Advertising Effectiveness: An Approach Based on What Consumers Perceive and What Advertisers Need  [PDF]
Macarena Estévez, Davide Fabrizio
Open Journal of Business and Management (OJBM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojbm.2014.23022
Abstract: This paper examines how advertising effectiveness can be defined and measured. We propose a 3D-effectiveness key performance indicator involving the weighted prominence of three factors: recall, brand image and buying intention. In this way, the indicator proposed improves the metrics of this type known in the Spanish market. Using experimental data about 20 fixed brands and other 12 variable brands collected along the 52 weeks of a year, we find that this indicator reflects consumer’s perceptions and that it fits advertising company’s needs. We have developed a web tool to provide the market with a benchmark measure of advertising effectiveness. Finally, we discuss future research lines.

DEMOCRACIA AGREGATIVA Y DELIBERATIVA: CíRCULO PRáCTICO INEVITABLE
MAREY,MACARENA;
Ideas y Valores , 2011,
Abstract: the paper sets forth programmatically a series of conditions necessary for a deliberative theory of democracy to be able to account for the normative value of the two fundamental principles of democracy: human rights and popular sovereignty. the starting point is the question of whether aggregate conceptions are capable of designing collective decision-making procedures in which those two principles are mutually entailed. the article emphasizes the importance for democratic procedures to include a reciprocal justification requirement that cannot be fully satisfied by aggregate or agonistic conceptions.
Bestiario ciberpunk: sobre el imbunche y otros monstruos en Ygdrasil de Jorge Baradit
Areco,Macarena;
Aisthesis , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-71812011000100010
Abstract: the following paper analyzes the representation of the imbunche, as well as other fragmented or symbiotic beings that are present in the novel ygdrasil (2005) by jorge baradit, as a manner of imagining subjectivities. one of the most important characters of this novel is the religious and syndical leader of a global megacorporation named "el imbunche", from which we can find readings to look for characteristics of monstrosity in the rest of the characters of the novel. this analysis will allow us to conclude that this figure portrays, once more, baradit's productivity, since he uses this strategy to represent the enslaved subject in late capitalism, especially the one that, connected to computer networks, is exposed to the colonization of the body regarding informatics and biotechnology.

Ciudad, espacio y ciberespacio en la ciencia ficción chilena reciente: Tres versiones del laberinto City, space and cyberspace in recent chilean science fiction: Three versions of the labyrinth
MACARENA ARECO
Acta Literaria , 2008,
The objective of this paper is to inquire into the modes of representation of space in three chilean science fiction novels published since the end of the eighties. The analysis reveals that the imaginary horizon of the stories could be considered as thought in continuum from city-ghetto -El ruido del tiempo (1987) by Claudio Jaque- to a totalitarian scene of the city, the cyberspace and the body colonized by information technologies -Ygdrasil (2005) by Jorge Baradit-, including the apocalyptic metropolis, in the process of disintegration of the bicentenary -2010: Chile en llamas (1998) by Dario Oses-.
