In the present article, I relate the way my teacher identity was constituted: my chilhood memories, my student history, the rearing process I went through, my experiences and even my meditations about the reality I live with. Since 2003, I am an elementary school teacher at Escola Padre Francisco Silva, a pubilc school of Campinas municipality. My presence in this rich and dynamic reality promotes turmoil such as: (i) my questioning about the fact that the education we receive in the university is not enough to deal with the complex processes lived everyday in a school, with real childen, each one with his/her own peculiarities; (ii) work with the heterogenity, the group and children self-image, the interpersonal relationships, the evaluation, the serial system, the limits and the possibilities. To be in a school made me realize that the possibilites of acting are ample when there are the wish to change and the social commitment from the people, who integrate the different common space of our school, to make this transformation. Education is a continuous process with the children and in the different meditation spaces that managers provide to the education professionals of our school. Abstract: the fibromyalgia syndrome (fms) is characterized by widespread chronic musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, disturbed sleep and associated symptoms. its increasing prevalence and life quality impairment of patients justify researches for its control. physical exercise (pe) is a relevant therapeutic tool among nonpharmachologic treatments options. it is important to mind the impact of fms and different therapeutics on health, here understood as a set of dimensions: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual and professional. this study aimed to identify fms patients' perception of relationship between pe and health. it used the theoretical methodological reference of social representation to study 22 women of a multidisciplinary project: physical education, nutrition, medicine and psychology. data analysis considered transcription of recorded semi-structured interview, and interpretation of patients' illustrations. there were improvements in physical dimension evidenced by pain relief. positive effects were also observed in emotional dimension, evidenced by self-esteem improvement, which appeared in the pictures. based on the theory adopted, it was possible to identify that patients recognize a positive relationship between pe and health.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to compare the scores of maternal self-efficacy for child diarrhoea prevention, between intervention and control groups, according to sanitary, social and demographic characteristics. A randomised clinical trial was carried out on 163 mothers of children under 5 years old. Data collection was conducted during two months, at two different moments (M0 and M1); at the moment M0 only the intervention group watched the educational video to promote self-efficacy for child diarrhoea prevention; at M1 (two months later) the scale was applied to both groups. In the intervention group, greater mean self-efficacy scores were obtained compared with the control group. The following variables showed statistically significant associations (p < 0.05) with maternal self-efficacy: age 35 or over; high school education; working outside the home; residence with 4 to 5 people; house not of brick or mortar; public refuse collection; piped water supply; consumption of mineral water; and public sewerage network. After use of the video “Diarrhoea: you can prevent it”, the maternal self-efficacy increased, proving that this strategy is able to assist the nursing staff in educational practices.

Abstract: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ) is a relatively new disease. MARX reported first cases in 2003. MRONJ relates to oral and parenteral bisphosphonates as well as to the so-called target cancer therapies but the list of medications only grows. Although MRONJ is a relatively rare condition, it can be associated to significant morbidity with feeding limitations and intense pain. More severe cases can lead to potentially life-threatening infections. Every patient initiating bisphosphonate and/or target cancer therapy must visit a dentist before starting medication because preventive measures for MRONJ are much more effective compared to surgical management of the lesions. Surgical resolution can be especially difficult to obtain in the coexistence of certain complication factors like wider bone exposures, history of nitrogen containing bisphosphonates use (mainly zolendronate) and immunodeficiency. Recently, researchers have given attention to laser therapy associated to photosensitive agents as a possible option to management of some MRONJ lesions. Our case report demonstrates the use of photodynamic therapy in a denosumab related lesion in the mandible. It seems that denosumab related lesions are more amenable to treatment and total resolution because of the marked differences between its chemical and metabolic characteristics when compared to bisphosphonates.

Online Brazilian Journal of Nursing , 2007,
Abstract: This study aimed at understanding the alterations in the fertility lived deeply by people with spinal cord injury. It was developed with 9 people with spinal cord injury, men and women, with paraplegy and quadriplegy. The data had been gotten between November of 2004 and May of 2005. The instrument used to collect the data was a semi-structured interview and they were analyzed descriptively in the light of the literature about the theme. The analyzed speeches made evident that there is a great diversification between the degree of the injury and the presence of ejaculation. Among the patients with complete injury, some of them related ejaculation and others did not. The same happened among patients with incomplete injury. Other alterations faced by men with spinal cord injury were related, for instance, retrograde ejaculation and reduction of the activity and mobility of the spermatozoon. On the other hand, among female patients, the knowledge that their fertility doesn’t undergo great damages was evident. Nursing is in an important position to promote health in this area, what requires a specific preparation and spontaneity to approach positive attitudes towards the new reality of life of the person with spinal cord injury.

Abstract: p558 stainless steel, nickel free, has been studied by this group with the purpose of verifying its viability for use in orthopedic implants. in previous works, it has been shown by stationary electrochemical techniques that this steel presents a similar behavior of that presented by iso 5832-9 with a corrosion resistance significantly higher when compared to iso 5832-1 stainless steel, usually known as f138 ss. in this work the temporal evolution of the interfase p558/nacl 0.11 mol l-1 was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, at the open circuit potential. the time intervals observed were 10 min. 1 day, 2 days and 5 days. it was observed that the passive film became more protective with the increase of time. the experimental data was modeled using the equivalent electrical circuit approach. this approach suggested an initial existence of a slightly protective passive film, which then permitted the formation of a more compact secondary film upon stabilization of the conditions.

Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia , 2003,
Abstract: OBJECTIVE: Noninvasive cardiac assessment of newborns and infants of women with systemic lupus erythematosus. The children had no congenital total atrioventricular block and were compared with the children of healthy women. METHODS: We prospectively assessed 13 newborns and infants aged 1 to 60 days, children of women with systemic lupus erythematosus and without congenital total atrioventricular block. These children were compared with 30 children of women who had no lupus or anti-Ro/SSA antibodies, and no risk factors for congenital heart disease either. Their age groups matched. The following examinations were performed: cardiological physical examination, electrocardiography, echocardiography, and signal-averaged electrocardiography. RESULTS: The statistical analysis showed no significant difference in ventricular function or in the cardiac conduction system between the groups. CONCLUSION: In regard to the conduction system and ventricular function in the absence of total atrioventricular block, no statistically significant difference was observed between the children of women with systemic lupus erythematosus and children of healthy women.
