El taller docente, ?Cómo hacerlo más eficaz?

Abstract: a descriptive study was carried out by observing 60 workshops conducted by professors of general comprehensive medicine in "reina" and "santos suárez" teaching polyclinics of havana city from november, 1994, to may, 1996, in order to determine norms of practical usefulness that increase the efficiency of their use. a guide of observations was utilized and a workshop was held with these professors having more experience on this topic. in most of the efficient workshops the residents and professors prepared themselves previously and the initial motivation was good. as regards the organizational aspects, there were differences between the efficient and the inefficient workshops and the evaluation made by the professor prevailed. it was concluded with a series of practical norms that contribute in an important way to make the teaching workshop more efficient

Abstract: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo mediante la observación de 60 talleres docentes realizados por profesores de MGI en los policlínicos docentes Reina y Santos Suárez de Ciudad de La Habana, en el período noviembre/1994-mayo/1996, con el propósito de determinar normas de utilidad práctica en su empleo que aumenten la eficiencia en su utilización. Se empleó una guía de observaciones y se realizó un taller con los profesores de más experiencia sobre el taller docente. En la mayoría de los talleres eficientes los residentes y profesores se preparaban previamente y estos últimos realizaban una motivación inicial buena; en los aspectos organizativos hubo diferencias entre los talleres eficientes y los ineficientes, y la evaluación por el profesor fue lo predominante. Estrategia para educación en salud antidengue y prosaneamiento

Abstract: the present paper is aimed at exposing the design and application of an intervention strategy directed to develop in persons conducts of antidengue selfprecaution and prosanitation by using our modification of the theoretical model of change by stages. the 16 conducts having more impact for the intervention are showed and our theoretical view to face this task, as well as the steps to take precautions for the individual change, are dealt with in the framework of the stage methodology. the main ideas, strategies and tools for an effective and economic intervention are approached and useful and pertinent informations to facilitate the change process are given (habaneros). guidance is given on the personnel to be trained, the topics that should be taught and the conditions necessary to play their role with quality. it is established that a basic condition for the intervention is the availability of a minimum of material resources that guarantee the changes and their maintainance in real life.

Abstract: El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo exponer el dise o y aplicación de una estrategia de intervención dirigida a desarrollar en las personas conductas de autoprecaución antidengue y prosaneamiento, mediante la utilización de nuestra modificación del modelo teórico de cambio por etapas. Se muestran las 16 conductas que creemos tendrían más impacto para la intervención, y se expone nuestra visión teórica para enfrentar la tarea planteada y los pasos del procedimiento de adopción de precauciones para el cambio individual, en el marco de la metodología adoptada por etapas. Se presentan las ideas, estrategias y herramientas principales para la aplicación efectiva y económica de la intervención, y se muestran informaciones útiles y pertinentes para facilitar el proceso de cambio (Habaneros). Se orienta a quiénes capacitar, sobre qué, y qué condiciones harían falta para que cumpliera su rol con calidad , y se establece que una premisa básica para la intervención es la disponibilidad de un mínimo de recursos materiales que aseguren los cambios y su mantenimiento en la vida real. Abstract: a bibliographic review on some aspects of health education is made aimed at providing family physicians and nurses with strategies and methodological procedures that allow them to improve the effectiveness of health messages and to use selfregulation methods to attain protective conducts and to modify unhealthy habits. the new conceptions of communication and their utilization within the framework of the health model of competence are analysed. the social skills the health agent should develop and put into practice, the strategies to facilitate the inderstanding of health messages, and the utilization of the health counsel are assessed in this paper. the necessary methodology to use the precaution adoption process model is also given. it is concluded that an effective health education is not just to report, but to propitiate selfcontrol with socioeconomic premises for public health

Abstract: a descriptive study was carried out in the family planning department of santos suárez for 1 year, since april 1998. the sample consisted in the total amount of women over 35 years old, who for the first time attended the family planning department and filled out a questionaire. data were processed by the percentage calculation. it was concluded that the attendance of women over 35 years old to the family planning department was low. there was a predominance of those women with a stable union (82.6 %), pre-universitary educational level (60.9 %), and working women (69.6 %). the existence of other preconception reproductive risk factors different from age was low (39.12 %) and the majority chose the intrauterine devices and the injectable contraceptives containing only progrestational hormones.

Abstract: a descriptive study was conducted aimed at identifying the causes of the low participation of men in the family planning (fp) consultation. the sample was composed of 300 men, 100 that accompanied their partners to the consultation and 200 that were randomly selected. a questionnaire with 16 questions was applied and it was found that only 3.6 % participated in the family planning consultation and that 63.6 % went just as companions. the condom was the most used contraceptive method according to the sample (47.3 %). its use prevailed among young men aged 20-24 (59.5 %). 48.6 % men had fair knowledge about family planning, whereas 1 out of 4 had poor knowledge. it was observed a defficient communication between partners (64 %). it was concluded that men do not go to the consultation frequently due to their little motivation, to the lack of knowledge on aspects related to family planning and to a defficient communication with their partners

Abstract: a descriptive cross-sectional study of 151 patients from the family planning department of the "santos suárez" polyclinic was conducted between april and june, 1997, aimed at showing how some bioethical aspects influence on the selection, and continuity of the use of contraceptive methods, and on the satisfaction of the individual?s needs. a survey was done and patients were followed up for a year. data were processed by percent calculation. it was concluded that the adequate technical training of the multidisciplinary team, the reported selection, the appropiate counseling, and the respect of the individual and sociocultural beliefs, and of the moral principles influenced on the positive results of the selection and continuity of the utilization of the contraceptive methods as well as on the satisfaction of the patients? needs at the family planning department.

Abstract: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo con el objetivo de identificar las causas de la baja participación de los hombres en la consulta de planificación familiar (PF). La muestra fue de 300 hombres, 100 parejas de mujeres asistentes a la consulta de PF y 200 seleccionados al azar. Se les aplicó un cuestionario conformado por 16 preguntas, y se encontró que solo 3,6 % participó en la consulta de planificación familiar, el 63,6 % fue con el objetivo de acompa ar a sus parejas. El condón fue el método anticonceptivo más utilizado por la muestra (47,3 %), predominando su uso entre jóvenes de 20 a 24 a os (59,5 %). El 48,6 % tiene conocimiento regular sobre PF y en 1 de cada 4 hombres el nivel de conocimientos es malo, y predominó la comunicación deficiente de parejas (64 %). Se concluye que los hombres acuden poco a la consulta de PF por tener pobre motivación para ello, desconocimiento sobre aspectos relacionados con la PF y comunicación deficiente con su pareja. Abstract: Resumen: Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre aspectos de la educación en salud con el objetivo de proveer estrategias y procedimientos metodológicos al médico y enfermera de la familia, que les permitan mejorar la efectividad de los mensajes de salud y emplear métodos de autorregulación para la adquisición de conductas protectoras y la modificación de hábitos saludables. Se analizan las nuevas concepciones de la comunicación y su utilización en los marcos del modelo sanitario de la competencia, se valoran las habilidades sociales que debe desarrollar y emplear el agente sanitario, estrategias que faciliten comprensión de los mensajes de salud, la utilización del consejo sanitario y se brinda la metodología para emplear el modelo proceso de adopción de precauciones.
