Mayara Roberta Martins,Marcelo Antonio Conterato
A Novel Approach for Inferring the Proportion of Terrestrial Organic Matter Input to Marine Sediments on the Basis of TOC:TN and δ13Corg Signatures  [PDF]
Antonio Fernando Menezes Freire, Marcelo Costa Monteiro
Open Journal of Marine Science (OJMS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ojms.2013.32009
Abstract:

The ratio of total organic carbon to total nitrogen (TOC:TN) and the stable carbon isotope ratio of organic matter (δ13Corg) are widely applied for inferring the origin of organic matter (OM) in Quaternary marine sediments. A plot of TOC:TN vs. δ13Corg is useful for such studies but is strongly based on qualitative constraints. This study is based on the qualitative characterization of the source of Quaternary OM via analysis of TOC:TN and δ13Corg signatures, but also proposes a probability parameter, which combines both signatures, to infer the amount of Terrestrial OM Input (TOMI). This index provides a method for quantifying the proportion of terrestrial OM vs. marine OMin a more comprehensive manner. The TOMI index concept was applied to a study area in theJoetsuBasin, eastern margin of theJapanSea, where previous studies have characterized theOMfrom the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) to the present. The upwards increase in TOC indicates thatOMproduction during the Holocene was higher than during the LGM. The enriched δ13Corg signature upwards and decrease in TOC:TN suggest predominantly marine phytoplankton OM during the Holocene. Throughout the LGM, low OM production with depleted δ13C

Coopera??o, intera??o e aprendizagem no arranjo produtivo local de equipamentos e implementos agrícolas do Paraná
Iacono, Antonio;Nagano, Marcelo Seido;
Intera??es (Campo Grande) , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1518-70122010000200006
Abstract: the purpose of this article is presenting an analysis about the cooperation, interaction and learning relationships among the several types of players in a cluster. for that, the inhibiting and motivating factors of those relationships and the main internal and external sources of learning-oriented knowledge have been investigated. empirical evidences have demonstrated that the cooperation relationships and the interactions for the learning are influenced by organizational factors strongly related to the infrastructure and enterprises management issues.
Interactions and Cooperation in Local Production Systems: An Analysis of Inhibiting Factors Related to Specificities of Small Enterprises
Iacono,Antonio; Seido Nagano,Marcelo;
Journal of technology management & innovation , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-27242009000200012
Abstract: the purpose of this article is to present some organizational and environmental factors that inhibit interactions and cooperation among several types of actors in a local production system (lps) of small and medium-sized enterprises (smes). to this end an exploratory study was carried out in an embryonic lps of farming machinery and equipment factories located in west paraná state, brazil. the assessment of cooperation and interaction relations in the lps led to the identification of inhibiting factors, which were correlated to specificities of the participating enterprises. empirical evidence demonstrated that the inhibiting factors that impacted joint interactions and actions the most are of an organizational nature and strongly related to characteristics intrinsic to the size of the enterprises under consideration.
INTERA O E COOPERA O EM ARRANJOS PRODUTIVOS LOCAIS DE MICRO E PEQUENAS EMPRESAS
Antonio Iacono,Marcelo Seido Nagano
Abstract: This paper presents an analytic framework for the formulation and evaluation of automaticgeneration control in the Ecuadorian Electrical System (SNI) taking like reference mark theapproaches CPS-1 and CPS-2 of NERC. The article is divided in sections that they explain indetail the approaches CPS of NERC, how the limits of these approaches are calculated havingin consideration the specific conditions of the electric Ecuadorian system (section 2), and howthe approaches are applied in the evaluation of the automatic control of the generation in SNIof Ecuador keeping in mind the interconnection with Colombia (section 3). The minimum valueof BIAS is also suggested to fix in the Ecuadorian system for the execution of the approach CPS-2.
Dinámica de la frecuencia del Sistema Interconectado Ecuador-Colombia
Marcelo Arias ; Antonio Martínez
Ingeniería Energética , 2010,
Abstract: This paper presents a procedure to study the dynamics of the frequency of theinterconnected system Ecuador-Colombia when a generation unit comes out of thesystem, and when one doesn't have the necessary information of the electric Colombiansystem, furthermore the paper presents the results obtained when this procedure isapplying it to a real example

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present some organizational and environmental factors that inhibit interactions and cooperation among several types of actors in a local production system (LPS) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Desenvolvimento e desequilíbrio industrial no Rio Grande do Sul: uma análise secular evolucionária
Arend, Marcelo;Cario, Silvio Antonio Ferraz;
Economia e Sociedade , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-06182010000200007
Abstract: this present paper applies both the institutionalistic and neo-schumpeterian approaches in order to understand the dynamics of industrial development and the consequent evolution of the economic unbalance of the state of rio grande do sul. the hypothesis is that two path dependencies were originated, one was dynamic and the other was not. such path dependencies were determined widely by technological factors and by the institutional matrix of the two "halves". present in the original path, elements of long duration such as ownership rights, learning, social structure, ideology, habits, public policies and inovations, all produced local private industries, which explain the course of industrial development and the regional stability of this state. the evolutionary analysis shows two crucial periods for the understanding of the industrial development of rio grande do sul: the beginning of the old republic and the beginning of the second half of the 20th century. in both those moments, rio grande do sul's economy was going through a crisis, but soon afterward it was restructured. the northern half was the region responsible for the technoproductive change in both periods, thus consolidating itself as the dynamic industrial matrix.
