L’ uvre comme possibilité : pour une étude comparée de la littérature négative

Abstract: La littérature comparée s’est toujours interrogée sur les limites des études littéraires. Face à la méthode positiviste, qui con oit la littérature comme un corpus fermé d’ uvres à étudier, le présent article, s’inspirant librement de certains aspects de la grammaire générative de Chomsky, propose d’envisager la littérature comme une faculté créative distincte de la faculté linguistique. Cette approche, qui fait de l’ uvre non pas un produit mais une possibilité, s’avère particulièrement adaptée à l’étude comparée d’une littérature - représentée par des auteurs comme Blanchot ou Vila-Matas - qui cherche de nouvelles voies expressives dans sa propre négation. Comparative literature has always taken into account the problem of the boundaries of literary studies. Whereas the positivist method considers literature as a closed corpus of works which the critic is due to analyse, this article freely reuses some aspects of Chomsky’s generative grammar to propose a conception of literature as a creative faculty which differs from linguistic faculty. This approach no longer considers literary work as a product but as a possibility, and it prouves out to be particularly adequate to a comparative study of a certain kind of literature - as represented by authors such as Blanchot and Vila-Matas - which seeks new ways of expression in its own denial. La literatura comparada siempre se ha caracterizado por problematizar los límites de los estudios literarios. Frente al método positivista, que concibe la literatura como un conjunto cerrado de obras analizables, el presente artículo, que se inspira libremente en algunos aspectos de la gramática generativa de Chomsky, propone una concepción de la literatura como facultad creativa distinta de la facultad lingüística. Este enfoque, que hace de la obra no un producto sino una posibilidad, resulta especialmente adecuado para el estudio comparado de una literatura - representada por autores como Blanchot o Vila-Matas - que busca nuevas formas expresivas en su propia negación.

Abstract: suction cups are the only viable method to obtain in situ the soil solution along the culture in real time (24 h). the soil solution is the objective criterion to modify the nutrient solution, so that it can be an appropriate tool for fertirrigation management. the nutrient levels of the soil solution must be known to establish the appropriate approach to nutrients management. in this work, levels of ph, ec,no3-,nh4+, h+2po4- , k+, ca2+, mg2+, na+ and cl- of the soil solution of three tomato crops were followed for periods 1995/96 and 1996/97 culture estimated in a trial carried out during two years.

Abstract: often, individuals with hearing loss have difficulties understanding speech in noisy environments. aim: it was the aim of this study to assess the performance of adult individuals with sensorineural hearing loss, associated with speech perception using digital hearing aids with a sound reduction algorithm called speech sensitive processing, on and off, in the presence of noise. materials and methods: this case study was performed with 32 individuals with sensorineural hearing loss of mild, moderate or mild to moderate level. our evaluation involved a speech perception test, where we investigated the recognition of sentences in noise, in order to get a signal/noise ratio, with a digital hearing aid. result description: the algorithm provided a benefit for most hearing impaired individuals, in the investigation of signal/noise ratio and the results pointed to a statistically significant difference when the algorithm was on, compared to when the algorithm was off. conclusion: the use of a sound reduction algorithm must be considered as a clinical alternative - since we observed an efficacy in noise reduction and heightened speech perception.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of socio-demographic variables and oral health conditions in the quality of life of non-institutionalized people aged 50 or above, living in bauru, s?o paulo state. clinical oral examinations were conducted on a sample of 224 people including dental caries, periodontal disease and usage or need of dental prosthesis according to who suggestions for community dental health surveys. they were also asked to answer a questionnaire comprised of 49 questions about the impact of their oral status on the activities of daily living (ohip). descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were computed with individual scores of each domain as dependent variables. the results were: 60% were retired people, 42% exercise no social activity and 65.5% earned less than three minimum wages. dentate people had a mean of 15.3 missing teeth, 117 people (53% of the sample) had full dentures. it could be concluded that regression analysis showed no socio-demographic variable but age having a significant impact on quality of life; as people get older oral disorders seems to produce lower impact on quality of life. as it concerns to oral clinical data only periodontal disease showed impact on quality of life.

Abstract: oral health condition in samples of children from zero to six years old, examined in day nurseries for children from bauru and s. paulo county (brazil) by the caries indicator in primary dentition - dmfs, is assessed. the first group did not receive oral health care where any as the second group received the standard oral care provided by the institution. variables related to way of life and their relationship to the presence of caries were evaluated. multiple regression analysis showed a statistically significant association of age and frequency of dental visits with the prevalence of dental caries (p<0.05). the data also showed that 23.3% of the children from bauru, and 9.3% of those from s. paulo were free of caries, numbers that are very far from the 50% proposed by who for the year 2000. the overall prevalence of dental caries was greater for the bauru group than for the s. paulo group; however, statistical significance was only found in the 3-4 age-group (p<0.05). sex differences in the occurrence of dental caries were not statistically significant.

Abstract: objective: to assess the preference for sweetness among preschool children and differences between less and more deprived groups. in addition, to assess whether sweet taste preference was associated with presence of caries. methods: the sample was composed by 572 preschool children aged between 4 and 6, distributed in three day nurseries of varied socioeconomic background. cross-sectional study developed in two steps. preference for sweetness was assessed using a modified version of the sweet preference inventory. the solutions varied in sugar concentration from 0 to 1,17 molar (0 to 400 g / litre). the presence of caries was assessed using the defs index. the socioeconomic status of the sample was classified according to the origin of domicile. results: the variation in preference for sweetness in our sample was too small. most children preferred the sweetest juice. this reduced the ability of this variable to explain variation in caries prevalence. despite this limitation, our results showed that socioeconomic level influenced preference for sweetness, which in turn was associated with caries prevalence. conclusion: the socioeconomic status influence the sweetness preference and this, in turn, is associated with the dental caries prevalence.

Abstract: Foi avaliada a prevalência de cárie na denti o decídua de crian as entre 0 e 6 anos, matriculadas em creches dos Municípios de Bauru e S o Paulo, SP (Brasil). O primeiro grupo (Bauru) n o recebia cuidados sistematizados de saúde na institui o e o segundo (S o Paulo) apresentava uma rotina de cuidados como norma institucional. Foram analisadas as variáveis relativas aos modos de viver desses grupos populacionais e sua associa o com a ocorrência de cárie, efetuando um estudo de caso para caracteriza o de fatores coletivos de risco à cárie. Através de análise de regress o múltipla, verificou-se a influência da idade e freqüência de consultas odontológicas sobre a prevalência de cárie na amostra estudada (p<0,05). Na faixa etária de 5-6 anos, 23,3% das crian as de Bauru e 9,3% de S o Paulo estavam isentas de cárie, contra a expectativa de 50% prevista na Meta n.o 1 da Organiza o Mundial da Saúde para o ano 2000. A prevalência de cárie foi mais elevada em Bauru nas crian as de 3-4 e 5-6 anos, apresentando significancia estatística apenas para o grupo 3-4 anos (p<0,05). N o foram observadas diferen as estatisticamente significantes entre os sexos quanto à ocorrência de cárie.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: Avaliar as preferências pelo sabor doce e sua associa o com as condi es socioecon micas e a prevalência de cárie dentária em pré-escolares. MéTODOS: A amostra foi composta por 572 crian as de 4 a 6 anos, matriculadas em pré-escolas, dividida em estratos socioecon micos segundo a procedência (um bairro central, um periférico e Programa de Desfavelamento). Estudo transversal, foi desenvolvido em duas etapas. A preferência pelo sabor doce foi avaliada através do Sweet Preference Inventory modificado. A concentra o das solu es variou de 0 a 400 g/litro (0 a 1,17 molar). Foi utilizado o índice ceos para verificar a prevalência de cárie. RESULTADOS: Foram encontradas diferen as estatisticamente significantes entre as crian as do Programa de Desfavelamento e dos demais grupos na preferência pelo sabor doce e no consumo de a úcar, bem como associa o entre a procedência e o percentual de crian as livres de cárie, sendo o grupo do Desfavelamento o menos favorecido (p<0,05). CONCLUS O: Os achados sustentam a hipótese de que o nível socioecon mico influencia a preferência por a úcar e esta, por sua vez, está associada à prevalência de cárie dentária na denti o decídua.
