Representa??o da doen?a mental pela família do paciente

Abstract: in the paradigm of patient care that the recent brazilian psychiatric reform preconizes, the social reintegration of the patients suffering from mental illnesses is sought through open services (centers or nuclei of psychosocial support, known as caps or naps) in which an interaction with the patient's family is established, in order to foster a communication process that enables the mental health professional to understand the context of the patient's life history and, based on it, to develop educational efforts involving this group. this facilitates the patient's reintegration into the web of social relations that stigmatized him/her or from which he/she was excluded. this study investigates the social representations of the families of psychiatric patients as regards mental illness, relying on interviews and observation as data-collection tools, and was guided by the principles of qualitative research. through concrete experiences, the people investigated developed ideas that point to relationship difficulties with the bearer of mental illness. as a result, aggression, depreciation and abandonment arise within the family, all of which give rise to a need for support from healthcare services. the results attained may be useful as input to expansion projects of the mental healthcare network.

Abstract: this article approaches the teaching-learning process in healthcare services, especially in those that are integrated with the public health care system. based on rethinking certain pedagogical theories, the author attempts to build a frame of reference that would allow rethinking about certain aspects of teaching experienced in day-to-day work. it is the kind of work carried out at healthcare services that enables the articulation of education and of its social, technical and ideological dimensions while, on the other hand, defining it not only through the needs of its professionals but mainly as a response to the reality and purposes that guide the institutionalization of the brazilian healthcare system. the dialectics of educational practice and healthcare have given rise to innovative chains of thought and action. in general terms, it can be said that education in services brings out the educational potential of day-to-day work and guides learning as an ongoing process of a participative nature. it also allows the articulation of doing, educating, and knowing, and the reasons behind not doing, not educating and/or not knowing. as a pedagogical process that integrates the individual and the group, the institutional and the social, as well as the cognitive and the affective, it can be led by the commitment to transform practices, which is indispensable in order to render effective everything that is intended as part of a healthcare reform designed to defend life.

Abstract: under the light of labovian sociolinguistics, i take the brazilian portuguese connectors e, aí, daí, and ent?o as variants of the dependent variable "retroactive-propeller sequenciation". the data come from the following sources: (i) "the grapes of wrath", an novel written by john steinbeck in 1939, the 1940 brazilian portuguese translation of which is marked by spoken language traits of the working classes from rio grande do sul (rs), the most southern brazil state; (ii) 48 interviews from the varsul data base of florianópolis (the capital of santa catarina state), which were collected during the last decade of the 20th century. my goal are: (i) to seek evidence of change in real time, (ii) to seek evidence of change in apparent time by controlling the social variable 'age', (iii) to interrelate the results regarding the variable 'age' in both periods of time. the results present evidences of change in both real time and apparent time. moreover, i set up an inter-relationship between the results regarding the variable 'age' at the end of the first half of the 20th century and at the end of the second half of the 20th century. based on this inter-relationship, i was able to trace a more detailed picture of the changes the connectors e, aí, daí, and ent?o possibly underwent throughout the 20th century.

Abstract: this article is concerned with the establishment of the brazilian pharmaceutical industry. it addresses some issues of relevance to social-economic history, such as the emergence of the public health system, procedures for combating infectious diseases, the relations between disinfection campaigns and the chemical industry, serotherapy and the production of serums and vaccines by public research institutions and private pharmaceutical companies. focusing on the private pharmaceutical industry in brazil, with special reference to the instituto pinheiros - produtos terapêuticos s.a., this article highlights the relations between scientists technology and product development. it also considers the debate which involved the scientific community and some governmental research institutions for public health policy development in the state of s?o paulo.

Abstract: information systems have assumed paramount importance in modern society, becoming an strategic resource of power in all areas. therefore, it is important that the process of decentralization of the health sector should not be limited to services, but should also consider the decentralization of information. the author discusses the sharing of political and technical responsibility between various governmental spheres, and the need to rethink and redirect the process of making accessible information on health. this is a matter of overcoming vertical relations between government and society and of moving toward cooperative management capable of minimizing regional inequalities and optimizing the utilization of resources.
Parasitismo natural em ovos crisopídeos

Abstract: most predators, in general, have generalist habits and can be used as biological control agents in several crops. predator survival is affected by several factors, such as occurrence of parasitoids. the main purpose of this research was to identify the parasitoids of chrysopids, especially egg parasitoids and their level of parasitism. the samples were taken in a sweet-corn field at embrapa hortali?as from september/1997 to february/1998. the chrysopids eggs were collected weekly and then individualized in gelatine capsules until larval or parasitoid emergency. a total of 800 eggs were collected. the predator emerged from 71% of the eggs, 9% were inviable eggs and the other 20% were parasitized by six species of microhymenopterans. among these, 57% were parasitized by telenomus sp. (scelionidae), 32% were parasitized by trichogramma pretiosum (trichogrammatidae), 6% by oencyrtus chrysopae crawford (encyrtidae) and 5% by aprostocetus sp. (eulophidae).

Abstract: in this article we deal with a type of aí which seems to add a specificity feature to indefinite noun phrases, similar to the linguistic item certo. based on analyses of the english certain carried out by hintikka (1986) and en? (1991), we compare sentences with aí and certo. we aim to demonstrate that such specificity items show equivalence of semantic features, but tend to lead to different conversational implicatures.

Abstract: in this article we approach the labovian sociolinguistics interview as a discursive practice. guided by the french branch of discourse analysis theoretical perspective, we investigate meanings which are built from the relationship between specific "places": that of the interviewer and that of the interviewee. we focus on a linguistic item in the former's discourse - ent?o - to analyze the part played by that item on subjectivity construction process. we conclude that the interviewer, when occupying the researcher position, becomes agent of meaning actualization and meaning displacement in sociolinguistics interviews, and that ent?o is a linguistic mark of researcher position.
