Abstract: in education, pragmatism has become widely spread and it pervades everything from teacher training to the definitions of what and how to teach. we seek to highlight adorno's contributions to face this philosophical trend. the vitality of his analyses rests in the fact he addresses the core of the pragmatic tradition. he denounced how, in the administered society, the cultural formation has become semi-formation. the pragmatic spirit establishes the same" rationality in the relationship between subject and object, theory and practice, and feeds the phenomenon of aversion to theory, characterised by the atrophy of the autonomous thinking and the poverty of practice. however adorno sees the possibility of a resistance thinking that does not renounce to the objective referent and objective value of truth but is opposed to the collapse of reason. the reflexive experience in / on the educational work cannot depart from this thinking.

Abstract: professional training can be seen as a place where two problematics interact, to which we are sensitive and that, according to our opinion, are correlated: unemployment and roadway risk. we present a model of intervention adapted to the context of the professional training centers and the most relevant aspects which proceed from it, concerning the given problematics. although it is still an exploratory study, the meditation we have been making on this issue proves the pertinence of these actions aiming at road safety prevention, as well as its importance in terms of public health.

Abstract: this article is based on an investigation carried out among non-governmental local development organizations devoted to adult education in the north of portugal. in it, we question the theoretical relation which considers adult education as a factor of local development. the data show that in the case under study, although these organizations carry out varied and frequent activities of adult education, the way in which they are put into practice will compromise the previously enunciated causal relationship.

Abstract: Este artículo trata de una investigación realizada junto a organizaciones no gubernamentales de desarrollo local con actividades de educación de adultos, en el norte de Portugal. En él se trata el problema de la relación teórica que ve la educación de adultos como un factor de desarrollo local. Los datos muestran que, en el caso investigado, a pesar de que tales organizaciones realicen acciones de educación de adultos variadas y frecuentes, la forma como ellas están siendo puestas en práctica comprometerá la relación causal antes enunciada.

Abstract: This research presents a model that integrates trust, online risks and benefits, brand awareness/associations, perceived quality and explains how they impact on brand equity and brand loyalty in the context of internet banking. The research model estimation uses the PLS approach and applies FIMIX-PLS to segment the sample. The research findings show that the main difference characterizing the two uncovered customer segments lies in the place of residence. Thus, the impact of online benefits on trust in the service provided is stronger for the first segment than for the second. For customers of the second segment, confidence in the bank’s web site information leads to a better perception of service quality and this is very important to ensure loyalty to the brand.

Abstract: with quotations from other scholars of death, i have composed and i present some quick notes on death as the organizer of life. i hold the idea that death is needed for life to have meaning within this human search for completeness. i turn my eye towards a special situation relating to death: the reaction of individuals who witness and feel the death of one of their elders; people within the family or not who had taken on the task of caring for and being with the elderly person at the imminent end, and who humanely but powerlessly witness the time of solitary departure. a solitary death, but solely and particularly of that elderly person who was being cared for and of that person's natural end, as a human being.

Abstract: this paper analyses the main theoretical and methodological approaches to environmental education from a critical perspective within the historical dialectics. it problematizes the functional and organic formulations, produced in the field of theory of systems, and the holistic vision that dilute the political, social and cultural aspects inherent to the environmental complexity, establish an abstract unity among nature and society and, in some of its propositions, segregate the whole in relation to the parts. in the end, the relevant categories that define the emancipatory or transformative views of environmental education are brought forward in an approach that emphasizes citizenship participation, the re-signification of the environment, and the social transformation as structuring principles bound to the process of re-qualification of the human in the nature.
