Abstract: This essay was elaborated by the combination of two different moments; the first one related with the experience of the author in his labor as a university educator, and as a integrant and coordinator of the Curriculum Commission of the Social Work School at the University of Costa Rica. The second, based on this practices, propitiated by the reflections emanated from a group of study on curricular design, in the Center of Academic Evaluation of this University. Given this space for combine experience with reflection, permitted to retake essential labors that the docents can do to transform the curriculum, if it parts of a complex contextual and historic understanding of it. It’s concludes that in this sense, the curricular development and design, are two inseparable moments on who the docents can have an active and critique participation. Furthermore, the realized analysis, strongly embedded in the practice of the mentioned principles on this study, makes a concrete proposal of possible actions, whose viability increases if the professorship possesses the necessary formation, and a permanently self-critical and reflexive position.

Abstract: Resumen. Abstract. First of two articles describing the experience shared by a group of CIDE (School of Education at UNA, Costa Rica) scholars in conforming a team of researchers. The first points out not only how the idea was originated but also the different stages it went through and the strategies used to stimulated it. In addition, some suggestions are given so that future researches may benefit from them when facing similar tasks. The second article defines the methodological strategy adopted by the team and the constructive process that was followed to reach such methodological approach.
Morphological, sediment and soil chemical characteristics of dry tropical shallow reservoirs in the Southern Mexican Highlands

Journal of Limnology , 2011, DOI: 10.4081/jlimnol.2011.139
Abstract: The morphometry, sediment and soil chemical characteristics of eleven dry tropical shallow reservoirs situated in Southern Mexican Highlands were studied. The reservoirs are located at 1104 to 1183 meters above sea level in a sedimentary area. Seventeen morphometric and eight sediment and soil chemical parameters were measured. The results of the morphometric parameters showed that these reservoirs presented a soft and roughness bottom, with an ellipsoid form and a concave depression that permit the mix up of water and sediments, causing turbidity and broken thermal gradients; their slight slopes allowed the colonization of submerged macrophyte and halophyte plants and improved the incidence of sunlight on water surface increasing evaporation and primary productivity. Dry tropical shallow reservoirs have fluctuations in area, and volume according to the amount of rainfall, the effect of evaporation, temperature, lost volume for irrigation, and other causes. The sand-clay was the most important sediment texture and their values fluctuated with the flooded periods. The concentration-dilution cycle showed a direct relationship in the percentage of organic matter in the soil as well as with pH, soil nitrogen and phosphorus. El Tilzate, El Candelero and El Movil were related by the shore development and high concentrations of organic matter and nitrogen in the soil. Finally, we emphasize the importance of this study, in relation to possible future changes in morphometrical parameters as a consequence of human impact.

Research using experimental animal models is a tool that enables knowledge to be acquired before it is applied in human beings. Clinical guidelines are needed when starting experimental research work on animals. The purpose of this paper is to present an illustrative guide to the dissection of the most important facial structures in pigs, so that it can serve as a basis for future experimental works.
Familias ante la parálisis cerebral
Madrigal Mu?oz,Ana;
Intervención Psicosocial , 2007, DOI: 10.4321/S1132-05592007000100005
Abstract: cerebral palsy is a neurological disorder affecting 2 of every 1000 newborns in spain. nowadays, cerebral palsy is the most frequent physical disability with or without intellectual/sensory deficit, depending of the brain area affected. since this disease shows up during the early childhood, it will be identified by the family as causing a strong emotional impact. the way the family faces the situation will determine the child?s physical, psychological and social development -and everyone else?s life in the family. cerebral palsy can be one of the reasons for care need. caregivers must be provided with enough personal and social resources to let them take care of these persons without being absorbed all the time. the recent adoption of the dependence act gives an opportunity to the persons affected and their families to meet their needs.
