Metodología para la Construcción Colaborativa de Hipertextos Collaborative Construction of Hypertexts’ Methodology: The Case of Hipernexus on Higher Education
Giraldo Ramirez Maria Elena
Revista Q , 2008,
The main result for this Project is the Methodology that accounts how to build on a collaboratively way, electronic hypertext and how to develop a synchronic and nonsynchronic system as a technological platform, in order to make that methodology true. The methodology introduced on this article, aims to open a possible way into appropriating Information and communication technologies, on everydays teachinglearning activities; at the same time, it wants to transform the teachinglearning practices. Its a new didactic configuration that not only incorporates and appropriates last generation technologies, but also integrates concepts and strategies from a technological model, which more and more is user centered.
Marco de referencia conceptual para la construcción de ambientes virtuales de ense anza y aprendizaje / Frame of Conceptual Reference to the Construction of Virtual Environments of Education And Of Learning

Revista Q , 2007,
This paper tries to realize of the frame of conceptual reference that supports the works of research of the Group EAV around the topic of the virtual education and of the technologies of information and communication. This frame raises two approaches, the first one, an anthropologic approach, to approach the comprehension of the relation Technology, Communication and Education that we recognize as the triad; and the second one, a communication approach that develops the contemporary triad from two conceptual principles: the mediation and the interaction.
Approaching “Medellín Digital” appropriation strategies on four city boroughs. Conceptual outlook and empiric evidence.

Revista Q , 2009,
This article is the result of a research project that aims to make an initial approach to the relationship established between inhabitants from four Medellin’s boroughs and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), regarding connectivity, use (time, frequency, and use types), daily practices and Medellin Digital’s education curriculums incidence, which constitutes the first indicative of technologic appropriation. For example, analyzing how final users from different boroughs have appropriated training strategies set out by Medellin Digital and how this translates on a real citizenship exercise. Then, it becomes necessary to go further on studies that allow verifying the real impact on training capabilities programs offered by Medellin Digital and other ICT use and appropriation strategies such as tele-centers. As a matter of fact, this need has been raised by Latin-American and European national policies, but has not yet been materialized on studies or researches that allow proving the impact of this programs and their quality on the construction of ICT capabilities.
Red de comunidades de aprendizaje, un espacio para la formación de formadores/ Learning network community, a space for the formation of teachers

Revista Q , 2007,
When it is talked about learning environments, it is referred a much needed concept to the development of the nowadays education. This concept has not been treated in a deep and consciously way, when it has been incorporated to the speeches about the Information and communication technology (ICT). That is why is presented in one of the most hopefully materialization: the learning community, this could be also thought as a formation space for educators, a space where are favored many of the required transformation of the new millennium teachers. This article begins with the idea of educate a teacher, to counter the parallel school impact through the creation of a “communicative ecosystem”, then it is related the notion of learning environment, in each one of its components: environment and learning, with the concept of learning network and learning community. This article finishes with the illustration of the learning community network model implemented by the Redes Project.
Voyage of RepA protein from plasmid DNA replication through amyloid aggregation towards synthetic biology

Journal of Applied Biomedicine , 2010,
Abstract: DNA replication of plasmids in Gram-negative bacteria has been an object of study at CIB-CSIC for nearly30 years. We have been focused on the enterobacterial antibiotic resistance factor R1 (1981–1992) and thepPS10 replicon from the phytopathogen Pseudomonas savastanoi (since 1984). Our group has usedmultidisciplinary (genetic, biochemical and biophysical-structural) approaches to unravel the molecularmechanism for the activation of RepA. Rep-type plasmidic proteins are either transcriptional repressors orreplication initiators/inhibitors, depending on their association state (dimers vs. monomers) and targeting ofalternative (operator or iteron) DNA sites. We discovered that allosteric DNA-binding remodels the structureof RepA N-terminal domain (WH1), transforming α-helical portions into β-strands. This precisely tunes thedistances between the DNA reading heads in WH1 and the C-terminal domain (WH2), to match the targetoperator or iteron sequences. We have recently moved into engineering such structural transformation inRepA-WH1 to build-up synthetic protein devices that allow for customized ligand (DNA)-promotedamyloidogenesis. Our basic studies on plasmid DNA replication are relevant for settling the bases of aminimalist bacterial model to tackle transmissible amyloid proteinopathies and are a valuable tool forbottom-up synthetic biology.
Microbiological and Physicochemical Quality of Well Water Used as a Source of Public Supply

Air, Soil and Water Research , 2012, DOI: 10.4137/ASWR.S4823
Abstract: The sources of microbial and chemical contamination of groundwater are numerous and have severe implications for public health. The objective was to determine the microbiological and physicochemical quality of wells in the west and east of the Cuautla-Yautepec aquifer in Mexico. Wells showed bacteriological contamination in at least one sampling. Coliform values were lower than the maximum permissible limit indicated in the Mexican Ecological Criteria of Water Quality (1000 colony forming unit (CFU)/100 ml of fecal coliforms) for supply sources. The number of isolated amoebae was low, but these were present all year round. Amoebae were found in 71.7% of the samples and belonged to 13 genera. The most frequent amoeba, Hartmannella, occurring in 44% of the samples, has been associated with eye and brain infection, but its role as a cause of infection has not been confirmed. A gradient was observed for dissolved solids according to altitude; the concentrations of dissolved solids increased in wells with lower altitudes. Total hardness values were above 180 mg/L CaCO3, therefore the water is considered very hard, and both carbonate and non-carbonate hardness was detected. The average values of physicochemical parameters were below the maximum permissible limits indicated in the Mexican official norm.

Abstract: This study investigated how using concept maps affects meaning formation and schemata organization of a biology course content. Here, high school students taking an introductory course on biology were required to provide conceptual definitions for ten course-relevant target concepts by using a natural semantic network technique. This allowed us to computer-simulate schemata behavior and select schemata-related concepts that were used to compare these word pairs against other semantic related concepts in a semantic priming study before and after the course. An experimental group used concept maps as a learning tool whereas the control did not. Results showed that semantic priming effects to schemata related concepts are obtained only for students who used concept maps as a learning tool. Implications of the study findings are discussed in the context of a formative learning approach.
