Abstract: Studies on several ways to control pests and use of natural enemies require arthropods in quantity and quality. Through this need, the process of rearing and multiplication of arthropods has over the years, going through significant changes. Techniques for rearing and multiplication of insects are very important for biological studies of insect pests and methods of control. To establishment and definition of a methodology for multiplication has been a great challenge in studies of biology and rearing of insects, mainly due to the difficulty of its establishment of the populations in green house and field conditions. To adjust a methodology for multiplication of Aphis gossypii (Hemiptera: Aphididae) it was established a colony this is insects in laboratory conditions under cotton plants (Gossypium hirsutum L. cv. latifolium Hutch). This methodology has as objective high survival and the improvement of the use of plants for a longer period. With the development of techniques and resources used in the rearing, it was observed an increase in the number of individuals from the better use of plants and lower costs. The rearing was maintained in plants under conditions of laboratory and protected to prevent the migration and infestation of other species of aphids and natural enemies. After the establishment of the rearing it was observed the total control of the parasitism of A. gossypii under experimental conditions.

Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2012000300003
Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the occurrence of thrips species and the population fluctuation, of the most frequent and abundant ones, in different management systems and phenological stages of grapevine. the experiment was carried out in petrolina, pe, brazil, in five vineyards - three with the cultivar sugraone (certified, semi-conventional, and conventional) and two with the cultivar brasil (certified and conventional). leaves and flowers were collected during two subsequent years (2008-2010) from 15 plants. correlation analyses were performed between the means of thrips infestation and the meteorological variables temperature, relative humidity, and rainfall. the average number of larvae and adult thrips was compared between the management systems and phenological stage. the thrips species found on leaves were: heliothrips haemorrhoidalis, retithrips syriacus, selenothrips rubrocinctus, frankliniella schultzei, frankliniella sp., and scolothrips sp., as well as nymphs of aelothripidae. on flowers, only the thripidae species was found: f. schultzei, f. brevicaulis, f. rodeos, f. gardenia, and frankliniella sp. there was no correlation between temperature, relative air humidity, and rainfall with the average number of thrips. there is a thrips species complex on grapevine, and plant phenology affects the abundance of the insects.

Nunes, Endson S.;Brown, Judith K.;Moreira, Adriana G.;Watson, Gillian;Louren??o, André L.;Piedade, S?nia M.S.;Rezende, Jorge A. M.;Vieira, Maria L.C.;
Neotropical Entomology , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2008000600021
Abstract: this note is the first report of bemisia tabaci (gennadius) biotype b colonizing passionvine in brazil. we examined the colonization of nine passiflora species by a wild b type population under greenhouse conditions. p. amethystina mikan was the most preferred species for oviposition and colonization, whereas p. suberosa l., p. coriacea juss. and two commercially cultivated species, p. alata curtis and p. edulis sims f. flavicarpa degener, were mostly uncolonised. p. morifolia mast., p. cincinnata mast., p. foetida l. and p. caerulea l. showed intermediate levels of colonization. such differential colonization might suggest some degree of resistance by certain passiflora species or oviposition preference by b. tabaci.

Abstract: the separation, characterization and functional assay of the inflammatory infiltrate present in the site of the lesion has been useful in the study of many diseases. histochemical techniques for esterase and acid phosphatase, as well as the phagocytose test and the giemsa staining were applied to the study of the spleen-cell population of ten mice. a good characterization of the components of the phagocytic mononuclear system and the identification and quantification of the total cell population were obtained.
Rhetorics of walking in Santa Rita: narrating spaces in the Grande Sert?o Veredas national park
Jacinto,Andréa Borghi Moreira;
Teoria & Sociedade , 2006,
Abstract: this article is based on a research developed during 1996/97 in the grande sert?o veredas national park / mg, focused on different groups involved in the process of implantation of the conservation unit. inspired by the analogy developed by michel de certeau between the act of speaking and the act of walking, i describe some of the routes in santa rita, an area of the national park, walking in the patrol, formal and programmed itinerary of the park guards. following this spatial practice and walking through a way articulated by crossed references - from guards, inhabitants, researcher - it was possible to register memories and narratives motivated by the paths. the option of taking these routes and movements as an analytical unit, seeking the style suggested by the 'rhetoric of walking', permitted the perception of different accounts from common steps, concerning both links between memory and territoriality and the connections between traditional context of the locality and new social/cultural contexts, in this case, the expansion of the agricultural frontier in the 1970s and the creation of the park in the 1980s.

Abstract: objective: to quantify the number of asthma attacks treated in the emergency room of a public hospital and to study seasonal fluctuations, taking into consideration the local climate, which is characterized by having only two seasons: a rainy/humid season and a dry season. methods: a retrospective survey was conducted in a community general hospital. a total of 37,642 emergency room consultations related to asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, upper-airway infection or other respiratory complaints were registered during a two year period. the data from each patient chart were collected for later analysis. results: among the respiratory conditions treated, asthma (24.4%) was the second most common diagnosis. most of the asthma consultations (56.6%) involved children below the age of fifteen. regression analysis revealed a seasonal variation in the number of asthma consultations, which was significantly higher in march (p = 0.0109), the low points being in august (p = 0.0485) and september (p = 0.0169). the correlation between climate and asthma was most significant in relation to changes in humidity, although the effect was delayed by one month (p = 0.0026) or two months (p = 0.0002). conclusion: visits to the emergency room for the treatment of asthma attacks were more frequent during the rainy season, increasing at one to two months after the annual increase in humidity and decreasing in the dry season. this positive correlation raises the possibility of a causal relationship with proliferation of house dust mites and molds.

Psychology (PSYCH) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2017.88080
Abstract: The definition of the psychoanalytic method as an investigational method of unconscious processes allows for the interrogation of what would be the different possibilities and the listening devices available to psychoanalysis when it aims to research social phenomena. Around this question, the present article intends to explore the main methods of capturing the history of individuals, namely, the biography/autobiography, the testimony and the oral history, in order to identify the convergences and divergences of each one of these methods in relation to the psychoanalytical proposition. Based on such analysis, we endorse the narrative memoir as a genre that resembles the psychoanalytical clinical case construction, inasmuch as it considers the subjective and political dimensions that pervade the unconscious processes, without ignoring the dimension of the real displayed in the points of fiction, fixation and fantasy displayed in the researched stories.
