Abstract: in order to identify variables which have an influence on satisfaction with food-related life among mapuches a survey was applied to 400 mapuche subjects in the araucanía region. the questionnaire included the swfl (satisfaction with food-related life) scale. it was found that 39.5% were satisfied and 332% extremely satisfied with their food-related life. a multinomial probit model was proposed in which the dependent variable was food-satisfaction, which resulted significant (p<0.01) overall. the probability of high food-related satisfaction increases as fewer people live in the subject's household, more is spent on food, children express their opinion aboutfoodstuffs, he/she consumes "catutos" (a mapuche food), aged 55 or over, not widowed, performs regular exercise, tries not to eat industrialized foods, but does not try to eat foods without additives. food-related satisfaction in mapuche persons in the araucanía region is related to demographic, feeding and life-style variables.

This research aims to study the various jobs that have been made about the construction of the country's image and branding country and then analyze the press coverage that the newspapers El Pais, El Mundo, ABC and La Vanguardia made on Venezuela to disseminate and project its image. It uses the content analysis supported by authors such as: Mccarteney, Butler and Bennett, (2008); González, (2008); Noya and col., (2007); Igartúa and Humanes, (2004); Dhoest, (2004); Martínez and Díaz, (2003); Bodas and Gragoevic, (1994), among others. As a conclusion was reached that the three major issues wich were linked to Venezuela the internal situation of the country due to the established system of government (31,2%), its relations with the Latin American countries that are not part of the ALBA bloc (21,6%), and with those belonging to ALBA bloc (19,7%). There has been a preponderance of the news as part of the journalistic genre (58, 7%). Moreover, it was noticeable that 53,9% of the news written by the editor border on value judgments and that 56% of the news they release originate from a range of zero and one source, which allows us to point out that the information they put across lacks substance and professional depth. In regard to how they process the released information on Venezuela, it was specified that 81
One- and many-body effects on mirages in quantum corrals

Physics , 2002, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.68.035411
Abstract: Recent interesting experiments used scanning tunneling microscopy to study systems involving Kondo impurities in quantum corrals assembled on Cu or noble metal surfaces. The solution of the two-dimensional one-particle Schrodinger equation in a hard wall corral without impurity is useful to predict the conditions under which the Kondo effect can be projected to a remote location (the quantum mirage). To model a soft circular corral, we solve this equation under the potential W*delta(r-r0), where r is the distance to the center of the corral and r0 its radius. We expand the Green's function of electron surface states Gs0 for r
Kondo effect in transport through Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Casher interferometers

Physics , 2009, DOI: 10.1016/j.physb.2009.07.093
Abstract: We derive the extension of the Hubbard model to include Rashba spin-orbit coupling that correctly describes Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Casher phases in a ring under applied magnetic and electric fields. When the ring is connected to conducting leads, we develop a formalism that is able to describe both, Kondo and interference effects. We find that in the Kondo regime, the spin-orbit coupling reduces strongly the conductance from the unitary limit. This effect in combination with the magnetic flux, can be used to produce spin polarized carriers.
Effects of interactions in transport through Aharonov-Bohm-Casher interferometers

Physics , 2007, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.100.016803
Abstract: We study the conductance through a ring described by the Hubbard model (such as an array of quantum dots), threaded by a magnetic flux and subject to Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). We develop a formalism that is able to describe the interference effects as well as the Kondo effect when the number of electrons in the ring is odd. In the Kondo regime, the SOC reduces the conductance from the unitary limit, and in combination with the magnetic flux, the device acts as a spin polarizer.
Conductance through an array of quantum dots

Physics , 2006, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.74.165417
Abstract: We propose a simple approach to study the conductance through an array of $N$ interacting quantum dots, weakly coupled to metallic leads. Using a mapping to an effective site which describes the low-lying excitations and a slave-boson representation in the saddle-point approximation, we calculated the conductance through the system. Explicit results are presented for N=1 and N=3: a linear array and an isosceles triangle. For N=1 in the Kondo limit, the results are in very good agreement with previous results obtained with numerical renormalization group (NRG). In the case of the linear trimer for odd $N$, when the parameters are such that electron-hole symmetry is induced, we obtain perfect conductance $G_0=2e^2/h$. The validity of the approach is discussed in detail.
Mirages and many-body effects in quantum corrals

Abstract: In the experiment of the quantum mirage, confinement of surface states in an elliptical corral has been used to project the Kondo effect from one focus where a magnetic impurity was placed, to the other empty focus. The signature of the Kondo effect is seen as a Fano antiresonance in scanning tunneling spectroscopy. This experiment combines the many-body physics of the Kondo effect with the subtle effects of confinement. In this work we review the essential physics of the quantum mirage experiment, and present new calculations involving other geometries and more than one impurity in the corral, which should be relevant for other experiments that are being made, and to discern the relative importance of the hybridization of the impurity with surface Vs and bulk Vb states. The intensity of the mirage imposes a lower bound to Vs/Vb which we estimate. Our emphasis is on the main physical ingredients of the phenomenon and the many-body aspects, like the dependence of the observed differential conductance with geometry, which cannot be calculated with alternative one-body theories. The system is described with an Anderson impurity model solved using complementary approaches: perturbation theory in the Coulomb repulsion U, slave bosons in mean field and exact diagonalization plus embedding.

Abstract: ceriporiopsis subvermispora is a white-rot basidiomycete that produces several isoenzymes of manganese peroxidase (mnp· ). a cdna of one of them (mnp13-1) has been isolated and sequenced. the deduced aminoacid sequence shows about 60% similarity with the mnps from phanerochaete chrysosporium. based on the crystal structures of mnp and lignin peroxidase (lip) from p. chrysosporium, and of a peroxidase from arthromyces ramosus (arp), we have modeled by homology the three dimensional structure of mnp13-1 using standard modeling procedures. local molecular mechanics optimization performed in the region corresponding to the binding sites of ca2+ and mn2+ in mnp13-1 demonstrated that the stereochemistry and the geometry of binding are conserved in both mnps. a putative aromatic binding site in mnp13-1 is described. we also report structural differences between the two mnps, arising from the insertion in mnp13-1 of the sequences tggn between residues s230 and d231 and tdsp at the c-terminal, both of which may have functional significance.
