FLORESCIMENTO E FRUTIFICA O DE MANGUEIRA COM USO DE PACLOBUTRAZOL, ETHEPHON E NITRATO DE CáLCIO

Abstract: Este trabalho objetivou testar diferentes doses de Paclobutrazol (PBZ), ethephon e nitrato de cálcio na indu o do florescimento e na produ o da mangueira (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Tommy Atkins, localizada no pomar didático da ESAM em Mossoró-RN, no ano de 1999/2000. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos casualizados, no esquema fatorial 2x2x3, assim distribuídos: T1 1000 mg.L-1 de PBZ+ 2% de nitrato de cálcio; T2 1000 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 2% de nitrato de cálcio + 1,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon; T3 1000 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 2% de nitrato de cálcio + 3,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon; T4 1000 mg. L-1 de PBZ + 3% de nitrato de cálcio; T5 1000 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 3% de nitrato de cálcio + 1,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon; T6 1000 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 3% de nitrato de cálcio + 3,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon ; T7 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 2% de nitrato de cálcio; T8 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 2% de nitrato de cálcio + 1,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon; T9 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 2% de nitrato de cálcio + 3,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon; T10 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ+ 3% de nitrato de cálcio; T11 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 3% de nitrato de cálcio + 1,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon.L; T12 1500 mg.L-1 de PBZ + 3% de nitrato de cálcio + 3,0 mL.L-1 de ethephon, com 4 repeti es. A mangueira teve um maior florescimento (81,75%) com 2% de nitrato de cálcio e 1500 mg. L-1 de PBZ, o número de frutos por planta teve seu maior valor (86 frutos) com 3% de nitrato de cálcio e 1500 mg L-1 de PBZ e o peso do fruto foi maior (425,5g) na dosagem de 3mL.L-1 de ethephon. Os produtos aplicados n o diferenciaram entre si em rela o à produ o.

Abstract: an experiment was conducted in order to verify the effect of different concentrations of paclobutrazol, ethephon and potassium nitrate in the production of mango cv. tommy atkins at agricultural area of mossoró-assu. the experiment was carried out in 1999, under an experimental design of randomized blocks, with an factorial arrangement of 3x2x3 (dose of paclobutrazol: 0 mg.l-1; 1000 mg.l-1 and 1500 mg.l-1); 2 (potassium nitrate concentrations: 3 and 4%); 3 (dose of ethephon: 0,0 ml.l-1; 0,50 ml.l- and 1,0 ml.l-) with four replicates. the dosage of 1500 mg.l-1 of paclobutrazol caused the largest reduction of plants growth. this product showed good growth inhibition characteristics. the kno3 and ethephon, separately, did not influence none of the evaluated characteristics.
Substratos na produ??o de mudas de mangebeira em tubetes

Abstract: mangabeira (hancornia speciosa gomes) is a native fruit species from the brazilian savannah. its sexual propagation depends on a suitable substrate, because it interferes with seed germination and seedling establishment. the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different substrates for growing mangabeira seedlings in plastic tubes. the experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in cassilandia, mato grosso do sul state, brazil. the experimental design used was randomized blocks, with four replications and 15 seeds per plot. five substrates were evaluated: a (washed sand + plantmax? + soil, 1:1:3 v:v:v), b (carbonized rice husk + plantmax? + soil, 1:1:3), c (carbonized rice husk + earthworm humus + soil, 1:1:3), d (bovine manure + plantmax? + soil, 1:1:3), and e (bovine manure + soil, 2:3). the following parameters were evaluated: plant emergence percentage, emergence speed index, mortality percentage, seedling height, stem diameter, root length, number of leaves, chlorophyll leaf index, and shoot, root, and whole plant dry mass. from the results, substrates c, d, and e can be used for growing mangabeira seedlings in plastic tubes.

Abstract: the objective was to analyze the economic profitability of yellow passion fruit under different plant formations. the experiment was conducted in commercial orchard in the city of lavras, mg (21o 14' s, 45o 58' w, 910 m altitude), for two production cycles (2006 and 2007). the treatments were the formation of plants with different number of tertiary branches (t1= 40, t2= 30, t3= 24, t4= 20 and t5= 14 per plant). the design was randomized blocks with four replications of three plants. the economic and operational costs were higher for more drastic pruning systems (20 and 14 branches per plant), which presented higher production cost and lower productivity. the net income was negative for systems of less tertiary branches (t4 and t5). the systems with less drastic pruning had positive net income ranging from r$ 1,861.06/ha in t3 to r$ 3,895.74/ha (2006/2007) in t2. in t1, t2 and t3 the economic situation result was super normal profits, indicating that the activity is getting returns higher than the best alternatives for capital employment. however, the treatments t4 and t5, results were positive and negative residues, respectively, covering only part of the farming costs, with trend that the producer to seek better alternatives for its capital application, with abandonment of activity.

Abstract: the present work was conducted at governador dix-sept rosado county, microregion a?u-apodi, in the state of rio grande do norte and its objective was to study the effects of sprinkler irrigation system on the density of the root system of 'pacovan' banana plants. the experiment followed a completely randomized block design, in a split-plot scheme, with five replications. the treatments were two sampling groups, taken per plant, and in the opposite side of the inflorescence emission, forming between them an angle of 45°. in each sampling group, four samples containing soil material were collected at intervals of 20 cm, so the first was distant 30 cm and the last 90 cm from the pseudostem. data analysis showed that occurred a linear reduction in root fresh weight and in lenght of roots density, in replications to soil depth. for the distance from the plant pseudostem there were no significant differences between samples, both for root fresh weight and lenght of roots density.
UTILIZATION OF MAGNESIUM TERMOPHOSPHATE IN THE PRODUCTION OF LOQUAT ROOTSTOCK SEEDLINGS UTILIZA O DE TERMOFOSFATO MAGNESIANO NA PRODU O DE MUDAS PORTA-ENXERTO DE NESPEREIRA

Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate the reaction of loquat rootstock seedlings to different doses of magnesium thermophosphate. Five magnesium thermophosphate doses in the substrate were studied: 0.0 kg m-3; 2.5 kg m-3; 5.0 kg m-3; 7.5 kg m-3; and 10 kg m-3. The experimental design was complete randomized blocks, with five treatments, four replications and five plants per plot. When the rootstock seedlings were in conditions of being sent to the field, 180 days after sowing, the following variables were evaluated: plant height (cm), root length (cm), number of leaves per plant, and aerial part, root, and total dry matter (g). It was possible to verify that, for the formation of loquat rootstock seedlings, the use of the thermophosphate in doses of up to 5.0 kg m-3 is feasible, generating seedlings with a higher level of aerial part and root dry matter. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a resposta de mudas porta-enxerto de nespereira à utiliza o de diferentes doses de termofosfato magnesiano. Foram estudadas cinco doses do termofosfato no substrato: 0,0 kg m-3; 2,5 kg m-3; 5,0 kg m-3; 7,5 kg m-3; e 10 kg m-3. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos, quatro repeti es e parcelas de cinco plantas. Quando as mudas estavam em condi es de serem enviadas ao campo, 180 dias após a semeadura, foram analisadas as seguintes variáveis: altura da planta (cm), comprimento de raiz (cm), número de folhas por planta e massa seca da parte aérea, da raiz e total (g). Verificou-se que, para a forma o de mudas porta-enxerto de nespereira, é viável a utiliza o do termofosfato magnesiano, em doses de até 5 kg m-3 no substrato, o que proporciona mudas com maior massa seca de parte aérea e raízes. Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of doses of organic matter and single superphosphate on the production of yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa Deg) seedlings. An experiment was carried out in a screen nursery at 50% shading, at the Agricultural Production Sector , Universidade Estadual do Mato Grosso do Sul, Cassilandia (UUC), Brazil. Four doses of single superphosphate (0.0 kg.m-3; 2.5 kg.m-3; 5.0 kg.m-3; and 10.0 kg.m-3 of substratum), and three doses of organic matter (0%; 20%, and 40%) of the total volume of the substratum were tested. The organic matter was applied as poultry litter. A randomized block design with a 4 x 3 factorial scheme was used, with four replications and seven plants per plot. It was observed that the single superphosphate application at 7.7 kg.m-3 and 40% of organic matter per 1.0 m3 of substratum, provided more vigorous yellow passion fruit seedlings. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes doses de superfosfato simples e matéria organica na produ o de mudas de maracujazeiro ‘amarelo’. Conduziu-se um experimento, em condi o de viveiro telado, com sombrite 50%, no Setor de Produ o Agrícola da Universidade Estadual do Mato Grosso do Sul, Unidade Universitária de Cassilandia-MS (UUC). Foram testadas quatro doses de superfosfato simples (0,0 kg.m-3; 2,5 kg.m-3; 5,0 kg.m-3; e 10,0 kg.m-3 de substrato) e três doses de matéria organica (0%, 20% e 40%) do volume total do substrato. A matéria organica foi aplicada na forma de cama de frango. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 4 x 3, com quatro repeti es e sete plantas por parcela. Verificou-se que a aplica o de superfosfato simples, na dose de 7,7 kg.m-3 e de 40% de cama de frango por 1,0 m3 de substrato, proporcionou a obten o de mudas mais vigorosas do maracujazeiro amarelo. Abstract: With the objective to evaluate the development of uvaia using potassium chloride, thisexperiment was installed in the Sector of Fruticultura of the Federal University of Lavras, with four doses ofpotassium chloride (0; 1,0; 2,0; 4,0 kg m-3). After 90 days of the sowing, the following data had been collected:average height of the aerial part and root (cm); average leaf number; average dry mass of the root and the aerialpart (g). They had been found resulted significant for length of the aerial part, length of root. The KCl promotedgood results in production of uvaia changes.Com o objetivo de avaliar o desenvolvimento de porta-enxertos de uvaia adubados com cloreto depotássio, foi instalado experimento no Setor de Fruticultura da Universidade Federal de Lavras, com quatrodoses de cloreto de potássio (0; 1,0; 2,0; 4,0 Kg m-3). Após 90 dias da semeadura, coletaram-se os seguintesdados biométricos: altura média da parte aérea e raíz (cm); número médio de folhas; massa seca média da raiz eda parte aérea (g). Abstract: Objetivando avaliar a viabilidade de diferentes substratos e recipientes na forma o de mudas de mamoeiro 'Sunrise Solo', realizou-se o presente experimento em condi es de casa de vegeta o, no Pomar da Universidade Federal de Lavras-UFLA. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4x3, com quatro repeti es e cinco plantas por parcela. Os tratamentos constituíram-se dos seguintes substratos: Plantimaxa; substrato A (esterco de curral + carv o vegetal + solo e areia na propor o de 2:1:1:1 v/v; substrato B (vermicomposto + carv o vegetal + solo e areia na propor o de 1:1:1:1 v/v ) e substrato C (Plantimaxa + carv o vegetal + solo e areia na propor o de 1:1:1:1 v/v); e dos seguintes recipientes: saco de polietileno com de 750 ml, bandeja de isopor com capacidade de 70 ml/célula de capacidade e tubetes de 50 ml. Foram avaliados altura das mudas, número de folhas, matéria fresca e seca da parte aérea e raiz. Pelos resultados, concluiu-se que o recipiente saco de polietileno, juntamente com o substrato A, foram os que apresentaram resultados favoráveis para todas as características avaliadas, e o substrato C proporcionou resultados desfavoráveis ao desenvolvimento das mudas.
Germination of seeds and production of seedlings of lettuce cultivars at different substrates / Germina o da semente e produ o de mudas de cultivares de alface em diferentes substratos

Abstract: The aim of this paper was to evaluate the effects of the combinations of substrata on germination and development of seedlings of lettuce cultivars. The experiment was carried out in a nursery, in Mato Grosso do Sul State University. There were compared the following combinations of substrata: washed sand + earthworm humus (2:1); manure bovine + earthworm humus (2:1); Plantmax + earthworm humus (2:1); washed sand + Plantmax (2:1) and manure bovine + Plantmax (2:1), and three lettuce cultivars: Crespa sem cabe a, Americana Júlia and Babá de Ver o. The experimental design was entirely at random, in a 5x3 factorial outline, with four replications and 16 seeds per plot. There were considered for evaluation 10 central seedlings per plot. The characteristics evaluated were: germination percentage (%), index of germination speed (IVE) and dry mass of the whole seedling (g). For all the analyzed variables, the cultivars Babá de Ver o and Crespa sem cabe a presented the best results. Manure + humus was the best substratum to obtain seedling with larger development (vigor), althout it did not increase IVE and germination percentage. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar os efeitos de diferentes combina es de substratos na gemina o e desenvolvimento de mudas de diferentes cultivares de alface. O experimento foi instalado e conduzido em viveiro telado (sombrite), em área experimental da Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul, Unidade de Cassilandia-MS. Compararam-se as seguintes combina es de substratos: areia lavada + húmus de minhoca (2:1), esterco bovino + húmus de minhoca (2:1), Plantmax + húmus de minhoca (2:1), areia lavada + Plantmax (2:1) e esterco bovino + Plantmax (2:1), e três cultivares de alface: Crespa sem cabe a, Americana Júlia e Babá de Ver o. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 5 x 3, com quatro repeti es e 16 sementes por parcela. Foram consideradas para avalia o, as 10 plantulas centrais da parcela. Avaliaram-se as características: porcentagem de germina o (%), índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE) e massa seca da plantula inteira (g). Para todas as variáveis analisadas, as cultivares Babá de Ver o e Crespa sem cabe a foram as que apresentaram os melhores resultados. Esterco + húmus é o substrato ideal para se obter plantulas com maior massa seca, que implica indiretamente em maior vigor, apesar do mesmo n o favorecer o IVE e a porcentagem de germina o.
