Abstract: Fifty gilts were used, with initial weight of 15.11 + 1.34 kg, distributed in a random block experimental design, with five treatments (digestible lysine levels), five replicates and two animals per stall, which were considered one experimental unit. The criteria for the formation of the blocks were the animal initial weight. Treatments consisted in a basal diet with 19.41% of CP e 3,221 kcal of ME/kg, supplemented with L-lysine HCl, resulting on diets with 0.88, 0.98, 1.08, 1.18 and 1.28% of digestible lysine. Diets were supplemented with increasing levels of industrial aminoacids, resulting on diets with constant ratio of essential aminoacids and lysine, based on true digestible. There was no effect of levels of digestible lysine on daily feed intake and daily weight gain. A quadratic effect (P < 0.06) was observed on feed conversion that improved until an estimated level of 1.08% of digestible lysine, which corresponded to a digestible lysine intake of 11.60 g/day. The level of 1,08% of digestible lysine, which corresponded to a digestible lysine intake of 11.60 g/day, provided the best performance results for gilts and a high genetic potential for lean deposition from 15 to 30kg.

Abstract: the experiment was carried out to establish the lysine requirement of females swine, from 6 to 16 kg live weight. sixty crossbreed gilts with high genetic potential for lean gain and average initial and final weight of 6.0 ± 0.21 kg and 16.0 ± 0.32 kg, respectively, were assigned to a randomized blocks design, with five treatments, four replications and three animals per experimental unit. the treatments corresponded to a basal diet with 21.60% crude protein, supplemented with five levels of hcl-l- lysine, resulting in diets with 1.3; 1.4; 1.5; 1.6 and 1.7% of total lysine. there was no effect of treatments on daily weight gain. there was quadratic effect of lysine levels on daily feed intake, daily lysine intake and feed/gain ratio, that increased to the estimated lysine level of 1.56%. there was no effect of treatments on protein percentage and carcass protein deposition rate, otherwise, fat percentage and carcass water and fat deposition rate increased linearly. it was concluded that gilts from 6 to 16 kg, with high genetic potential for lean gain, require 1.56% total lysine or 1.38% digestible lysine to achieve best development and 1.70% total lysine or 1.50% digestible lysine for the best carcass composition, corresponding, respectively, to an estimated feed intake of 8.46 and 10.06 g total lysine/day.

Surgical Science (SS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ss.2015.62009
Abstract:

Swyer-James-MacLeod syndrome is a rare disease that results in parenchymal damage believed to be caused by recurrent lung infections in childhood. We report a case of a previously healthy young woman that presented with insidious progression of exertional dyspnea with restrictive lung physiology. Axial imaging demonstrated a hyperinflated emphysematous right lung with lower lobe fibrosis, nodules and air-fluid filled cysts, with a small right pulmonary artery and contralateral shifting of the mediastinum. She underwent right pneumonectomy ultimately resulting in improvement of her symptoms, with surgical pathology indicating extensive emphysema, bronchiec- tasis, fibrosis with osseous metaplasia, and placental transmogrification of alveolar septa, being consistent with a diagnosis of SJMS.

Abstract: changes in immune system functions are one of the most important consequences of human immunodeficiency virus (hiv) infection. studies have reported a higher prevalence of disease mediated by immunological hypersensitivity mechanisms in hiv-positive patients. this study aims to observe how immunological changes in hiv-infected children interfere in atopy determinants. fifty-seven hiv-positive children were studied between june 2004-august 2005 to evaluate the possible modifications in atopy diagnosis from prick test environmental allergen reactivity. patients were subjected to two evaluations: on both occasions, atopic and non-atopic groups were correlated with immunological (cd4+ and cd8+ lymphocyte concentrations and serum levels of iga, igm, igg and ige) and viral parameters (hiv viral load). the percent atopy was 20.05 in the first and 29.82 in the second evaluation and atopy was diagnosed in patients without immunosuppression or with moderate immunosuppression. six patients changed from a negative to a positive atopy profile. one patient with a decreased cd4+ t lymphocyte concentration failed to demonstrate prick test positivity between evaluations. multivariate analysis showed that the variables associated with atopy diagnosis included a personal history of allergic diseases as well as elevated ige for age and elevated ige levels. atopy development in hiv-infected children seems to be modulated by genetic and environmental factors as well as immunological condition.

Abstract: It is of great knowledge nowadays that the use of fossil fuels is responsible for the emission of gases that intensify the greenhouse effect, which threatens the survival of the humankind. The gravity of this fact could be mitigated through the indirect use of solar energy for fuels derived from vegetable that can be planted and cultivated by the world of renewable and non-polisher. Microalgae play an important role in this regard, as they have promising characteristics as potential raw material for the production of biofuels, able to absorb large amounts of CO2. Chlorophyll organisms convert these simple substances in the atmosphere, absorbing sunlight into chemical energy stored, that is, compounds with high energy, biomass can also be used to obtain biocompounds human nutritional supplement and food animal, however, have been found an important number of difficulties to economically viable production like high cost of production of dry biomass and oil extraction. Here, we review the main approaches of biorefinery concept appearing as an alternative to achieve economic viability of the production of bio-diesel based on microalgae. The major points are the following: 1) use of re-residual water, 2) marketing of Carbon Credits, and 3) development of co-products resulting from high value added.

Abstract: in artistic gymnastics we usually observe very young gymnasts committed to training and competition, and getting outstanding results in the international context. therefore, this discipline has been frequently targeted for the doubtfulness of its practices and the actual need to start systematic training at earlier ages. however, in brazil, we could not find any data regarding initiation and specialization in artistic gymnastics so far. the purpose of this study was to investigate and to analyse the point of view of coaches regarding the ideal age to initiate and specialize in artistic gymnastics and their concerns. we interviewed 46 brazilian coaches, who are coaching developing young competitive gymnasts at all levels of skills. the content analysis technique proposed by bardin (2001) was used for data treatment. the results showed that both boys and girls start to practice at early age. the women and men gymnasts' coaches revealed that the early specialization occurs due to the inherent nature of the artistic gymnastics, the age of participation in the official competition, and the required time to develop a gymnast until his/her readiness to compete. particularly, regarding the male gymnasts, some of them need to start working, and coaches feel pressured to pursuit results before the period when dropout begins.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the predominant feelings after love relationship endings and its different intensity relating with gender, initiative of ending and length of relationship. Sixty eight people participated in this study, thirty seven were man and 31 women, age range 17 to 44. An attitude scale based on the Likert model was built to evaluate thirty seven relevant characteristics related to positive and negative feelings. Results were based on equivalence between attributed value and scale expression. Results showed that there were differences on averages related to negative feelings associated with relationship duration, length of ending and relationship after the ending. Generally relationship endings cause emotional commotion both for men and women in several situations.
