Revista de otorrinolaringología y cirugía de cabeza y cuello , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-48162009000200002
Abstract: introduction: human papillomaviruses (hpv) have been detected in benign and neoplastic laryngeal lesions, with variable frequency (20-60%). these viral agents are proposed as an adjuvant or cofactor in head and neck carcinogenesis because of their oncogenic properties. aim: the aim of this study was to identify hpv in laryngeal carcinoma samples and to describe their genotype distribution. material and method: tumor samples from patients with newly diagnosed laryngeal carcinomas were collected, fixed in formalin and paraffin-embedded. hpv genome was identified by use of polymerase chain reaction (pcr) using primers complementary to the conserved region l1 (my09-11). genotyping was accomplished by restriction fragment length polymorphism. results: 24 of the 90 samples were positive for hpvdna (27%), all of the samples were positive for human 3-globin. the genotypes identified were hpv 16(5 cases), hpv 18 (7 cases), and hpv 39, 45, 51, 58, 59, 61, and 66 (1 case each). conclusions: high-risk hpv genotypes were identified, suggesting a role of human papilloma virus in the etiology of a subgroup of laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas.

Modelling droplets on superhydrophobic surfaces: equilibrium states and transitions
A. Dupuis,J. M. Yeomans
Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1021/la047348i
Abstract: We present a lattice Boltzmann solution of the equations of motion describing the spreading of droplets on topologically patterned substrates. We apply it to model superhydrophobic behaviour on surfaces covered by an array of micron-scale posts. We find that the patterning results in a substantial increase in contact angle, from $110^o$ to $156^o$. The dynamics of the transition from drops suspended on top of the posts to drops collapsed in the grooves is described.
Dynamics of short polymer chains in solution
A. Malevanets,J. M. Yeomans
Physics , 2000, DOI: 10.1209/epl/i2000-00428-0
Abstract: We present numerical and analytical results describing the effect of hydrodynamic interactions on the dynamics of a short polymer chain in solution. A molecular dynamics algorithm for the polymer is coupled to a direct simulation Monte Carlo algorithm for the solvent. We give an explicit expression for the velocity autocorrelation function of the centre of mass of the polymer which agrees well with numerical results if Brownian dynamics, hydrodynamic correlations and sound wave scattering are included.

Dynamics of sliding drops on superhydrophobic surfaces
A. Dupuis,J. M. Yeomans
Physics , 2006, DOI: 10.1209/epl/i2005-10597-8
Abstract: We use a free energy lattice Boltzmann approach to investigate numerically the dynamics of drops moving across superhydrophobic surfaces. The surfaces comprise a regular array of posts small compared to the drop size. For drops suspended on the posts the velocity increases as the number of posts decreases. We show that this is because the velocity is primarily determined by the contact angle which, in turn, depends on the area covered by posts. Collapsed drops, which fill the interstices between the posts, behave in a very different way. The posts now impede the drop behaviour and the velocity falls as their density increases.
El sujeto estético en las Biografías de Gerardo Diego
INSúA CERECEDA,MARIELA;
Acta literaria , 2003, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-68482003002800006
Abstract: this article analyzes the latest creacionist production of gerardo diego, biografía incompleta (1925-1967) and biografía continuada (1971-1972). we postulate that diego retraces the ortega y gasset's notion of "dishumanization" in terms that the biografías assume a subject aesthetically constituted. this aspect apports a shade to the idea of a vanguard only centred on the form. the biografías show a "poetical life" in verses that combine cubist elements and huidobro's influence
La falsa erudición en la Ilustración espa?ola y novohispana: Lizardi
Insúa,Mariela;
Estudios filológicos , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132011000200005
Abstract: this article offers an approach to the figure of man of letters in the spanish and colonial mexican enlightenment. it focuses especially on the issue of false erudition in the journalistic and literary work of the mexican josé joaquín fernández de lizardi (1776-1827).
EL RETRATO DEL PERIODISTA EN LA OBRA DE JOSé JOAQUíN FERNáNDEZ DE LIZARDI
Insúa,Mariela;
Alpha (Osorno) , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22012011000200012
Abstract: this article offers an approach to the image of the journalist in the transition between colonial and independent periods in mexico, through the journalistic work of josé joaquín fernández de lizardi (1776-1827). in the argument we reviewed the meta-journalistic references in his main newspapers -el pensador mexicano, conversaciones del payo y el sacristán, alacena de friolera- and also in his folletos. the essay is structured on three principal topics: journalism and freedom, the journalism as a profession, and the criticism of unethical journalists called by lizardi “chabacanos”.
La pesquisa de la verdad en En busca de Klingsor de Jorge Volpi
Cereceda,Mariela Insúa;
Revista chilena de literatura , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22952004000100005
Abstract: the aim of this essay is to study the process of the search for truth in the novel of the mexican j. volpi, as an epistemological problem. the search for truth is viewed as the matrix of the novel and, consequently, the analysis will center on its presence on the narrative level as will as on the fictional. likewise, the notion of scientific research is linked to the knightly search, an aspect manifested in the novel trough an intertext, wagner's parsifal
