatively. with the amplified products with direct oligonucleotide was constructed using upgma dendrogram showed three clusters with similarity of 83, 79 and 68%. the group with 68% similarity corresponded to the isolation btgc 120 native who introduced the variable pattern of bands. with the isolation btgc 120 reverse oligonucleotide showed less variability (43%). the nucleotide sequence obtained from this fragment of 806 bp showed 93% identity with the sequence of the genes of bt morrisoni cry1bc1 and cry1bb1 bt-strain eg5847. predicted reading frame of 268 a protein amino acid residues with 88% identity with the protein cry1bc. this sequence revealed two domains, an n endotoxin involved in the formation of the pore and other related m endotoxin in receptor recognition. the biological evaluation btgc120 insulation on first instar larvae of spodoptera frugiperda insect pest, showed an lc50 of 1.896 ng of total protein per cm2. this study shows that the lssp-pcr is a technique that identifies a specific way variation in the sequences of cry genes of bt, with the potential to find new genes with novel biological activities.
LSSP-PCR para la identificación de polimorfismos en el gen cry1B en cepas nativas de Bacillus thuringiensis

Abstract: Título en ingles: LSSP-PCR to identify polymorphisms in the gene cry1B of Bacillus thuringiensis native strain Resumen: Se estandarizó la técnica LSSP-PCR (reacción en cadena de la polimerasa con un único oligonucleótido en condiciones de baja astringencia), para identificar polimorfismos del gen cry1B en aislamientos nativos de Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). Se evaluaron 164 aislamientos nativos colombianos identificándose el gen cry1Ba en 11 de estos aislamientos. Los 11 fragmentos amplificados, junto con el de la cepa de referencia Bt subsp. aizawai HD137, se analizaron por LSSP-PCR y los patrones electroforéticos obtenidos se compararon cualitativamente. Con los productos amplificados mediante el oligonucleótido directo se construyó un dendrograma utilizando UPGMA que mostró tres agrupamientos con similitud de 83, 79 y 68%. La agrupación con 68% de similaridad correspondió al aislamiento nativo BtGC120 que presentó el patrón de bandas más variable. Con el oligonucleótido reverso el aislamiento BtGC120 mostró una menor variabilidad (43%). La secuencia nucleotidica obtenida de este fragmento de 806 pares de bases mostró una identidad de 93% con la secuencia de los genes cry1Bc1 de Bt morrisoni y cry1Bb1 de la cepa BT-EG5847. Se predijo del marco de lectura +3 una proteína de 268 residuos aminoácidicos, con 88% de identidad con la proteína Cry1Bc. Esta secuencia reveló dos dominios, una endotoxina N implicada en la formación del poro y otra endotoxina M relacionada en el reconocimiento del receptor. La evaluación biológica del aislamiento BtGC120 sobre larvas de primer instar del insecto plaga Spodoptera frugiperda, mostró una CL50 de 1,896 ng de proteína total por cm2. El aprendizaje de estudiantes de Medicina durante su internado en tres hospitales en Nayarit, México

Abstract: a comparative study of the learning of clinical skills was carried out in universidad autónoma de nayarit in mexico. the participating students, who developed their undergraduate internship in three different hospitals of the national health care system of that country, answered a questionnaire including open and semi-close questions. the non-parametric analysis compared the groups whereas the discriminating analysis identified the most useful variables, differentiated the institutions with respect to the environment and revealed the opinions of the medical students about the undergraduate internship period. some differences were noted at least in one of the comparisons among the institutions; the majority of students from the three institutions perceived that their tutors′willingness to teach them or to allow them participate in the academic activities was not good in general, so it is the head of education who is in charge of coordinating the academic sessions. the most influential variables in the discriminatory analysis were the role of the coordinator and the quality of the academic activities, the sleeping hours and the size of the groups of interns assigned to the medical calls. significant rise of the clinical skill learning was observed in the three institutions when comparing the results from the beginning to the end of the internship period, being the level of learning higher in the instituto mexicano del seguro social (imss).

Abstract: an observational descriptive study was carried out to detect insufficiencies of the nicaraguan ministry of health in notifying and reporting health-endangering events. among the identified factors, there were lack of qualified personnel to assume responsibilities, lack of communication systems to transmit the information collected in communities and health units, and the inadequate informative discipline, feedback, and format inconsistency to collect of primary data, which attempted the information automatic processing, as well as the quality of daily and weekly reports. new formats were designed and implemented, which were later assessed as they improved the quality of the system of surveillance and detection of health-endangering problems.
