Abstract: in order to contribute to the knowledge on the distribution of the worm, m. viatrix, of the pineapples in trujillo state, the varieties attacked, and to determine some factors that allow its dispersion, there were settled traps with attractive based in hydrolyzed protein (a month/parcel) in pineapples farms in the agricultural municipalities of the state. additionally, in a random way, we run out interviews to farmers, buyers, and salesmen of pineapples to know about fitosanitary issues of the fruits, destiny of the fresh product, and handling of the rejected ones. to evaluate the distribution of the worm we took into account the presence of the fly in the traps, the entrance of pineapples samples into the laboratory of inia-trujillo, and the information from the interviewed people. the results shown that m. viatrix is spread all over the municipalities where pineapples is cultivated (andrés bello, carache, carvajal, miranda motatán, pampán, pampanito, rangel, sucre, trujillo), which are located from 50 to 1300 meters above the sea level, and attack all the varieties of pineapples (yellow valera, red valera, joba, capachera, puerto rico). moreover we found that the truck drivers are the main way of dispersion, since they take the fresh product (fruit) to the sales point through the different states, and we found that the residues (sobremature pineapples) normally is throw away near the sites of sale.

Ectrodactyly-Ectodermal dysplasia-Fissure (EEC) is a condition characterized for the presence of this triad. Remote Sensing , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/rs4030745
Abstract: This paper presents a novel method for estimating the absolute phase offset in interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) measurements for digital elevation model (DEM) generation. The method is based on “phase-offset functions (POF),” relating phase offset to topographic height, and are computed for two different overlapping interferometric data acquisitions performed with considerably different incidence angles over the same area of interest. For the purpose of extended mapping, opposite viewing directions are preferred. The two “phase-offset functions” are then linearly combined, yielding a “combined phase-offset function (CPOF)”. The intersection point of several straight lines (CPOFs), corresponding to different points in the overlap area allows for solving the phase offset for both acquisitions. Aiming at increasing performance and stability, this intersection point is found by means of averaging many points and applying principal component analysis. The method is validated against traditional phase offset estimation with corner reflectors (CR) using real OrbiSAR-1 data in X- and P-band.

Beijing Law Review (BLR) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/blr.2016.71007
Abstract: This paper focuses on some traces of the challenge of the government of the dispersed population into a larger territory of the Spanish Monarchy throughout 16 - 19 century. The main subject is the creation and implementation of a minor justice: the “alcalde de la santa hermandad” (judge of the brotherhood). This rural judge appeared early at Santa Fe and Buenos Aires and plays like an articulator between urban and rural populations. Based on a large base of research, this work shows what was the role that the office holders allowed to play in the political process equipment planning at the Gobernación of Buenos Aires.

Abstract: the cultivation of pineapple, ananas comosus l., represents the main source of income for 1800 familiestrujillanas that are dedicated to this work. moreover, this activity is source of direct and indirect jobs in theproductive chain. at a national level trujillo isconsidered as the second state in producing this crop.since its detection in 1998, the fly of the pineapplemelanoloma viatrix hendel (diptera: richardiidae), hasbeen found causing damages in this crop, affectingseriously the production and commercialization. amongthe objectives of investigation of the inia-trujillo, forthe integral management of this problem, search fornatural enemies of the melanoloma viatrix is one of the most important. in august of 2005, larvaes of thefly were extracted from a collection of infested fruits, and placed in chambers until the pupa state: into thechambers there was a sterilized and moisted substrate of sawdust and sand (1:1). after the pupas wereobtained, these were exposed during three consecutivedays, to natural environmental conditions in theneighborhood of the laboratory (25°c, 60% rh), toallow parasitization. after that, the pupas wereindividually store in the laboratory until emerging.among the results, we found that there is a potentialparasitoide of pupas of m. viatrix, identified as spalangia drosophilae ashmead (hymenoptera: pteromalidae). a brief information of its parasitism isoffered, as well as some photographs.

Agronomía Tropical , 2007,
Abstract: to identify the causal agent of damage in stems of tomato (lycopersicum esculentum mill.), there were analyzed vegetal samples brought in by producers to the unit of fitosanitary diagnosis of the instituto nacional de investigaciones agricolas (inia) in trujillo, and samples took by technician of the inia in different areas of the state where tomato is grown. in addition also weeds with symptoms of damage bordering the cultivated areas were collected. larvae and pupas obtained of the vegetal samples were placed in chambers of young and emergency to be observed, and to obtaining their adults. the larvae and adults were identified through taxonomic keys, and by comparison with specimens of the museum of the institute of zoology agricola (miza) of the central university of venezuela, and of the museum of agricultural interest of the inia. the presence of melanagromyza tomaterae steyskal (díptera: agromyzidae) a stem borer of the tomato is registered. from the young a pteromalidae (probably syntomopus sp.) and a figitidae: eucoilinae (tribliographa brasiliensis ihering) were obtained. this last was considered as a new report. the weeds were identified as hyptis suaveolens l. (lamiaceae), amaranthus spinosus l. (amaranthaceae) and bidens pilosa l. (asteraceae), all of them are new registries of association with the fly. a brief information and photographies on the damage is shown in this report.

PLOS ONE , 2013, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0070482
Abstract: Background Delayed nephrology consultation (NC) seems to be associated with worse prognosis in critically ill acute kidney injury (AKI) patients. Design, Setting, Participants, & Measurements The aims of this study were to analyze factors related with timing of NC and its relation with AKI patients' outcome in intensive care units of a tertiary hospital. AKI was defined as an increase ≥50% in baseline serum creatinine (SCr). Early NC and delayed NC were defined as NC performed before and two days after AKI diagnosis day. Multivariable logistic regression and propensity scores (PS) were used to adjust for confounding and selection biases. Hospital mortality and dialysis dependence on hospital discharge were the primary outcomes. Results A total of 366 AKI patients were analyzed and NCs were carried out in 53.6% of the patients. Hospital mortality was 67.8% and dialysis required in 31.4% patients (115/366). Delayed NCs (34%) occurred two days after AKI diagnosis day. This group presented higher mortality (OR: 4.04/CI: 1.60–10.17) and increased dialysis dependence (OR: 3.00/CI: 1.43–6.29) on hospital discharge. Four variables were retained in the PS model for delayed NC: diuresis (1000 ml/24 h - OR: 1.92/CI: 1.27–2.90), SCr (OR: 0.49/CI: 0.32–0.75), surgical AKI (OR: 3.67/CI: 1.65–8.15), and mechanical ventilation (OR: 2.82/CI: 1.06–7.44). After correction by PS, delayed NC was still associated with higher mortality (OR: 3.39/CI: 1.24–9.29) and increased dialysis dependence (OR: 3.25/CI: 1.41–7.51). Delayed NC was associated with increased mortality either in dialyzed patients (OR: 1.54/CI: 1.35–1.78) or non-dialyzed patients (OR: 2.89/CI: 1.00–8.35). Conclusion Delayed NC was associated with higher mortality and increased dialysis dependence rates in critically ill AKI patients at hospital discharge. Further studies are necessary to ascertain whether this effect is due to delayed nephrology intervention or residual confounding factors.
