Ortiz Soto,P.; Duelo Marcos,M.; Escribano Ceruelo,E.;
Pediatría Atención Primaria , 2011, DOI: 10.4321/S1139-76322011000600015
Abstract: the prevalence of mental disorders in children and adolescents range between 5% and 22%. the first contact is frecuently make with paediatricians and general practicioners. therefore, primary care physicians are going to have the responsibility to early detect and prevent them. althought a complete psychiatric evaluation is not a priority task for them, we consider that performance of it could be esential for a global understanding of this complex problems in childhood and teenager mental health. the aim of this article is introduce general considerations of psychiatric interview in childhood.
Obesidad
Duelo Marcos,M.; Escribano Ceruelo,E.; Mu?oz Velasco,F.;
Pediatría Atención Primaria , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1139-76322009000600008
Abstract: obesity prevalence is an increasing and alarming problem in the whole world and at all ages. important consequences are coming earlier and they are visible in childhood and adolescence: psychological problems, social acceptance, orthopaedic problems, high level of lipids, hypertension, sleep apnoeas... children's obesity is the main risk factor for adult obesity, what is related to more cardiovascular risk factors and to a decrease in life expectancy. although there are genetics factors, the rise of obesity is eventually in relation with life stile (more food calories intake and less practice of physical activity). treatment is difficult. it is mandatory a multidisciplinary strategy effort toward patients and their families. primary prevention is a key factor through encouraging a healthy life style.
Síndrome metabólico
Artola Menéndez,S.; Duelo Marcos,M.; Escribano Ceruelo,E.;
Pediatría Atención Primaria , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1139-76322009000600009
Abstract: children's obesity is the main risk factor for adult obesity, as well as for the metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases, which reduce life quality and expectancy. the metabolic syndrome is a clinical diagnosis that identifies a population that has high risk of cardiovascular diseases. insulin resistance appears as the common link and the trigger factor of metabolic impairments, modulated by genetic and environmental circumstances. the metabolic syndrome can be found in children, but at present it isn't clearly defined. the international diabetes federation's (idf) criteria for children and adolescents are used the most because of their easy management; waist measurement is its principal component. an international definition is needed to be able to compare different studies, and until this isn't accomplished, it shouldn't be diagnosed in children less than 10 years.
Consejos y recomendaciones generales para el paciente atópico
Escribano Ceruelo,E.; Duelo Marcos,Mar;
Pediatría Atención Primaria , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1139-76322009000300007
Abstract: there is a big controversial over the real efects of skin care in atopic dermatitis that we usually recomend to atopic patients. in general, there are few studies designed in this way and most of them are based in expert opinions, no control trials and the recommendations are in opposition. as a result to reduce the impact of the disease in the children life is advisable to speak friendly about this topics and add a self-care writing plan.
Phenomenological evidence for the energy dependence of the $η-η'$ mixing angle
R. Escribano,J. M. Frere
Physics , 1999, DOI: 10.1016/S0370-2693(99)00629-2
Abstract: A phenomenological analysis on various decay processes is performed using an energy-dependent $\eta-\eta'$ mixing angle scheme. Special attention is given to the radiative couplings between lowest-lying vector and pseudoscalar mesons. The agreement between our predictions and the experimental values is remarkable. This analysis opens a connection to two-angle fits in the $\eta-\eta'$ sector.
Study of the eta-eta' system in the two mixing angle scheme
R. Escribano,J. -M. Frere
Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1088/1126-6708/2005/06/029
Abstract: An analysis of various decay processes is performed using the two mixing angle description of the $\eta$-$\eta^\prime$ system, incorporating the link to the gluonic sector through anomalies. The agreement is excellent. For comparison with previous works, our results are expressed both in the ``octet-singlet'' and in the ``quark-flavour'' basis. It turns out that at the present experimental accuracy, the two angles are significantly different in the former, but not in the latter basis. The implications of our analysis for the Large $N_c$ $\chi$PT predictions are also discussed.

Abstract: objectives: to describe the possible association between demographic, social and economic characteristics of health areas in the autonomous community of madrid and utilization of public family practice facilities. methods: an ecological study was carried out using health areas as the unit of analysis. the information sources were official data on population statistics and the reports of the national institute of health for 1996 and 2001. indicators were income, mean household size, unemployment rate, the percentage of housewives, and the percentage of individuals with university education. the association between these indicators and utilization of public family practice facilities was analyzed using the spearman correlation coefficient. a multivariate linear regression model was also fitted. results: the consultation rate in public family practice facilities in madrid was directly associated with the percentage of housewives (r = 0.44), income (r = -0,697), and the percentage of individuals with university education (r = -0.72). in the multivariate linear regression model, 77% of the varian-ce in utilization was explained by income (48%), the percentage of housewives (19%), and average household size (9%). conclusions: the results show the relationship between social and economic factors and utilization of public family practice facilities and suggest the advisability of including demographic and socioeconomic factors in primary care planning.

Avances en Periodoncia e Implantología Oral , 2005, DOI: 10.4321/S1699-65852005000200004
Abstract: it is well known in our days that periodontitis can be considered as an infectious disease with certain features in common with other diseases, but with some other features that make it different and unique, what makes it difficult to reach a good knowledge of its etiopathogenesis and, in consequence, of its treatment. many advances in relation to the composition of the dental plaque have been done in the last years, with the aim of improving the treatments and being able to offer our patients a good clinical attention based on scientific evidence. the aim of this article is to review the literature and make emphasis on the new microbiological concepts which will give place to the future investigations about the diagnose and treatment of the periodontitis.
Communicating earthquake risk: mapped parameters and cartographic representation
J. M. Gaspar-Escribano,T. Iturrioz
Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (NHESS) & Discussions (NHESSD) , 2011, DOI: 10.5194/nhess-11-359-2011
Abstract: Earthquake risk assessment is probably the most effective tool for reducing adverse earthquake effects and for developing pre- and post-event planning actions. The related risk information (data and results) is of interest for persons with different backgrounds and interests, including scientists, emergency planners, decision makers and other stakeholders. Hence, it is important to ensure that this information is properly transferred to all persons involved in seismic risk, considering the nature of the information and the particular circumstances of the source and of the receiver of the information. Some experience-based recommendations about the parameters and the graphical representations that can be used to portray earthquake risk information to different types of audiences are presented in this work.

It is well known in our days that periodontitis can be considered as an infectious disease with certain features in common with other diseases, but with some other features that make it different and unique, what makes it difficult to reach a good knowledge of its etiopathogenesis and, in consequence, of its treatment.
