Advances in Anthropology (AA) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/aa.2018.83007
Abstract: This document shows the mechanism and logic which were used to develop the communicative instrument. This instrument will facilitate the communication between the health personnel and the Nahuatl population in Mexico. Using this instrument, clinical interviews, as well as medical recommendations may be carried out despite the lack of knowledge of the Nahuatl language. The instrument was developed taking in consideration that Nahuatl is a tone language in comparison with Spanish grammar. Regarding phonetics, it can be read since it shares the same alphabet. The knowledge of this language was required to decide the use of the polite language instead of the reverential language which is more complicated. This document is based on the field research, the clinical interviews done by the internists, as well as the clinical experience of doctors who were responsible for the medical recommendations. Both the clinical interview and the medical recommendations are presented for the application as well as additional documents such as dictionaries and compendiums.

Materials Sciences and Applications (MSA) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/msa.2012.310101
Abstract: Fluorine doped tin oxide, SnO2:F, thin films were deposited by ultrasonic chemical spray starting from tin chloride and hydrofluoric acid. The physical characteristics of the films as a function of both water content in the starting solution and substrate temperature were studied. The film structure was polycrystalline in all cases, showing that the intensity of (200) peak increased with the water content in the starting solution. The electrical resistivity decreased with the water content, reaching a minimum value, in the order of 8 × 10-4 Ωcm, for films deposited at 450℃ from a starting solution with a water content of 10 ml per 100 ml of solution; further increase in water content increased the corresponding resistivity. Optical transmittances of SnO2:F films were high, in the order of 75%, and the band gap values oscillated around 3.9 eV. SEM analysis showed uniform surface morphologies with different geometries depending on the deposition conditions. Composition analysis showed a stoichiometric compound with a [Sn/O] ratio around 1:2 in all samples. The presence of F into the SnO2 lattice was detected, within 2 at % respect to Sn.

Advances in Anthropology (AA) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/aa.2019.91006
Abstract: Since remote times, there have been records that have stated the practice of tattooing in many cultures. The techniques and tools used are related to the senses as well as the functions of social practices, hence the development of diseases is related to therapeutic practices. The purpose of this research is to identify the construct as the foundation of decision making which is related to the reality from the perspective of someone. Tattooing practice possesses a magical sense due to the symbols and the understanding of the body as a map whose functioning and representations have led humans to recur tattooing as a therapeutic resource. Moreover, tattooing practice is about an effect of decision making. This paper registers different techniques from the Western as well as some traditional cultures that use tattooing as a therapeutic resource.

Psykhe (Santiago) , 2012,
This article presents the results of a study that estimates the association between self-esteem and academic talent, using the academic results for language and math of students in vulnerable socioeconomic conditions. A correlational design with quantitative methodology and an intentional sample were used. Data were collected through tests that follow the curriculum (Assessment System of Progress in Learning SEPA), a practical, creative and analytic intelligence test, a questionnaire on academic self-concept applied to 1411 students, and a questionnaire applied to 1411 parents and/or legal guardians. The results, obtained via the use of Student's t and multiple regression models, support the association between academic expectations, self-concept, and academic talent and suggest that these 3 elements form a virtuous cycle that fosters good academic performance.
Prevalence of IgG and IgM anti-Toxoplasma antibodies in patients with HIV and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)

Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical , 1997,
Abstract: With the emergence of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), Toxoplasma gondii has arisen as an important opportunist pathogenic agent, especcially in the central nervous system, being the most common cause of intracerebral lesions. The incidence of Toxoplasma gondii in HIV-infected patients depends principally on the existence of latent Toxoplasma parasitosis in the population affected. Through the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), IgG and IgM anti-Toxoplasma antibodies were found in 92 patients of which 46 (50.0%) were IgG seropositive, and only one case (1.0%) had IgM antibodies.Of the 92 patients: 53 were HIV seropositives and 39 had AIDS. The detection and monitoring of anti-Toxoplasma antibodies in HIV patients is essential, since in this group there is a high percentage risk of developing cerebral toxoplasmosis, which is the second cause of death in this type of patients.

AbstractThe study of violence in dating relationships is important for three reasons: first, it has been found that physical aggression before marriage is indicative of a 51% probability that this aggression will be repeated throughout the first year and a half of cohabitation. Second, the study of violence can aid in understanding the phenomenon of violence in intimate relationships. Finally, knowledge about this phenomenon may help to plan and promote prevention. Moreover, the study of dating violence has historically focused on women, yet, recent research suggests that, at least in dating couples, the gender gap is decreasing or even reversing. This study presents data about dating violence from a survey of 140 young men and women in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The results indicate that 45.5% of men and 46.8% of women, corresponding to 46.2% of the sample as a whole, suffer from violence to some degree, but there were no significant gender differences in this regard.
