Un enfoque basado en ontología para la gestión integrada del medio ambiente y de la seguridad y la salud en obra An ontology-based approach for on-site integrated environmental and health and safety management

Abstract: Este artículo tiene como objetivo favorecer la implementación de sistemas integrados de gestión ambiental, de seguridad y salud en empresas constructoras, centrándose en el subsistema de control de los impactos ambientales y los riesgos de seguridad y salud en obra. La gran compatibilidad que presentan los requerimientos vinculados al control operacional establecidos en la normas ISO 14001:2004 y OHSAS 18001:2007 así como las interacciones existentes entre impactos ambientales y riesgos de seguridad y salud (Gangolells et al., 2009, Gangolells et al., 2010) han motivado el desarrollo de una ontología que permite construir un modelo integrado para el control operacional en obras de construcción. El enfoque desarrollado está fuertemente influenciado por la metodología de Noy y McGuiness (2001) y modela los conceptos clave y las relaciones del campo de forma estructurada, extensibe, flexible, reutilizable y compartible. Este enfoque basado en ontologías ha sido implementado mediante Protégé 3.4 beta y correctamente evaluado utilizando preguntas de competencia, verificaciones internas y entrevistas de validación con expertos. Este artículo desarrolla el primer enfoque que permite representar, compartir, reutilizar y gestionar el conocimiento relacionado con el control operacional integrado en obra de las incidencias medioambientales, de seguridad y salud y sienta las bases para poder superar la mayoría de las barreras que las empresas constructoras deben afrontar durante el proceso de implementación de un sistema de gestión integrada. This paper presents an innovative approach to implementing integrated environmental and health and safety management systems in construction companies. It focuses on the sub-system for operational control of on-site environmental impacts and health and safety risks. The high compatibility between the operational control requirements that are stated in ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 and the demonstrated interactions between environmental impacts and health and safety risks (Gangolells et al., 2009, Gangolells et al., 2010) led us to develop a domain ontology to build an integrated knowledge model for operational control at construction sites. The ontology-based approach that we have developed is strongly influenced by the methodology provided by Noy and McGuiness (2001) and models the key concepts and their relations in the domain in a structured, extendable, flexible, reusable and shareable way. Abstract: success has always been the ultimate goal of construction projects, and different researchers have tried to evaluate it using different factors. although specialized industrial construction usually involves very large scale projects with a high degree of technological complexity, research has mostly focused on civil and residential success factors. experiences in industrial plants projects can help to improve project management and productivity in such a specialized sector. in this kind of projects, the contractual arrangement is one of the core differences on project management and thus project success. this research seeks to develop a schema for classifying critical success factors as well as a methodology for evaluating projects. this methodology was adopted to evaluate critical success factors in industrial plants projects with different contractual arrangements. findings suggest that although the construction stage has been the focus of many studies, the first stages are decisive for the success of projects; contract construction projects consider project planning to be more important; lump sum contract construction projects give greater importance to monitoring the benefits; bidding competition projects consider the available technology with greater rigor, etc. the results indicate that different industrial plants projects involve different success factors and management characteristics to achieve project objectives.

En cualquier proyecto de construcción el principal objetivo es que sea exitoso y por lo tanto a lo largo del tiempo diferentes investigadores han tratado de evaluar los factores que influyen en el éxito de proyectos. En el ámbito de la construcción estas investigaciones se han enfocado principalmente a obras civiles y residenciales. Este artículo muestra resultados que provienen de proyectos de construcción industrial especializada que incluyen proyectos de gran escala con un alto grado de complejidad tecnológica, relaciones contractuales más complejas que en las obras residenciales, mayor dificultad en la gestión de proyectos, etc. Las experiencias exitosas en proyectos de Plantas Industriales pueden ayudar a mejorar la gestión de proyectos y la productividad en un sector tan especializado como es la construcción industrial. Abstract: changes in society as a whole oblige university education to introduce changes as well. in order to train well-equipped professionals, an open educational model is necessary, based on the ability of the student to learn, to obtain information, and to adapt to the changes inside the profession. the planning of learning programs involves new roles for the teacher and new functions for the student. it requires changes in methodology and in educational strategies. the new information and communication technologies are indispensable instruments for promoting these changes, but they are not enough in isolation. problem-based learning (pbl) is an innovative instrument in the university setting, increasing students’ motivation, empowering group work, stimulating the search for information and increasing the comprensión and memorizing of knowledge. pbl also emphasizes interdisciplinary work, stressing the need to cooperate and to increase students’ responsibility for their learning. in the field of health sciences, effective learning methods are vital for the training of competent professionals due to the close connection between the educational and work environments.

Abstract: Los cambios sociales conducen a un nuevo planteamiento en la docencia universitaria. Es necesario un modelo educativo abierto para formar nuevos profesionales competentes, basado en la capacidad de aprender del alumno, de obtener información y de adaptarse a las situaciones de cambio que presenta la profesión. La planificación de programas educativos plantea nuevos roles en la función del docente y del alumno, exige cambios metodológicos en el proceso de aprendizaje, conllevando cambios en las estrategias educativas. La nuevas tecnologías de la información y comunicación son un elemento indispensable para promover el cambio, aunque no suficientes. El aprendizaje basado en problemas (ABP) ha resultado un elemento innovador en el ámbito universitario, demostrando un aumento de la motivación para aprender, potenciando el trabajo grupal, incentivando la búsqueda de información, aumentado la comprensión y la memorización del conocimiento. A su vez, el ABP pone énfasis en la interdisciplinariedad, aumenta el espíritu de colaboración del estudiante y su nivel de responsabilidad en el aprendizaje. En el ámbito de las Ciencias de la Salud, los métodos de aprendizaje son claves en el proceso formativo de profesionales competentes, dada la estrecha vinculación entre el ámbito laboral y formativo. Abstract: Electrogenerated N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC), obtained by cathodic reduction of Bmim-BF4, behaves as organocatalyst and base in the Staudinger synthesis from an acyl chloride and a deactivated imine in ionic liquid to yield ?-lactams. The effect of many parameters (temperature, amount of electricity, substituents, presence of an external base) has been evaluated and a tentative mechanism for the Staudinger synthesis in a very polar medium like the ionic liquid reported. The yields of isolated ?-lactams are good, starting from non-electrophilic imines, and predominantly trans lactams are obtained with a good diastereomeric ratio.

Abstract: In this paper, two new sandwich algorithms for the convex curve approximation are introduced. The proofs of the linear convergence property of the first method and the quadratic convergence property of the second method are given. The methods are applied to approximate the efficient frontier of the stochastic minimum cost flow problem with the moment bicriterion. Two numerical examples including the comparison of the proposed algorithms with two other literature derivative free methods are given.

Abstract: This study aims to analyze how intra-team coordination patterns in the team sport of rugby union influenced successful performance. We hypothesized that high interpersonal coordination patterns are a crucial issue to cross (or not) the gain line. Video record and digitizing procedures were used as a method to collect data for further analysis of interpersonal coordination patterns that took place during the formation of subunits of attack. The results showed the existence of three types of outputs, which differ depending on the correlations between attackers and defenders. Therefore, for high and positive values of interpersonal coordination (r values between 0.8 < r < 1), there are possibilities of action that lead to success when the opponents have inverse or lower values of correlation. The conclusion was that interpersonal coordination within subunits becomes a relevant factor in analyzing the success in each game situation.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to qualitatively described effect of the oxidative stress, neurotransmission change and the neurodegeneration in animal model of chronic intoxication by aluminum. Electrocortical brain activity of animal model of stress and neurodegeneration is comparable with Alzheimer’s Dementia (AD). We used adult animals, during 6 weeks intraperitoneally treated with aluminum. Both animals and patients with Alzheimer’s Dementia have increased relative spectral power in delta range. By fractal analysis we described changes in electrocortical activity of aluminum intoxication animals compare to physiological control. We used change in delta range to calculate fractal dimension for the pathophysiological state of disease. We evaluate effect of stress and neurodegeneration, oxidative stress and accumulation of beta amyloid and neurofibrillary tangles as change in fractal dimension (FD). We conclude that change in fractal dimension could be used for prognosis of AD. Results show that decrease in fractal dimension could be used for evaluation of changes in neural activity in occurrence of AD.

Abstract: This paper describes the concept of scientific knowledge in both modern and post-modern society. It presents a brief analysis of how the value of scientific knowledge is changing in contemporary society and describes future developments linked to the new concept of trans-humanism. The term “post-human” refers to a progressive alteration of human characteristics by means of genetic and electronic manipulation that results in an anthropological mutation, which is a prelude to the advent of a new, and post-human species. The term “trans-human” means more than human, beyond human, transcending the limits of the human condition and aspiring to an almost divine superior meaning. This new modified condition of human beings is defined as post-human and the process of change is described within the cultural framework of humanism. Trans-humanism as a term refers to a philosophical doctrine belonging to the family of contemporary progressive ideologies in which trans-humanist intellectuals analyse and promote technologies aimed at overcoming the limits of human nature. Analyzing the trends, the anthropological implications and the cultural impact of such technologies, this new philosophical/scientific doctrine tends to emphasise the positive aspects of scientific development, but without underestimating the potential dangers arising from the misuse of technology. The open ethical challenge of trans-humanism is twofold: 1) the physical improvement of human beings with reference to the new trans-human concept of human nature; 2) the development of a trans-human being that can fulfil humanity’s dream of escaping the bonds of its condition, acquiring a “cybernetic nature” free from pain and suffering.
