Abstract: This study aimed to assess the resistance of grain from two varieties of maize landraces in initial breeding in Bom Jesus-PI, with respect to S. zeamais attack. Seeds of two maize landraces were used: purple straw maize from two different origins (São Paulo (SP) and Espírito Santo (ES)) and Peruvian purple maize. The experimental design was completely randomized with four replications. The data for each response variable were subjected to analysis of variance, applying the F-test (p ≤ 0.05), and when significant differences were found, there was a comparison of means by Tukey test (p ≤ 0.05). The statistical analyses were performed using the software SAS®. In a free-choice test and bioassay for evaluating the nutritional index (no choice test), maize varieties differed significantly by Tukey test and the cultivar SP was considered resistant, while the cultivars purple and ES were considered susceptible.

Abstract: considering the consumption as a set of sociocultural processes in which the appropriation and the uses of the products take place, this article proposes a historical analysis of the main theories about this topic, emphasizing the analysis that examined the effects of subjectivity on the "consumer society". it presents and analyzes the first contributions for this discussion in marx and in some authors from the frankfurt school; it discusses the theoretical developments that borrow from semiology a support for the understanding of the consumption behavior and it concludes with the presentation and analysis of some theories that consider the topic in the global context. the paper concludes with an exam of the importance of further studies about consumption, considering its multiple interfaces, economical, political, historical, social, cultural and psychological, and that raise, in the empiric exam, the concrete aspect of specific social spaces.

Abstract: there is a belief that interprofessional education will enhance attitudes toward teamwork and collaboration, leading to improved patient care upon graduation. in other words, the key objective of interprofessional education is to create undergraduate health science students who are prepared for interprofessional practice. this study sought to establish what the attitudes of undergraduates toward interprofessional education for aspects of collaboration and teamwork in the faculdade de ciências médicas e da saúde de juiz fora (fcms/jf). data were collected using the readiness for interprofessional learning scale (ripls) questionnaire survey and focus group interviews. the findings of this research indicate that undergraduate health science students are open to the notion of shared learning.

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to reflect on the deployment of an active teaching and learning methodology in practical settings in undergraduate pharmacy studies. problematization has been used as a teaching strategy aimed at training more critical, reflective professionals capable of working and learning together. a pharmacist with this profile is capable of working in the single national health system (sus) integrated with the social context and contributing to improving people's quality of life, as advocated by the national curriculum guidelines. for this, the assessment tools provided by the students were analyzed qualitatively, and the main weaknesses and strengths of the process were highlighted. it was possible to analyze the following aspects: practical settings, student orientation, retraining, and assistance. we conclude that, despite the fact that major challenges still remain, including inadequate teacher training, this educational model is consistent with the proposed goal

Abstract: In order to analyze the dynamics of sorption and energy needed to process of the pineapple(Ananas comosus), this study objectived determine experimentally the sorption isotherms and the energyinvolved in of the process of dehydrating the pulp and the peel of the pineapple, from different controlledconditions of temperature and relative humidity, and assess, among various models described in theliterature, which best represents the behavior of sorption of pineapple and the peel of the pineapple andits latent heat of vaporization of water in the products analyzed. As a result, it was verified that the modelthat best fitted the empirical data of sorption of pineapple was the Modified GAB model, with coeficientof determination of the 99.2%, while for the peel of the pineapple was the Modified Halsey model, withcoeficient of determination of the 98.6%. Already, for the isosteric heat, the empirical equation was foundto be suitable for pulp and peel pineapple, whose energy needs varied, respectively, of 2386.11 a 2913.93 kJkg-1, and 2411.665 a 2909.325 kJ kg-1.

Abstract: introduction: in the town of porteirinha, state of minas gerais, 23 human cases of visceral leishmaniasis (vl) in 1998 and 1999 were recorded. methods: a study was conducted involving the triad of action recommended for the control of vl. patients were treated and serologically positive dogs were euthanized quarterly. the pyrethroid insecticide α-cypermethrin was applied in the neighborhoods where human cases were recorded. results: a reduction in canine seroprevalence and sand flies occurred following the implementation of control measures, reflecting in a reduction in human cases of vl. conclusions: the results show the efficiency of such control measures when used in association.

Abstract: this work purposed the geospeleological mapping of the piriás cave, located in matozinhos - mg, brazil and the interpretation of its evolution. the cave shows a linear, plan-horizontal meandering form, the horizontal projection reaching 670m. the sections are predominantly irregular and rarely show rounded forms, characteristic of development under hydrostatic conditions. the following speleothems are present: cascades, curtains, minigours, coraloids, stalactites, anemolites and dogtooth calcite. the cave was generated at the contact, represented by a detachment fault, of carbonatic rocks of the upper proterozoic sete lagoas formation and the archean granitic-gnaissic basement. the evolution of the cave occurred in three phases, the phreatic, the epiphreatic and the vadose. its development, related to tectonic, stratigraphic and hydrologic factors, is still going on.
AVALIA O DE SAúDE E DA DOR NO PóS-OPERATóRIO DE IDOSOS SUBMETIDOS à CIRURGIA CARDíACA

Abstract: El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar la salud y el dolor en pacientes ancianos con insuficiencia coronaria sometidos a cirugía cardíaca. Esta es una investigación de carácter analítico, transversal, con enfoque cuantitativo. La recolección de los datos se hizo por medio de una ficha de evaluación fisioterapéutica usando también la escala numérica de dolor, con 70 pacientes ancianos sometidos a cirugía cardíaca en dos hospitales en la ciudad de Natal/RN, Brasil. El rango de edad más frecuente fue de 60 a 69 a os (61,43%), mayoría hombres (62,86%). En relación con el estado de salud el 61,43% de los sujetos tenían enfermedades preexistentes, siendo la de mayor distribución la hipertensión arterial (31.40%). El comportamiento del dolor fue moderado en el 1o y 3o días, y leve en el 2o y 4o días después de la operación. Por lo tanto, se constató que la mayoría de los pacientes ancianos sometidos a cirugía cardíaca eran del sexo masculino, que tenían patologías preexistentes, con la hipertensión arterial como la patología mas frecuente y con predominio de la intensidad del dolor moderado
PERCEP O DO SUPORTE FAMILIAR EM IDOSOS DE BAIXA RENDA E FATORES ASSOCIADOS

Abstract: Este estudio tiene como objetivo identificar la percepción del apoyo familiar a ancianos de bajos ingresos y los factores asociados. Es un estudio transversal con una muestra de 235 ancianos residentes en Jequié, Bahia, Brasil. El instrumento consiste en: datos demográficos y de salud, Mini Examen del Estado Mental, índice de Barthel y el Inventario de Percepción de Apoyo a la Familia. El análisis estadístico se realizó con un nivel de significación p<0,05, mediante prueba de Chi-cuadrado. Se verifican diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las medias del dominio Afectividad-Consistencia y las variables de presencia de secuelas (p=0,042) y discapacidad en las actividades de la vida diaria (p=0,033), entre las medias del domino Adaptación-familiar y el nivel de escolarización analfabetos (p=0,012), y entre el dominio Autonomía y las variables estado civil casado (p=0,013), la finalización del tratamiento (p=0,032) y la discapacidad en las actividades básicas de la vida diaria (p=0,011). Por lo tanto, es evidente que la mayoría de los pacientes de edad avanzada mostraron alteración en la percepción del apoyo familiar.
