Perceived Assessement Style and Learning Motivation
Elena Cocorad?,Marcela Rodica Luca,Mariela Pavalache-Ilie
Bulletin of the Transilvania University of Bra?ov. Series VII : Social Sciences and Law , 2009,
Abstract: The assessment behaviour of the teacher plays a key role in giving students feedback on their performance and enhancing learning motivation. According to orientation of the evaluation and the level of exigency, four assessment styles are described: normative, formative, popular and conventional. The research was conducted on 394 students aged 16-18 years, 253 girls and 141 boys, in 16 classes of upper higher secondary schools in the city of Brasov, and the chosen subject was English language. The perceived evaluative styles of five teachers were measured, by students in 2-3 classes for each of them, in relationship with their learning motivation. The results show that the extrinsic motivation- reward is associated with the perception of the style as lenient, the perceived performance is associated with norm-oriented. There are differences between the evaluative style perceptions of the students in the same class according to their learning performances.
Existence for a class of discrete hyperbolic problems
Luca Rodica
Advances in Difference Equations , 2006,
Abstract: We investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a class of discrete hyperbolic systems with some nonlinear extreme conditions and initial data, in a real Hilbert space.
Existence and uniqueness of solutions for a second-order nonlinear hyperbolic system
Rodica Luca
Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 2011,
Abstract: We study the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behaviour of solutions to a second-order nonlinear hyperbolic system of equations. The spatial variable is in the positive half-axis.
Positive Solutions for Systems of Coupled Fractional Boundary Value Problems  [PDF]
Johnny Henderson, Rodica Luca, Alexandru Tudorache
Open Journal of Applied Sciences (OJAppS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ojapps.2015.510059
Abstract: We investigate the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions for a system of nonlinear Riemann-Liouville fractional differential equations with coupled integral boundary conditions which contain some positive constants.
Nonnegative Solutions for a Riemann-Liouville Fractional Boundary Value Problem  [PDF]
Rodica Luca, Alexandru Tudorache
Open Journal of Applied Sciences (OJAppS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ojapps.2019.910061
Abstract: We investigate the existence of nonnegative solutions for a Riemann-Liouville fractional differential equation with integral terms, subject to boundary conditions which contain fractional derivatives and Riemann-Stieltjes integrals. In the proof of the main results, we use the Banach contraction mapping principle and the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem for the sum of two operators.
The Use of Numerical Applications in the Study of Dental Contacts
Mihai-C?t?lin FRUNZ?,Gheorghe FRUNZ?,Rodica LUCA
Applied Medical Informatics , 2010,
Abstract: This paper seeks to explore the numerical analysis methods used in dentistry in general and those regarding teeth contacts, in particular. Typically, such an analysis consists of the following steps: modelling the actual object, mesh generation, numerical modelling and computer programming. The best known and mostly used of all is the finite element method. The paper also presents other more refined methods, for instance: CATIA and fast Fourier transform. The study of the living tissue based on numerical analysis exceeds the limitations of in vivo experiments but computers can never replicate the body adaptation capacity.
Parenthood and the Wayana People  [PDF]
Maurizio Alì, Rodica Ailincai
Sociology Mind (SM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/sm.2016.63013
Abstract: This paper presents the first results obtained from an exploratory study which is conducted within the Amerindian Wayana communities who inhabit the Amazon sector of the High Maroni area, in French Guiana. Based on an ecological and interactionist approach and employing comprehensive methods to analyze observed facts (to bypass the nostalgic attitude fostering the paradigmatic anthropological dichotomy “tradition vs; modernity”), this study describes educational family practices among Wayana and analyses parents’ expectations visà-vis their children in the framework of the postcolonial dynamic, with the aim to understand the influence of the national public policies to diffuse certain domestic praxis. The ethnographic corpus is gathered during a long fieldwork and it is accompanied by seventeen semi-open interviews. The interpretative approach attempts to link the observed behaviours observed to contextual and cultural variables. Following the analysis of the data, the authors propose 1) a diagram of the structure of Wayana family kinship Microsystems (with a description and a diagram of the Wayana matrilineality scheme); 2) a description of roles and educational functions within their communities and, finally, 3) an overview of parental expectations interpreted taking into account the influences of contemporary inter-systemic interactions (and above all the dynamics generated by the recent introduction of compulsory schooling into the area).
Short lasting activity-related headaches with sudden onset in children: a case-based reasoning on classification and diagnosis
Irene Toldo, Debora De Carlo, Rodica Mardari, Luca De Palma, Michela Gatta, Barbara Bolzonella, Margherita Nosadini, Luca Bartolini, Stefano Sartori, Pier Antonio Battistella
The Journal of Headache and Pain , 2013, DOI: 10.1186/1129-2377-14-3
Abstract: Findings: We present the clinical history of a 7-year-old child and a 3-year-old child both diagnosed as having activity-related headaches, characterized by sudden onset of short lasting (few seconds) attacks, that were triggered by cough or exercise. There were no accompanying symptoms and the neurological examination was normal in both cases. Brain magnetic resonance imaging showed, in the first case, a Chiari 1 malformation and, in the second case, a cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma. Both cases received an early diagnosis, were surgically treated and had a good prognosis at follow-up.When headache has a recent onset, it presents suddenly, and it is triggered by strain, even with normal neurological examination, neuroimaging is mandatory in order to exclude secondary headaches, especially in children.
Benchmarking in Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) – Tool for training reform
Rodica MOLDOVEANU
Economia : Seria Management , 2009,
Abstract: Adults invariably need to change their job from sector to sector and place to place as their life and training needs change. In this respect the importance of recognizing people’s knowledge, skills and competencies as basis for further learning and development can not be overstated Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition process (PLAR). Accepted benchmarks for PLAR support assessment process by providing a list of function, skills and knowledge that need to be used as a complementary set of generic standards of best practices in PLAR.
