Abstract: this paper introduces concept and typology to teamwork as well as criteria to identify types of teams. the concept and the typology were developed based on the literature and research on multi-professional work in healthcare, based in the theory of studies on work process in healthcare and in the theory of communicative action. according to this theoretical proposition, teamwork is a form of collective work characterized by a reciprocal relationship between technical interventions and the interaction of agents. the proposed typology refers to two forms of teams: integrated teams as opposed to groups of people. the criteria to identify the types of team are related to communication among work agents; technical differences and inequality in social recognition of specialized works; formulation of a common care program; specificity of each professional area; flexibility of work division; and technical autonomy.

Abstract: our objective here is to analyze the contemporary changes in the world of work and their effect - or their impact - on the work processes in the area of health. the theoretical reference for this analysis is a specific stream of studies on work developed in brazil in the area of collective health. starting from the assumption that work and social needs are consubstantial, the analysis deepens the investigation of the work processes and their constitutive elements, as well as of the inter-subjective and ethical-moral dimensions of the production of health services. having considered, on the one hand, the complexity of the work objects in the area of health - that demand both a vertical increase in specialized knowledge and the horizontal integration of that knowledge - ; and, on the other, the introduction of new organizational/managerial models and the constant presence of technological innovation and incorporation, we observed significant changes in the work processes, including, among others, the multi-professional and interdisciplinary character of health practices, the re-dimensioning of professional autonomy in the face of a need to recompose specialized work, and the need to provide all health workers with better and permanent professional qualifications, both in its technical and in its ethical-political and communicational dimensions.

Abstract: Apresenta-se um conceito e uma tipologia de trabalho em equipe, bem como os critérios de reconhecimento dos tipos de equipe. O conceito e a tipologia foram elaborados com base na literatura sobre o tema e em uma pesquisa empírica sobre trabalho multiprofissional em saúde, fundamentada teoricamente nos estudos do processo de trabalho em saúde e na teoria do agir comunicativo. Segundo essa formula o teórica, o trabalho em equipe consiste numa modalidade de trabalho coletivo que se configura na rela o recíproca entre as interven es técnicas e a intera o dos agentes. A tipologia proposta refere-se a duas modalidades de equipe: equipe integra o e equipe agrupamento, e os critérios de reconhecimento dos tipos de equipe dizem respeito a comunica o entre os agentes do trabalho; diferen as técnicas e desigual valora o social dos trabalhos especializados; formula o de um projeto assistencial comum; especificidade de cada área profissional; e flexibilidade da divis o do trabalho e autonomia técnica.

Abstract: this study analyzed the educational activities of nursing workers with the objective to survey the needs and expected outcomes, according to the workers' perception. this is a qualitative research, in which data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews performed with twenty-five workers in a teaching hospital in the municipality of s?o paulo. the empirical material was submitted to thematic analysis. results show that the needs are surveyed mainly based on technical performance issues and on the acquisition of new equipment; and that the expected outcomes, in the short term, are mostly the improvement in procedure performance and, in mid and long term, increasing their critical thinking towards work. in conclusion, there is a general perception about continuing education in terms of surveying the needs as well as for outcome expectations.
O auxiliar e o técnico de enfermagem: categorias profissionais diferentes e trabalhos equivalentes

Abstract: this is a qualitative study with the purpose of identifying and analyzing the differences between the work developed by nursing auxiliaries and nursing technicians. it relies on the theoretical framework concerning health care and nursing work and the theory of communicative action. information was collected by means of interviews in three hospitals and involved nursing auxiliaries, nursing technicians, nurses and physicians, totaling 32 statements. results showed that auxiliaries and technicians perform a wide range of actions, including those which are usual for such categories, patient evaluation activities and complex procedures. all the statements indicated that there was no difference between the work done by nursing auxiliaries and that performed by nursing technicians, which allows for questioning the appropriateness of such work division.

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to analyze the nursing management work process dimension in order to better identify and understand possibilities for linkages with the care dimension. a qualitative approach was used, referencing health care and nursing work-studies. the data was collected from june until august of 2005 at a private hospital located in s?o paulo through semi-structured interviews with 10 nurses who work in an inpatient care unit and using thematic content analysis. the results show that supplies, equipment control, costs, and scale elaboration are the prevailing activities of the management work process dimension. the connections between management and assistance work dimensions can be shown in the nurse's visit and the nursing care systematization as actions which allow care and management interventions, within the unraveling of a set of other assistance and management actions interconnected in an understood or explicit form, as well as in the care management conception.

Abstract: El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar la dimensión gerencial del proceso de trabajo del enfermero para identificar y comprender las posibles conexiones con la dimensión asistencial. Abordaje cualitativo basado en el referencial teórico de los estudios del trabajo en salud y enfermería. La recolección de los datos se hizo por medio de entrevista semiestructurada con 10 enfermeros de una unidad de internación de un hospital privado del Municipio de Sao Paulo, de junio a agosto de 2005, utilizando la técnica de análisis temática. Los resultados mostraron que en la dimensión gerencial predominan actividades de gerencia de material, equipos, costos y elaboración de escalas. El enlace de la dimensión gerencial con la asistencial puede ser observada en la referencia que los entrevistados hacen a respecto de la visita del enfermero y de la Sistematización de los Cuidados de Enfermería como acciones que permiten intervenciones de cuidado y de gerencia, en el relato de un conjunto de otras acciones asistenciales y gerenciales interrelacionadas de forma sobrentendida o explícita y en la concepción de gerencia del cuidado.

Abstract: the article presents the results of a qualitative research, whose objective is to determine the extent to which teamwork in family health fosters and the participation of the community in a health project. empirical material was obtained by means of a semi-structured interview with workers and advisors of a health unit in the eastern zone of the municipality of s?o paulo, and from official documents from the secretariat of health of the municipality of s?o paulo, in the period of 2001 and 2002. the technique of content analysis and the following analytical categories were utilized: participation, social control, teamwork, and health-disease process. the interviews show three different dimensions about participation: the right to health and citizenship; the existence of assistencial services, and the need of capacitation of the members of the health councils. there are two notions for social control, i. e., auditing and partnership. health workers emphasize teamwork, but they do not include the users in the dynamics of the teamwork and in the planning of actions. advancements in the participation and in teamwork still do not guarantee the construction of a common health project, which should be the focus of the next step.
O trabalho de enfermagem em laboratórios de análises clínicas

Abstract: the paper aims to show the features of the roles played by the nursing team in the sample collection service of a clinical laboratory by identifying the activities carried out by different agents and their insertion in the organizational structure. the theoretical reference framework is based on studies about the work process and human resources in health and nursing. data were collected by means of a questionnaire, which was applied to a sample of 45 institutions. data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. results show that 77.8% of the laboratories under analysis have nursing auxiliaries, 13% practical nurses and 33.3% nurses. work division is observed: nurses are mainly in charge of managerial tasks, whereas nursing auxiliaries and nursing technicians are responsible for performing technical assistance activities, with no distinction between the latter’s roles. there are other health professionals carrying out the same activities, and nursing is subordinated to other activity areas in 24 (53.3%) laboratories. this study highlights the lack of specificity of nursing actions and their lack of autonomy in the study environment.

Abstract: health work and work education are a double dimension - instrumental action and intersubjectivity. objective: to analyze the conceptions of education that support educational activities of health care workers in primary health care. method: this qualitative study was conducted in two primary health care units (phcu) in s?o paulo, through semi-structured interviews with 36 key informants representing each professional category, including managers and health care workers. data were analyzed based on thematic content analysis and on the theoretical framework: the healthcare work process, theory of communicative action, continuing education (ce), permanent education in health (peh) and integrality (comprehensive approach), which allowed the construction of the empirical categories: instrumental/traditional education and communicative/emancipatory education. results: the results show the prevailing notion of work education as a collective construction of knowledge from the reality of work, relevant to the peh that is intended to be introduced in order to change the practices and the biomedical health care model. however, some interviewed subjects expressed an instrumental conception of education that emphasizes technical actions and knowledge updating, which is closer to ce. conclusion: results show the coexistence of the two conceptions of workers' education: instrumental and communicative, with the predominance of the second one, which shows the reach of the peh policy among the health workers of phcu and the need for deepening the discussion to consolidate educational practice in daily work.
