Abstract: Benjamin Britten’s opera A Midsummer Night’s Dream was composed and first performed in 1960, at a time when the performing arts were undergoing massive changes. While keeping the original text both as a pedagogical act and an act of allegiance, Britten nonetheless broke with the established aesthetic tradition of staging Shakespeare. He thus managed to create an innovative dramatic art capable of paving the way for other theatrical dramatic arts and for a different reading of Shakespeare’s plays, both in the opera and the theatre. By insisting on the sensuality and the physical dimension of the play and on its capacity to celebrate drama and all theatrical arts, Britten seems to have been at the centre of an aesthetic and ideological renewal which was to be carried on later by Jan Kott and Peter Brook, among others, thus making him an important figure in the history of the performances of Shakespeare’s masterpiece.

Abstract: Der Beitrag besch ftigt sich in vergleichender Perspektive mit der Entwicklung des türkischen Migrationsprozesses in Deutschland und Frankreich am Beispiel der jungen Generationen in Hamburg und in Bordeaux. Betont wird dabei, dass es mehrere Modelle der Migration gibt. Das erste stützt sich auf die Gemeinschaft, das zweite ist durch eine Marginalisierung der Jugendlichen gekennzeichnet. Das dritte Modell schlie lich ist der Klassiker“ der Integration. In jedem Land wird die Wirksamkeit dieser Modelle von unterschiedlichen (nationalen, institutionellen und lokalen) Rahmenbedingungen beeinflusst.

Abstract: As online trade and interactions on the internet are on the rise, a key issue is how to use simple and effective evaluation methods to accomplish trust decision-making for customers. It is well known that subjective trust holds uncertainty like randomness and fuzziness. However, existing approaches which are commonly based on probability or fuzzy set theory can not attach enough importance to uncertainty. To remedy this problem, a new quantifiable subjective trust evaluation approach is proposed based on the cloud model. Subjective trust is modeled with cloud model in the evaluation approach, and expected value and hyper-entropy of the subjective cloud is used to evaluate the reputation of trust objects. Our experimental data shows that the method can effectively support subjective trust decisions and provide a helpful exploitation for subjective trust evaluation.

Abstract:

Quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) models were developed to predict for CCR5 binding affinity of substituted 1-(3, 3-diphenylpropyl)-piperidinyl amides and ureas using multiple linear regression (MLR) and artificial neural network (ANN) techniques. A model with four descriptors, including Hydrogen-bonding donors HBD(R7), the partition coefficient between n-octanol and water logP and logP(R1) and Molecular weight MW(R7), showed good statistics both in the regression and artificial neural network with a configuration of (4-3-1) by using Bayesian and Leven-berg-Marquardt Methods. Comparison of the descriptor’s contribution obtained in MLR and ANN analysis shows that the contribution of some of the descriptors to activity may be non-linear.

Abstract:
It is very important to accurately measure the detection sensitivity of laser receiving equipment. Based on the traditional test method of detection probability curve, a new test method is proposed which works through measuring laser pulse one by one. Accurate measurement systems were constructed to improve the accuracy of laser energy measurement and energy regulation. A new data processing method of detection probability curve is put forward, which based on subsection statistics. The new data processing method in effect reduces the light source instability from 6.57% to 0.67%. These works improve the test accuracy of laser receiving detection sensitivity. It is a great support for the accurate evaluation of key technical indices of laser receiving equipment, which subsequently are done by models and simulation.

Abstract: 设计了一种用于新型非制冷红外焦平面阵列读出电路的低温漂、无电阻基准电流源。首先通过二阶补偿的无电阻带 隙基准电路得到基准电压$V_{_{REF}}$,然后将其接到一个NMOS输出管上;通过调节$V_{_{REF}}$使得该输出管工作在零温 漂区,最终产生一个与温度无关的基准电流$I_{_{REF}}$。在CSMC 0.5$\upmu$m CMOS工艺条件下,采用spectre软件进行了模拟验证。 测试结果表明,在0℃ $\sim$ 120℃的温度变化范围内,输出电流的波动小于4$\upmu$A;当电源电压为3.3V时,整个电路的功 耗仅为0.94mW。
An error estimation of the divergence of current

Abstract: According to the error translation rule, an error estimation of the divergence of current is given, and is applied to calculating the horizontal divergence of current in the equatorial center-eastern Pacific. The results show that the horizontal divergence of annual mean current in the equatorial center-eastern Pacific is steady, and the mean divergence is about 3.0×10-7 s-1. The error estimation is smaller than the usual error estimation, and hence the reliability is increased.
Integrating Webquest into Chemistry Classroom Teaching to Promote Students’ Critical Thinking  [PDF]

Abstract: The WebQuest is a student-centered, inquiry-oriented and project-based approach for teaching and learning that students use Web resources to learn school topics. This article reports on the design, implementation and evaluation of a WebQuest teaching approach for chemistry classroom teaching in improving the critical thinking of high school students. A pre- and post-test design was used where 4-month long-term WebQuest teaching approach with five chemical topics was offered to 50 high school students aged ranged from 16 to 17 years in Xidian Middle School attached to Xidian University in Shaanxi province of China. The California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) and the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST) were employed as data collection tools. Both CCTDI and CCTST scores of the participants showed significant differences (p < 0.05) between before and after WebQuest learning. The subscale scores of CCTDI showed significant differences in all aspects of dispositions toward critical thinking except open-mindedness and maturity. For CCTST subscales, the scores showed significant differences in analysis and evaluation but in inference. These findings add to the evidence that integrating Webquest into science classroom teaching might be an effective way to develop high school students’ critical thinking.
