Colombia Médica , 2011,
Abstract: objective: to assess the levels of physical activity, barriers, and stage of change in an urban population 25 to 50 years of age from the municipality of santa rosa de osos, department of antioquia. materials and methods: a prevalence study was conducted, with a two-stage random sampling among 357 individuals not suffering from any known cardiovascular disease. a pre-designed survey was conducted to assess the levels of physical activity, the stage of change, and physical activity barriers. results: the total low physical activity was 9%, and by domains: work 66.9%, transport 60.8%, household and garden (yard work) 44.8%, and leisure-time 76.2%. the most important physical activity barriers were ?lack of willpower? (70%) and ?lack of time? (46.2%). the most prevalent stages of change were ?contemplation? (40.3%) and ?preparation? (17.1%). conclusion: low physical activity levels were found in different domains of daily life, together with a high prevalence of barriers and stages prior to physical activity practice, mainly among women and obese subjects.

Associative Learning during Early Adulthood Enhances Later Memory Retention in Honeybees
Andrés Arenas,Vanesa M. Fernández,Walter M. Farina
PLOS ONE , 2012, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0008046
Abstract: Cognitive experiences during the early stages of life play an important role in shaping the future behavior in mammals but also in insects, in which precocious learning can directly modify behaviors later in life depending on both the timing and the rearing environment. However, whether olfactory associative learning acquired early in the adult stage of insects affect memorizing of new learning events has not been studied yet.
Nietzsche y su Zaratustra: Una experiencia musical
Alvarado Lozano,Mario Andrés;
Discusiones Filosóficas , 2009,
Abstract: dionysus needs apollo to appear in human life, to be understood. the drunk song from "thus spoke zarathustra" in the current state is bearable because of their appearance, once transformed into tragic sober song, will become a truly unbearable. this song is revealed as a happy lie and a truthful deceit because is pretends. set up the way to see the sober reflection on dionysus's face. there will be two conclusions of this article, the music switches eternally over the ideas and the thought of heraclitus "the dark of ephesus" is true, from the child who plays is the kingdom. before sing, the song must be transformed; the music starts to listen, the first mask falls down after that, the tragedy to stage. the transition from the bearable to unbearable, can only be call the "fifth gospel".
A Livsic type theorem for germs of analytic diffeomorphisms
Andrés Navas,Mario Ponce
Mathematics , 2011,
Abstract: We deal with the problem of the validity of Livsic's theorem for cocycles of diffeomorphisms satisfying the orbit periodic obstruction over an hyperbolic dynamics. We give a result in the positive direction for cocycles of germs of analytic diffeomorphisms at the origin.

American Journal of Analytical Chemistry (AJAC) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ajac.2011.23043
Abstract: In the present study, we developed and validated an analytical method using ultra performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS) for the quantitative determination of 2,2',4,4'-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (BDE-47) metabolism by rat hepatic microsomes. BDE-47 is a brominated flame retardant that was widely used in a variety of consumer products and has subsequently been identified as a ubiquitous environmental contaminant. Hydroxy-bromodiphenyl ethers (OH-BDEs) were isolated from rat hepatic microsomes by liquid-liquid extraction. Chromatographic separation was achieved by UPLC on a C18 column with gradient elution using a mobile phase consisting of methanol and water, each containing 0.1% formic acid, at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min. Detection and quantification were performed using a mass spectrometer in single ion recording mode with negative electrospray ionization. The UPLC/MS method was validated for linearity, limit of quantification (LOQ), accuracy, precision and recovery. The weighted calibration curves (1/X2) were linear over a concentration range of 5 - 250 nM with LOQ values between 5 nM and 50 nM for the individual OH-BDEs. Intra- and inter- day accuracy (%DEV) and precision (%RSD) values ranged from –11.7% to 9.5% and 5.9% to 16.5%, respectively. Recovery values of 70% to 90% were obtained for all OH-BDEs. The validated method allowed us to successfully analyze metabolite formation following incubation of BDE-47 with hepatic microsomes prepared from phenobarbital-treated rats. Results demonstrate that the UPLC/MS method has sufficient sensitivity and reproducibility to fully characterize the in vitro metabolism of BDE-47 and possibly other PBDEs.
LUANCO-INIA: NUEVA VARIEDAD DE CHíCHARO (Lathyrus sativus L.) DE GRANO GRANDE PARA EXPORTACION
Tay,Juan; Mera,Mario; France,Andrés;
Agricultura Técnica , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0365-28072004000300012
Abstract: luanco-inia is a new grasspea (lathyrus sativus l.) cultivar obtained through pure selection from the accession ls-0027, of chilean grasspea germplasm. the outstanding characteristic of this cultivar is its large seed size, with a mean 100-seed weight of 30 g, which can increase up to 35 g in a favorable environment. it has light green foliage and a mean height of 30 to 50 cm, depending on environmental conditions. luanco-inia has white flowers and the number of seeds per pod varies from 1 to 3. the color of the seed is creamy-white with yellow cotyledons. luanco-inia is well adapted to dry winter and spring seeding, either in medium or high rainfall areas of the south-central and southern areas of chile. the yield is similar to the ecotype normally used by farmers, but with a significantly higher seed size.
UNA HERRAMIENTA DE DIAGNóSTICO PARA ENLACES DE SUSCRIPCIóN DIGITAL ASIMéTRICA (ADSL)
Medina Carrasco,Mario; Carrasco Sternsdorff,Andrés;
Ingeniare. Revista chilena de ingeniería , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-33052009000100013
Abstract: we present the culineanalyzersoftware, a diagnostic tool for adsl links that leverages the dmt subchannel signal-to-noise ratio (snr) measurements made by the atus themselves. these measurements are read via remote access and are logged into a central server, from which they can be displayed under operator control, so the pertinent diagnosis can be performed. an important strength of this tool is that it can store measurements performed at different times for long periods, so as to detect sporadic conditions, spurious errors and line condition trends. this tool has been used successfully to monitor a bank of alcatel speedtouch adsl modems. the tool's modular design and parametric operation makes it easy to adapt it to new adsl modem and dslam models.
El ingreso a la universidad: análisis lingüístico-discursivo de relatos y argumentos
Callegaro,Adriana Marcela; Zimmerman,Mario Andrés;
Opción , 2007,
Abstract: between 2005 and 2006 we have carried on an investigation on students applying to the university of la matanza (argentina). we have looked after the representations about university studies that the students face this instance with, using surveys, focus group and writing tales. in this article we are presenting part of this research related with the analysis of those autobiographic tales written by the students. we have analyzed the frequent use of enthymemes and topoi as arguments of universal value that have allowed us to reconstruct the world of believes and representations held by the authors of these stories. the linguistic and discursive analysis of these written productions revealed a strong entailment between personal aspirations and familiar expectations, and we have observed how the limits between desire and must, public and private, personal and professional achieves are blurred.
Ineficacia crónica del derecho andino: uno de los factores importantes para el ocaso de la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN)
Arroyave-Quintero,Mario Andrés;
Papel Politico , 2008,
Abstract: andean integration is characterized by the absence of a political will on the part of member countries to abide by what has been consented upon, which precludes the fulfillment of the objectives and goals set in the cartagena agreement. political discord among governments, as well as constant breaches, weaken the institutions and the community law that sustain integration. this article approaches the juridical problems of the process of integration arising from the states’ policy to give primacy to the position of governments instead of contributing to the development and consolidation of a supranational organization capable of stabilizing the region and bringing closer the possibility of establishing a common market in which full respect for and the efficacy of community law prevail.
