There are only a few records for the jaguar (Panthera onca) in Oaxaca, hence it is considered to be a state with scarce knowledge on the species. This study presents an update regarding the geographic distribution of the species and generates a potential distribution model for the jaguar in the state. Data bases from national and international scientific collections and literature were reviewed and fieldwork was carried out. We obtained 31 records; 83.87% from fieldwork and 16.13% from literature and scientific collections. The selected records have a veracity class I, and they consist mainly in skulls and skins (48.39%), and footprints and scats (25.81%). Most of the records were located in the regions of Sierra Madre de Oaxaca (53.33%) and Sierra Madre del Sur de Oaxaca y Chiapas (13.33%), in the municipalities of Santiago Camotlán and Santa María Chimalapa, respectively. The cloud forest was the vegetation type with the most records (30%); the majority of them were found near communal protected areas, which therefore represent an excellent conservation strategy. The potential distribution map of the species shows 5 major regions in the state with high presence probability.

We present new records of Abronia mixteca in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The organisms were found in pine forest, pine-oak forest, and oak-pine forest from 5 localities in the physiographic subprovince of Mountains and Valleys of Western Oaxaca. These records increase the distribution area of A. mixteca known to date.
Design and Implementation of a Component-based Concurrency Control Mechanism for a Distributed Database

International Journal of Computer Science Issues , 2012,
Abstract: Currently, component-based systems offer substantial benefits due to their ability to divide responsibilities. Some of the main benefits of developing components as independent parts of a system are: reduced costs, reduced implementation effort and the addition or replacement of modular functions. Moreover, since there is no well-defined architecture for distributed database systems, commercial companies apply the concept of distribution differently. One option for getting the functionality of a Distributed Database Management System is extending a monolithic Database Management System of fragmented way, i.e. adding or replacing functions in a modular form. In this paper, we design and develop a concurrency control component in order to synchronize access to data in a distributed database and describe the advantages of implementing it as an extension of a monolithic Database Management System. The component is developed with Open Source tools because these elements allow developers to further improve these elements with relative ease.
SURFACE FEATURES OF THE CIRCULATION IN FJORDS OF SOUTHERN CHILE OBSERVED IN ERS AND LANDSAT IMAGES
Cáceres,Mario;
Gayana (Concepción) , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-65382004000200014
Abstract: surface features of the hydrodynamics at the mouth of aysen fjord, in the chilean inland sea, were described using landsat and ers-sar images in combination with field data. a set of seventeen radar images from ers, along with one landsat (etm) were analyzed to study the surface features observed in this region, where fresh water input is an important contributor to the dynamics of the estuarine system. field data were provided by current measurements obtained with an acoustic doppler current profiler (adcp) mounted in a catamaran looking downward, which was towed from a boat during two semidiurnal cycles to obtain repetitions over two transverse transects. there were also density measurements obtained from ctd (conductivity, temperature and depth) vertical profiles in the water column and from a surface termosalinograph (conductivity, temperature) mounted onboard of a research vessel. the results of this campaign in aysen fjord were associated to the surface features observed in satellite images. the results show the main features of the circulation at the mouth of this fjord and other phenomena of interest for physical oceanography. noteworthy is a frontal structure suggested on both types of images. this feature is partially supported by adcp measurements and strongly suggested by density measurements. packages of internal waves in costa channel are also suggested in radar images, while the distribution of the fresh water plume is supported by the landsat image. satellite images provided valuable guidance to focus the research in a selected area and phenomena
Cartas en/desde Berlín: Morir en Berlín de Carlos Cerda y El desierto de Carlos Franz
Lillo C,Mario;
Acta literaria , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-68482009000200006
Abstract: letters from/in western and eastern berlin are the starting point of this article, in which we examine the illocutionary and perlocutionary strength of this textual type in the novels morir en berlín by carlos cerda and el desierto by carlos franz. additionally, the article discusses the problems of guilt, forgiveness, memory, told/lived history and some intertexts that link both novels.
DóNDE ESTáS CONSTANZA (1980) DE JOSé LUIS ROSASCO: ALEGORíAS REFUNDACIONALES DE LA NACIóN
Lillo C,Mario;
Alpha (Osorno) , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22012011000100003
Abstract: the article carries out a re-reading of the novel dónde estás constanza, by josé luis rosasco, out of some discursive strategies and a poetic of history that reveals that this text, whose reception catalogued it in the genre of the teen pink novella, can also be read as an allegory of the power and the masked super-ego.
LA NOVELA DE LA DICTADURA EN CHILE
Lulo C,Mario;
Alpha (Osorno) , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22012009002900004
Abstract: for many critics and scholars the great novel of the dictatorship's period in chile still remains a pending matter. this article, on the contrary, hypothesizes on the existence of a significant number of novéis published in chile between 1977 and 2006, which out of their fragmentary character and peculiarity give a proper account of the causes and consequences of the coup d'état held on september llth 1973. the article seeks to set a preliminary basis for an epistemological discussion and further major research about the role of the chilean novel, in the historical context of post modernity, during and after the dictatorship's era.

Abstract: this paper propose an approach of the book paranoia roberto piva, from a perspective of the molds historiographical questioning of brazilian modernity. it is to show the existence of other traditions at work in the cultural field of the sixties brazil, away from both the committed literature and the experimental literature. the beat generation and surrealism are two traditions that allow piva produce a rereading of brazilian modernism of the twenties.
