DESARROLLO Y ESTRUCTURA DE LA ESCALA DIMENSIONAL DEL SENTIDO DE VIDA

Acta Colombiana de Psicología , 2011,
Abstract: in recent years, the interest for identifying specific factors that may influence our health has greatly increased, especially issues like meaning of life, happiness and pursuit of goals. from the humanistic and logotherapeutic approaches, the meaning of life is, in general, a key factor for a healthy life. in latin america, very few tests have been developed and validated to measure the meaning of life. the purpose of this research was to develop the dimensional scale of sense of life, understood as existential coherence and purpose in life. the development of the scale was performed by constructing the instrument to assess its structure and psychometric characteristics. 820 people, women and men, participated, aged 20 and 70 years. results suggest that the test has high internal consistency and a two-dimensional structure, one that assesses the existential coherence, and the other, the life purpose of people.

Migrantes transnacionales,políticas migratorias y el papel de la sociedad civil organizada
Díaz M,Luz Marina;
Sociedad y Economía , 2010,
Abstract: the purpose of is article is to make a reflection about global economic crisis impacts in the most fragile population: transnational labour immigrants, and characterize the profile which is being consolidated during this process. first of all references some theoretical models how has been proposed to explain international migration labour process. secondly, describes the main characteristics of this population and the entailment ways to global capital; them this article illustrates briefly somewhat immigration restrictive policies as economic and financial crisis effects on labour international migration flows. finally review the international immigrants organizations reply in face to restrictive policies.
Self-Access Language Learning: Students' Perceptions of and Experiences Within this New Mode of Learning Aprendizaje de idiomas mediante la modalidad de autoacceso: percepciones y experiencias de los estudiantes
Luz Edith Herrera Díaz
Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2012,
Abstract: With the aim of fostering autonomy in learning, both innovations, the self-access centre and the mode of learning derived from it, were adopted in the context of the study (Language Centre in the University of Veracruz, Mexico). Based on a case study, I have adopted a qualitative perspective to do this research, which aimed to know how the students undergoing this new English learning mode perceived it and what their experiences were within the no-class courses. The purpose of this article is to present the main themes that emerged after gathering the data for this study. It concludes with suggestions for a more contextualized and critical adoption of innovations in the English as a Foreign Language arena.

Females and Males Contribute in Opposite Ways to the Evolution of Gene Order in Drosophila
Carlos Díaz-Castillo
PLOS ONE , 2013, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0064491
Abstract: An intriguing association between the spatial layout of chromosomes within nuclei and the evolution of chromosome gene order was recently uncovered. Chromosome regions with conserved gene order in the Drosophila genus are larger if they interact with the inner side of the nuclear envelope in D. melanogaster somatic cells. This observation opens a new door to understand the evolution of chromosomes in the light of the dynamics of the spatial layout of chromosomes and the way double-strand breaks are repaired in D. melanogaster germ lines. Chromosome regions at the nuclear periphery in somatic cell nuclei relocate to more internal locations of male germ line cell nuclei, which might prefer a gene order-preserving mechanism to repair double-strand breaks. Conversely, chromosome regions at the nuclear periphery in somatic cells keep their location in female germ line cell nuclei, which might be inaccessible for cellular machinery that causes gene order-disrupting chromosome rearrangements. Thus, the gene order stability for genome regions at the periphery of somatic cell nuclei might result from the active repair of double-strand breaks using conservative mechanisms in male germ line cells, and the passive inaccessibility for gene order-disrupting factors at the periphery of nuclei of female germ line cells. In the present article, I find evidence consistent with a DNA break repair-based differential contribution of both D. melanogaster germ lines to the stability/disruption of gene order. The importance of germ line differences for the layout of chromosomes and DNA break repair strategies with regard to other genomic patterns is briefly discussed.
