World Journal of Cardiovascular Diseases (WJCD) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/wjcd.2013.35058
Abstract: A young patient was presented to the emergency department with chest pain and palpitations. A transthoracic echocardiogram showed a right atrial mass. Coronary angiography showed a right coronary artery with collateral circulation to a large mass. The tumor could only be partially resected and the patient experienced persistent postoperative bleeding. We performed a new right coronary artery angiography which showed an important free extravasation of contrast into the pericardium through the collateral circulation. Using covered stents, the bleeding was controlled. The pathological examination performed later revealed a primary cardiac angiosarcoma. After asymptom-free survival of 14 months the patient presented bone metastases.

Latin american journal of aquatic research , 2008,
Abstract: a new record of schedophilus haedrichi is reported. the individual was caught on a hand line in the north colombian pacific ocean and constitutes the northernmost record of this species in the region. the specimen was compared morphologically and meristically with the only two specimens registered for colombia (in the reference collection of universidad del valle, colombia) and with the holotype specimen (instituto del mar del perú cat. n° 1221). possible causes of its appearance at this northern latitude are discussed and the catalogue data and geographical origin of the other two specimens in the collection are presented.

Abstract: omental infarction is a rare, little known process that can simulate other causes of abdominal pain and does not usually constitute a presumptive diagnosis. the greater omentum or epiplo?n, is a peritoneal fold made up of four layers. its function is to restrict the spread of infectious or inflammatory processes. it originates in the greater curvature of the stomach and hangs in front of the transverse colon and small intestines. we report a case of a 29 year old man who complained of abdominal pain in the left iliac fossa.

A new record of Schedophilus haedrichi is reported. Abstract: mucoceles of the paranasal sinuses are benign lesions but they can be destructive because they cause bone resorption. the location in a maxillary sinus and a traumatic origin are uncommon. we report a case of mucocele of the maxillary sinus 28 years after facial trauma. we analyzed the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of this type of lesions.

Mucoceles of the paranasal sinuses are benign lesions but they can be destructive because they cause bone resorption. The location in a maxillary sinus and a traumatic origin are uncommon. We report a case of mucocele of the maxillary sinus 28 years after facial trauma. We analyzed the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of this type of lesions.

Medicina Oral, Patología Oral y Cirugía Bucal (Internet) , 2007,
Abstract: chondromas are benign tumours composed of mature hyaline cartilage. we present here the first case in the english language medical literature of juxtaarticular chondroma of the temporomandibular joint in the parotid region. within the rarity of cartilage disorders of the temporo-mandibular joint (tmj), this particular condition is a diagnostic curiosity. the patient, a 54 year old woman, presented a right preauricular tumour of 3.5 cm. which had been developing for 4 years. it was not painful but there was a recent symptomology of tmj dysfunction, with pain and clicks. the diagnostic possibilities of a parotid pleomorphic adenoma and of a cartilage tumour of the tmj suggested a difficult preoperative differential diagnosis, which influenced our approach regarding therapy. the tumour was excised, preserving the parotid gland. this enabled us to confirm the histological diagnosis of chondroma, composed solely of chondroide tissue. we have described the clinical characteristics of our case, and carried out a review of the relevant literature, emphasising the differential diagnoses.
