Abstract: En este trabajo se expone brevemente la manera en que los principios de la ense anza pueden aplicarse en la confección de un programa didáctico para ser utilizado en la educación superior. Se concluye que la adecuación y vigencia de estos principios en el uso de las nuevas tecnologías de la educación evidencian su utilidad y aplicabilidad en cualquier forma de ense anza. Abstract: aim: to assessment biostatistics impact on intellectual environment of graduates. methods: a retrospective and descriptive study was made. a model of personal interview was designed to this objective aimed to graduates. its feature and content validation was submitted to expert criteria. information from quantitative variables was summarized by means of yearly average by graduate, used to make a comparison before, during or after specialty in study group. to sum up qualitative variables percentage was used. results: it was found that 54 (94, 7%), 49 (86%), 51 (89,5%), and 40 (70,2%) of graduate thought that specialty influenced very much on its scientific level, on its ability to perform research projects, to communicate results achieved, and to teach, respectively. there was an increase in yearly average of research projects performed by graduate (0, 08 versus 0, 32), of attendance to scientific events (0, 90 versus 1, 40), and of publications (0, 22 versus 1, 03). forty three graduates (76, 8%) had begun or performed some type of professional excelling after to study specialty. conclusions: specialty had impact on intellectual level of graduates.

Abstract: objective to evaluate the impact of biostatistics on the faculty in charge of this specialty and on the cuban public health. methods a retrospective and descriptive study was conducted. two personal interviews models were designed to gather information; one aimed at professors in this specialty and the other aimed at experts in the public health area. the suitability of both models was submitted to the expert criteria. gathered information was manually processed on the basis of a contents analysis. results the professors stated that being part of the faculty in charge of this specialty is one of the most important sources for their formation and development since this forces them to keep a high level of scientific, technological and teaching preparation as well as the improvement of their performance as both researchers and educators. on the other hand, the experts pointed out that the impact of this specialty on the public health in cuba is expressed in the quality of the statistical information provided at all levels of the national health care system, in the increased quality of research works carried out and scientific events held in this sector, in the improved performance of other health professionals as researchers and professors, in the creation of the academic commission and the national group of this specialty and also in the holding of scientific events in this field. conclusions biostatistics specialty had a positive impact on the explored spheres.

Abstract: Objetivo Evaluar el impacto de la Especialidad de Bioestadística sobre su claustro de profesores y sobre la Salud Pública Cubana. Métodos Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo. Se construyeron dos modelos de entrevista personal para la obtención de la información: uno dirigido a los profesores integrantes del claustro de la especiallidad y el otro a expertos en el área de la salud pública. Se sometió a criterio de expertos la idoneidad de ambos modelos. El procesamiento de la información proveniente de las entrevistas realizadas se efectuó manualmente a través de un análisis de contenido. Resultados Los profesores opinaron que el hecho de pertenecer al claustro de la especialidad constituye una de las fuentes más importantes en su formación y desarrollo que los obliga a mantener una elevada preparación científica, tecnológica y pedagógica, así como al perfeccionamiento de su desempe o como investigadores y docentes. Los expertos opinaron que el impacto de la Especialidad en la Salud Pública Cubana se aprecia en la calidad de la información estadística que se brinda en todos los niveles del Sistema Nacional de Salud, en el aumento de la calidad de las investigaciones y eventos científicos realizados en el sector de la salud, en la elevación de la calidad como investigadores y docentes de otros profesionales de la salud, en la creación del Comité Académico y del Grupo Nacional de la Especialidad, así como en la realización de eventos científicos propios de esta. Conclusiones La Especialidad en Bioestadística tuvo impacto positivo sobre las esferas exploradas. Abstract: OBJETIVO: evaluar el impacto de la especialidad de Bioestadística sobre la esfera intelectual de los egresados. MéTODOS: se realizó un estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo. Se construyó para este fin un modelo de entrevista personal dirigido a los egresados. Se sometió a criterio de expertos para su validación de aspecto y contenido. La información proveniente de variables cuantitativas se resumió mediante el promedio anual por egresado, que se utilizó para realizar una comparación antes, durante o después de la especialidad en el grupo en estudio. Para resumir las variables cualitativas se utilizó el porcentaje. RESULTADOS: se encontró que 54 (94,7 %), 49 (86 %), 51 (89,5 %) y 40 (70,2 %) de los egresados opinaron que la especialidad influyó mucho en su nivel científico, en su capacidad para realizar proyectos de investigación, para comunicar los resultados encontrados y para impartir docencia respectivamente, se produjo además un incremento en el promedio anual de proyectos de investigación realizados por egresado (0,08 vs 0,32), de asistencia a eventos científicos (0,90 vs 1,40) y de publicaciones realizadas (0,22 vs 1,03). Cuarenta y tres egresados (76,8 %) habían iniciado o realizado algún tipo de superación profesional después de cursar la especialidad. Abstract: La investigación constituye un elemento decisivo para el desarrollo de los diferentes contextos sociales, de ahí que se precise su inclusión en los planes de estudios de las universidades médicas cubanas. En el trabajo se realiza un análisis crítico de la situación actual de la ense anza de la investigación en las universidades médicas, y en la residencia de Medicina General Integral, que sirven de base a la propuesta de estrategia para la formación de investigadores para la Atención Primaria de Salud cubana -eslabón fundamental del Sistema Nacional de Salud- a través de un proyecto que transitará por varias etapas. Lo integra un grupo multidisciplinario de profesores e investigadores de la Escuela Nacional de Salud Pública y se extenderá desde 2007 hasta 2012. In present paper we make a critical analysis of present situation of research teaching in medical universities, and in residency of Integral General Medicine laying the foundations for strategy proposal for the researchers training in Health Primary Care, through a project of some stages.
