State Variable Model for Considering the Parasitic Inductor Resistance on the Open Loop Performance of DC to DC Converters  [PDF]
Carlos Alberto Lozano Espinosa
Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2014.213006

This paper shows DC and small-signal circuit models for the PWM DC to DC buck, boost and back/ boost converters with the equivalent series resistance of the inductor. The DC voltage transfer function and the efficiency of the converter are derived from the DC model. Small-signal open-loop characteristics are derived from the small-signal model based on a state variable model. A design example proves the performance of the circuit and verification of the model.

Abstract: this article aims to contribute to discussions about knowledge transfer between the west and latin america, especially mexico. we seek to show the international and local efforts to foster the importation of germ theory during the 1880s. we also highlight the conceptual and material hurdles which stood in the way of the incorporation of this theory and bacteriology techniques at a time when they were still being developed in europe. two examples are given as evidence of the political motivations of mexican physicians in studying infectious diseases in that country.

Abstract: this article presents a comparative analysis of the approaches of institutional economics and walrasian economics. after reviewing the differences between both perspectives, it argues that institutional economics is an alternative, however incomplete, to general equilibrium economics. it compares the way both tendencies conceive the individual, knowledge, efficiency and the economic order, to point out the differences. some methodological discussion derived from these differences are indicated.

It has been reported that statins might be more beneficial in people with elevated CRP levels, and may be ineffective in people with low concentrations of both CRP and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.2 Furthermore, other authors have reported higher levels of CRP in women than in men.3 Post to: Cannotea Citeulike Del.icio.us Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Other articles by Dr Roberto Roberto Influence of drug treatment with antidepressants and antipsychotics on plasma urea levels Readers of this article also read: Role of aliskiren in cardio-renal protection and use in hypertensives with multiple risk factors Treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with monoamine amino acid precursors and organic cation transporter assay interpretation Influence of drug treatment with antidepressants and antipsychotics on plasma urea levels Antipsychotic monotherapy among outpatients with schizophrenia treated with olanzapine or risperidone in Japan: a health care database analysis 5-HTP efficacy and contraindications A review of the potential therapeutic role of statins in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease: current research and opinion Post intrastromal corneal ring segments insertion complicated by Candida parapsilosis keratitis Cancer stem cell theory: therapeutic implications for nanomedicine What are the roles of carers in decision-making for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis multidisciplinary care?
Abstract: Arab scientists were various centuries ahead of our current knowledge of the curative power of hemp (Cannabis sativa L., Cannabaceae). Modem scientific literature ignores their contribution on the subject. We review in this paper the therapeutic uses of the plant in Arabic medicine from the 8th to the 18th century. Arab physicians knew and used its diuretic, anti-emetic, anti-epileptic, anti-inflammatory, pain-killing and antypiretic properties, among others.

ABSTRACT Testing a simple soil degradation indicator in hysteretic soils from Valle del Cauca-Colombia. This study was carried out in 2001 on five molisol and vertisol soils of the CIAT, it was used a nested georeferenced net of 68 sampling points located under logarithmic scheme at two depths: 1- at the surface and 2- at a zone of less penetration. This was the base to make the cartography of a Compaction Index and the main physical soil properties. The Compaction Index was estimated with the combination of soil bulk density and sample soil gravimetric moisture using a relation matrix created specifically to this aim. With conventional methodologies was evaluated four categories of soil physical characteristics: 1- hydraulic properties using hydrauli
Reproductive Health in the Framework of Cooperation for Development
Itziar Lozano
Revista CIDOB d'Afers Internacionals , 2000,
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to review the way cooperation for development has dealt with sexual and reproductive rights by looking at the following three aspects of the question (with the case of Mexico as an example): the actors confronting one another over theissues under discussion (the international donor agencies and specifically the United Nations; the Vatican and the national churches; and the feminist movement); initiatives taking an empowerment approach; and a realistic, viable perspective on possible ways of establishing North-South cooperation relations. In relation to options on support and financing for reproductive rights projects, the resistance of cooperation agencies to incorporate the issue is analyzed. Then the paper discusses elements of a proposal for adoption of a global strategy, some possible pointsof departure, dilemmas faced by bodies receiving applications, and possible strategies for alliances between bodies in North and South.
Lozano, L.
Horticultura Argentina , 2011,
Abstract: The horticultural use of cactus pear (Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill.) has not been spread in Argentina. The young cladodes are rich in calcium (Ca) and fibers; and besides their nutritional qualities they have medicinal properties that help to control obesity, hyperglycemia in blood, cholesterol, etc. They can also be consumed raw in salads, but most people prefer them stewed and combined with other foods like eggs, peppers, shrimps, etc. and even in sauces. In this bibliographical review, morphologic and physiological aspects of the opuntias are considered in their ecological adjustment. The main factors that affect the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO2) and the accumulation of biomass are analyzed. They are: water content in the soil, air temperature, light and soil elements. The great adjustment of the opuntias to different climatic and soil conditions, granted by their morphologic and physiological characteristics should stimulate their culture with commercial aims, especially at the Calchaqui valley and in the Puna, helping the farmers with the culture and harvest techniques, and food preparations with a high nutritional value.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------El uso hortícola de la tuna (Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill.) no está difundido en Argentina, en general, ni en la provincia de Salta, en particular.
