Informes de la Construccion , 2002,
Abstract: This project becomes alter the remodeling of the former Madrid 's Bus Station into a multi-purpose facility. The main compositional feature is an open passage across the large original building which enables the clear arranging of the uses and provides more lighting. A complex intervention allows to take advantage of great part of the existing structure and to adapt it to the new uses. A renovated image. as well as the new pedestrian tours in the open spaces. emphasize the building 's role as promotor of the recovering of a degradeted neighbourhood.
Effective su_q(2) models and polynomial algebras for fermion-boson Hamiltonians

Physics , 2007,
Abstract: Schematic su(2)+h3 interaction Hamiltonians, where su(2) plays the role of the pseudo-spin algebra of fermion operators and h3 is the Heisenberg algebra for bosons, are shown to be closely related to certain nonlinear models defined on a single quantum algebra q-su(2) of quasifermions. In particular, q-su(2) analogues of the Da Providencia-Schutte and extended Lipkin models are presented. The connection between q and the physical parameters of the fermion-boson system is analysed, and the integrability properties of the interaction Hamiltonians are discussed by using polynomial algebras.

Abstract: MIRU-VNTR was prospectively compared with IS6110-RFLP for clarifying 19 alerts of false positivity from other laboratories. MIRU-VNTR highly correlated with IS6110-RFLP, reduced the response time by 27 days and clarified six alerts unresolved by RFLP. Additionally, MIRU-VNTR revealed complex situations such as contamination events involving polyclonal isolates and a false-positive case due to the simultaneous cross-contamination from two independent sources.Unlike standard RFLP-based genotyping, MIRU-VNTR i) could help reduce the impact of a false positive diagnosis of TB, ii) increased the number of events that could be solved and iii) revealed the complexity of some cross-contamination events that could not be dissected by IS6110-RFLP.The false diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) due to laboratory cross-contamination is a well-known phenomenon and has been reported to occur in 0.1–3% of cases [1-5]. It has an obvious epidemiological, clinical and therapeutical impact -each misdiagnosis of tuberculosis due to laboratory cross-contamination has been estimated to cost on average 10,872 dollars [6]. We recently presented data indicating that laboratory cross-contamination events are more frequent than expected [7] and that these alerts require a faster clarification. False positivity due to laboratory cross-contamination is suspected when i) Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is cultured from only one of the serial specimens of a patient, ii) the bacterial yield in the culture is low and iii) the suspected sample has been processed together (or in a short period of time apart) with at least one other from a patient with a high bacterial load. The final confirmation of false positivity requires the application of molecular tools to prove that the MTB isolates from the co-processed specimens share identical genotypic patterns (after having ruled out epidemiological links between the cases involved). Unfortunately, the reference MTB genotyping method, IS6110-RFLP, requires well
Desarrollo de esmaltes nanoestructurados multifuncionales

Abstract: The development of new glazes with innovative characteristics for the tile industry was afforded by using disperse nanoparticles on host sepiolite particles. Sepiolite clay has fibrillar morphology with a diameter < 50 nm and with a composition compatible with the glaze. The host particles were conditioned to support and to protect different disperse nanoparticles having metallic or oxidic nature. The developed glazes possess a nanostructure which is responsible for different properties. Different functionalities could be combined in a single glaze as a multifunctional glaze: metallic aspect, hydrophobic response, bactericide and fungicide properties, and self cleaning characteristics. The efficiency of the supported nanoparticles allows the use of the nanoparticles technology to obtain multifunctional glazes and powered the innovations into the tile product with added value.

Abstract: the prostatic apex can present various morphologies. myers, on the basis of prostatectomy specimens classified these into two main groups: prostates without an anterior dip (doughnunt shaped) and those with an anterior dip (croissant shaped). surgical duration for prostatectomy known as "apical dissection" must be altered depending on the morphology of the prostatic apex, to prevent incomplete resection of the gland. with transrectal ultrasound performed during transrectal biopsy, the morphology of the apex can be established in each gland. this would help us to plan dissection of the apex in each specific case, avoiding unwanted dissection of the posterior lip of the prostatic apex.
