Abstract: with the regionalization processes that took place at the end of the 1990s the states begin to resume and exercise their political role in order to face the fragmentation of the public health system. in this process, the state health departments, represented by conass, start to redefine the state's functions regarding primary care. in the historical performance of the state health department in primary care in s?o paulo, one of the marks that was left refers to the professional expertise in this field, which, with the municipalization process, migrated to the municipalities, especially the larger ones, or redefined their action areas within the state health department, migrating to areas like epidemiologic and sanitary surveillance, evaluation and control areas, among others. this human capital has been partly rescued from 2009 onwards, with the primary care articulators program. the program represents a support policy of s?o paulo's state health department to the municipalities, prioritizing those with populations below 100 thousand inhabitants, aiming to help the municipal managers in the qualification of the primary care services and to strengthen this level of care in the public health system. its object of work is the recognition of local health priorities and of the obstacles to the enhancement of primary care, in the joint construction of strategies and alternatives to face the identified problems. this paper presents the process of implementation of this program, as well as some results referring to the main fronts of performance of these professionals in the search for the qualification of primary care in the state.

Abstract: this article presents an organization of primary health attention guided by the concept of equality, within the social justice context, for population groups in social exclusion situations in the central region of the city of sao paulo. the social transformations observed in the region are complex, marked by the heterogeneity of the population groups within the social inclusion/exclusion processes. inclusion through social policies is an essential item of integration policies, guided by the need to decrease social inequalities. it is necessary to organize work processes that give visibility to these social groups and incorporate their demands into health care, linking them to other social practices. for this aim, primary health care services are ideal. barra funda educational health center organized work processes to provide visibility and differentiated attention to these segments. during this process, some groups became visible and were included in health care: the street population; the sex professionals in the region of luz; the bolivian immigrants and those living in shantytowns. as part of its technology, the service incorporated the health care of differentiated groups of the population in general, individualizing them, creating specific "entrance doorways", and promoting equanimity in access. conceptual and methodological challenges were employed in the consolidation of these practices, which required analyses of the social inclusion/exclusion processes, and of the styles of health care, such as integrality and autonomy of the subjects.

Abstract: objective: to estimate the prevalence of (physical, psychological, and sexual) violence against women by an intimate partner and non-partner perpetrators among users of public health services and to compare these women's perception of having ever experienced violence with reports of violence in their medical records in the different services studied. methods: the study was conducted in 19 health services, selected as a convenience sample and grouped into nine research sites, in metropolitan area of s?o paulo from 2001 to 2002. questionnaires on having ever experienced violence in their lifetime and in the last 12 months and perpetrators were applied to a sample of 3,193 users aged 15 to 49. a total of 3,051 medical records were reviewed to verify the notification of violence. comparative analyses were performed by anova with multiple comparisons and chi-square test followed by its partition. results: the following prevalences were found: any type of violence 76% (95% ci: 74.2;77.8); psychological 68.9% (95% ci: 66.4;71.4); physical 49.6% (95% ci: 47.7;51.4); physical and/or sexual 54.8% (95% ci: 53.1;56.6), and sexual 26% (95% ci: 24.4;28.0). the prevalence of physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime was 45.3% (95% ci: 43.5;47.1), and by non-partners was 25.7% (95% ci: 25.0;26.5). only 39.1% of women reporting any episode of violence perceived they had ever experienced violence in their lifetime and 3.8% of them had any reports of violence in their medical records. the prevalences were significantly different between sites as well as the proportion of perception and reports of violence in medical records. conclusions: the expected high magnitude of the event and its invisibility was confirmed by low rate of reports in the medical records. few perceived abuses as violence. further studies are recommended taking into account the diversity of service users.

Anais do Museu Paulista: História e Cultura Material , 1996, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-47141996000100020
Abstract: this essay focuses on richard sennett's flesh and stone. the body and the cify in western dvilization. it stresses some of lhe central questions in sennett's baok: the relationship between a global history and a local perspective; .uses" or .ways of doing" as ways of producing. although not sennett's main concern, implications of these questions in lhe field of material culture studies are investigated, especially the possibility of a discursive paradigm in the analysis of spatial practices and bodily experiences.
Andrade, Marta Mega de;
Revista Brasileira de História , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-01882011000100010
Abstract: this paper analyses the funerary celebrations of women in athens, focusing particularly on attic epigrams. it explores the thesis that funerary contexts, viewed as 'publicizing' and exposing spaces, highlight a positive relation of the polis community towards its women, by means of the valorization of question such as philia relationships and the recurring epic traditional eulogies, which formerly applied only to men. i seek to discuss this positivity, drawing on vernant's thesis of a strong connection between the public space and political identity, arguing that female presentation in funerary spaces can be conceived as one of the ways by which polis society represents its identity, moving beyond the restrictive frame of citizen values.

Abstract: one of the most important depassivation mechanisms of steel reinforcement in concrete is that caused by the neutralisation of the cement matrix. in this work, a summary of the development of a model for the carbonation of cementitious matrixes (ur-core) is presented. on one hand, in-situ monitoring of the changes that take place in the phase composition of cement pastes during accelerated carbonation (100% c02) for different binders, is reported, by taking neutrón diffraction patterns in parallel with the carbonation experiments. the variation of the intensity of chosen reflections for each phase along the experiment supplied data, in real time, for fractional conversión of different phases. on the second hand, fitting of these results allowed to make a quantitative approach to the kinetics of the carbonation of the different phases, and develop the ur-core model that is based on the principies of the "unreacted-core" systems, typical of chemical engineering processes.
