MARíA áNGELES LóPEZ CABARCOS,PAULA VáZQUEZ RODRíGUEZ,CARLOS MONTES PI?EIRO
Revista Galega de Economía , 2012,
Abstract: This paper analyzes the victim profile of mobbing among a sample of Galician working population, with special attention to gender differences. The results show significant differences between men and women in relation to the mobbing incidence and the type and seriousness of the behaviours suffered. In particular, women are more affected by the processes of psychological harassment than men and they suffer a greater number of behaviours although less intense. In the case of women, the behaviors suffered are more related to the personal sphere, while men suffer work-related behaviours. In both cases, the victims indicate envy as a cause of mobbing, who choose to act passively to attack the aggressor, normally a superior.

ABSTRACT: In the life of the Argentine poet Juan Gelman (1930), the traumatic experience of exile informs not only an important part of his production, the one that falls between 1975 and 1988, but also, and fundamentaly, it establishes the displacement to areas of significance in which language is also the rejected , the empty-passion , the sign of an absence that does not finish writing itself , in his own words. From this, one discovers the importance of his encounter with Spanish mystical poetry, to the extent that the mystic is estranged from God (Citations and Comentaries, 1982) and with Sephardic poetry (Dibaxu, 1994), as if the extreme solitude of exile compelled me to search for roots in language, the deepest and most estranged from language .

ABSTRACT: Starting from an empirical research using qualitative methods, this article analyzes the formation of organizations and collective actions in different social stratums in the city of Lima. The dairy poverty which also affects the crisis of the masculine identity and female self-respect; the relationship between the traditional communitarian culture of indigenour origin and the atomization of the urban society; and the linkage between the organizations of the civil society and the political system in the Peruvian historical context. All of them are the most important factors in order to interpret the present and the potentialities of the collectiva action in Lima.

Revista de Psicología del Trabajo y de las Organizaciones , 2008, DOI: 10.4321/S1576-59622008000100003
Abstract: the aim of this study is the characterization of the processes of mobbing among administration and services staff in the university of galicia. a sample of 321 subjects was surveyed. results show that a significant percentage of workers perceive themselves as victims of mobbing regardless the gender. the most frequent types of behaviors have to do with both the personal and the professional spheres. the victim?s causal attributions refer to aspects related to the organization and deterioration of the work climate. as main consequences of mobbing, victims point out aspects related to the psychological and emotional health -being the passive strategy (no reaction) the most used to protect themselves from these attacks.

Revista de Psicología del Trabajo y de las Organizaciones , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1576-59622009000300004
Abstract: the aim of this work is the validation of the galician version of the cisneros mobbing measurement scale, made up of 43 items that measure the mobbing frequency using a scale of 7 points, and at the same time allows the identification of the potential responsibles. so, we carried out a exploratory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis in a multi-sectorial sample of the galician active population. the results of the exploratory factor analysis indicate the existence of five main factors which explain 60.31% of the total variance and show a high reliability of the scale (a=.96). subsequently, we compare the three models fit using confirmatory factor analysis. the results indicate that the correlated five-factor model provided the best fit to the data, giving empirical support to the five-factor structure obtained in the exploratory factor analysis.

Modern Chemotherapy (MC) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/mc.2012.12003
Abstract: A 64-year-old woman with IgA kappa multiple myeloma was treated with thalidomide-dexa- methasone. Due to progression of the disease, bortezomib, doxorubicin and dexamethasone were administered, followed by autologous stem cell transplantation. Although near-complete remission was achieved, 5 months later, neuro- logical symptoms appeared and the patient was diagnosed with multiple myeloma with cells in- filtrating the spinal cord. Bis-chloronitrosourea, bortezomib and lenalidomide were then admin- istered and although the patient remained neu- rologically asymptomatic, she died 3 months later becausee of disease progression. Lena- lidomide entered into the cerebrospinal fluid (confirmed by ultrasensitive high-performance liquid chromatography), although did not im- prove the poor prognosis of multiple myeloma involving the central nervous system.

The portacaval sham operation in rats affects acquisition but not memory of an active avoidance task.

Revista Iberoamericana de Psicología y Salud , 2010,
Abstract: Hepatic encephalopathy is one of the most important diseases and is the focus of investigation by many research groups. One of the most frequently used models is the portocaval shunt. This requires a surgically intervened group and also a sham operated group as control. Our objective was to examine whether the sham operation had physiological or behavioural consequences for the animals. Two groups of rats were studied: rats that had undergone a sham operation consisting in a laparotomy followed by clamping of the portal vein and inferior vena cava for 15 min; and an unoperated control group. The animals were then submitted to behavioural tests and plasma testosterone and corticosterone levels were determined. The sham-operated rats behaved slightly differently to the control rats in the open field. They tended to walk more in the central area. In the Morris pool, they learnt the task one day later than the control group. In the associative learning test, the sham operation prevented rats from being able to learn the task. However, the sham operation did not interfere with the rats remembering a previously learnt task. The sham group also presented higher levels of plasma corticosterone than controls. It seems necessary to reconsider what would constitute the most appropriate control group for portacaval shunt.
Toxocara canis y asma bronquial Toxocara canis and bronchial asthma

Medicina (Buenos Aires) , 2010,
In order to evaluate the association between the infection by Toxocara canis and the symptoms of asthma in children from a subtropical region with high prevalence of toxocariasis, 47 asthmatic children and 53 non-asthmatics as a control group were studied. A complete physical examination was performed and clinical and epidemiological data were registered. In asthmatic children the frequency and severity of symptoms were classified in grades I to IV. The presence of anti-Toxocara canis antibodies in both groups was evaluated employing a solid phase ELISA method with excretion/secretion antigens, and total Ig E was also measured. Results showed a total seropositivity of 55%, 57.4% in children with asthma and 52.8% in the control group. Among asthmatics with severe symptoms (grade II, III and IV), there was a 67.7% of seropositivity while in children with symptoms of grade I there was a 37.5% (p = 0.0470). The infection with T. canis could act as a co-factor increasing the severity of the symptoms of bronchial asthma.
