Escala de Aconselhamento Profissional: análise com estudantes de Ensino Médio

Abstract: this study aimed at analyzing the "escala de aconselhamento profissional-eap" with high school students, trying to make comparisons with the normative sample that answered the scale, which was composed by college students. two data sets were used, the first one composed by 762 college students, and the second one comprised of 950 high school students. factor and rasch analyses were conducted. the same factor structure defined for college students was found with adolescents successfully. item reliability ranged from 0.97 to 0.99 and people reliability varied between 0.70 and 0.85; fit statistics, regarding people and items, was adequate. theta and item difficulty were similar in both samples. results were interpreted as favorable to using eap to measure vocational interests of adolescents, considering the previously defined dimensions.

Abstract: this study aimed to develop and validate a scale measuring self-efficacy related do occupational activities and associated sources for the use in vocational guidance. the process of construction started by a theoretical review, followed by a pilot test, the analysis of experts, and verification of structure and internal consistency. a total of 333 adolescents attending public and private secondary schools, located in sao paulo state, brazil, participated in this study. evidence of valid positive content was found, considering the high agreement between specialists and theoretical aspects. factor solution of three factors: personal direct experience, vicarious learning and verbal persuasion, showed higher theoretical coherence with cronbach alphas of 0.88, 0.62 and 0.72, respectively. possibilities of using the scale and its limitations are discussed.

Abstract: this study aimed at analyzing the relationships between interests, personality and intelligence with adolescents. 211 high school students participated in this research, from paraná, mean age 16.5 years old (sd=0.5). students answered the "escala de aconselhamento profissional" and self directed search for measuring interests, the "bateria fatorial de personalidade", for personality assessment and the "bateria de provas de raciocínio", for cognitive assessment. factor analysis was conducted with scores of the four tests mentioned, and a six-factor solution was more coherent in theoretical and practical terms, in order to help understanding relationships between personality traits, interests and cognitive abilities. the interests' scores on the two tests were more related to each other, including some personality aspects, except for neuroticism and conscientiousness. intelligence tests were grouped in a single factor, showing no strong relation to interests or personality. the importance of using tests for measuring interests, personality and intelligence is discussed, considering vocational guidance context.

Abstract: the aim of this study was to analyze the association between self-efficacy for occupational activities and its sources and interest, which are important constructs for vocational guidance. two hundred eighty nine adolescents answered the self-efficacy scale for occupational activities (ssoa) and the self-directed search, and 107 answered the ssoa and the professional counseling scale. all participants lived in s?o paulo at the moment of the survey. there were significant correlations between self-efficacy and interests (r ranging from -0.25 to 0.27). realistic and social self-efficacy combined with gender showed a significant predictive power to their respective types of interest. we discussed the coherence between self-efficacy for occupational activities and their respective interests.

Abstract: self-efficacy for occupational activities and professional interests are described, respectively, as the confidence of youngsters in the performance of certain job activities and actions that they would like to carry on. this paper aimed at analyzing the mean differences in self-efficacy, its sources and professional interests regarding gender, school type and scholar grade. 333 students from high school students took part in this research, mean age 15,9 years old, 182 female, who answered eaaoc and sds that assess self-efficacy and interests. self-efficacy, classified by holland types, showed an irsaec pattern, while interests showed esiacr. there were significant differences in self-efficacy, in its sources and in the interests that were related to gender. there were no differences for self-efficacy due to school type or scholar grade. some sources of self-efficacy and some interest types showed mean differences due to scholar grade and type of school.

Abstract: Este estudo objetivou analisar a estrutura interna, a precis o e as diferen as de média por sexo e idade em uma escala de 10 itens para avalia o dos Cinco Grandes Fatores de Personalidade. Participaram 404 estudantes do ensino médio, com média de idade de 15,9 anos, do Estado de S o Paulo. A escala Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) é composta por 10 itens, que s o duplas de adjetivos e que representam os tra os de personalidade respondidos em escala Likert de 1 a 7. N o foi possível recuperar a estrutura de cinco fatores por meio da análise dos componentes principais, mas sim uma estrutura de três fatores que englobaram conteúdos de desejabilidade social, problemas de ajustamento e estabilidade emocional, com precis es entre 0,41 e 0,63. Além disso, houve diferen as significativas de média associadas à idade. Os resultados s o discutidos em termos das limita es do estudo bem como da escala utilizada. Este estudio tuvo objetivo analizar la estructura interna, precisión y las diferencias de acuerdo con género y edad en una escala de 10 ítems para evaluación de los cinco grandes factores de la personalidad. Participaron 404 estudiantes de la escuela secundaria, con una edad media de 15,9 a os, del estado de S o Paulo. La escala Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI), conformada por 10 ítems, que son pares de adjetivos que representan los rasgos de la personalidad bajo en una escala tipo Likert de 1 a 7. No fue posible recuperar la estructura de cinco factores a través del análisis de componentes principales, pero sí una estructura de tres factores que abarca el contenido de la deseabilidad social, problemas de ajuste y la estabilidad emocional, con la precisión entre 0,41 y 0,63. Además, fueron encontradas diferencias de medias significativas asociadas con la edad. Los resultados se discuten en relación a las limitaciones del estudio y escala. This study analyzes the internal structure, precision and differences of averages by gender and age on a 10-item scale, designed to assess the Big Five Personality traits. A total of 404 high school students, with an average age of 15.9 years, from S o Paulo, Brazil participated in the study. The Ten-Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) scale is comprised of pairs of adjectives representing personality traits arranged on a Likert scale varying from 1 to 7, measuring levels of agreement. Abstract: This study aimed at selecting items from the Agreeableness Factor Scale for obtaining a short version of this test that could keep adequate psychometric properties. One thousand one hundred participants composed the sample. Items were selected using a qualitative strategy, which focused on item content that was not related to clinical descriptions and a quantitative analysis based on Rasch's model. The scale was reduced from 70 to 28 items, based on these criteria. In order to check the psychometric properties of the short version, both versions were compared by Rasch indices and by reanalyzing validity studies conducted with the original scale. The short version kept good psychometric properties, which suggests the possibility of using it when there is time restriction.

Abstract: the use of psychometrically adjusted instruments to the context in which they will be used is important to trust the psychological assessments process. in professional counseling situations, such use has the same importance, since different constructs analyses must provide a better self-knowledge, facilitating an adequate professional choice. the goal of this study was to correlate different intelligence and vocational interests instruments, answered by 312 students from a vocational counseling process, with age average 16.13 years old (sd = 2.07). results showed significant correlations between bpr-5 and lip, in one hand, and between inv and angelini, in the other. new studies with larger and more geographically heterogeneous samples are suggested, aiming to get more validity evidences, mainly to the not approved instruments by the federal institution that regulates psychological test use.
Importancia e domínios de avalia??o psicológica: um estudo com alunos de Psicologia

Abstract: this study analyzed the level of importance that psychology students give to their competence and knowledge in psychological assessments. one hundred and twelve students from the central-west region of the country, mainly women, from all periods of the course, participated in the study.the questionnaire used was based on the definition of essential competencies as indicated by the american psychological association,and was composed by 20 items answered separately for competence and importance. it addressed themes like knowledge about psychological constructs and how to use and interpret tests, among others. items considered less important were "having statistical notions" and "knowing a wide range of tests". some contradictions were found when importance and knowledge were compared, as for example in the knowledge of statistical principles. the anova statistical analysis revealed few differences related to importance items between students of different years of the course, but most knowledge items showed significant differences.
