On upper chromatic number for SQS(10) and SQS(16)

Abstract: A mixed hypergraph is characterized by the fact that it possesses anti-edges as well as edges. In a colouring of a mixed hypergraph, every anti-edge has at least two vertices of the same colour and every edge has at least two vertices coloured differently. The upper chromatic number X is the maximal number of colours for which there exists a colouring using all the colours. The concepts of mixed hypergraph and upper chromatic number are applied to STS and SQS. In fact it is possible to consider a Steiner system as a mixed hypergraph when all the blocks are anti-edges (Co-STSs, Co-SQSs) or at the same time edges and anti-edges (BSTSs, BSQSs). In this paper the necessary conditions in order to colour Co-STSs, BSTSs and Co-SQSs, BSQSs are given and the values of upper chromatic number for Co-SQS(10), BSQS(10) and for BSQSs(16), obtained from a doubling construction, are determined.

Abstract: An ASQS(v) is a particular Steiner system featuring a set of v vertices and two separate families of blocks, B and G, whose elements have a respective cardinality of 4 and 6. It has the property that any three vertices of X belong either to a B-block or to a G-block. The parameter cb is the number of common blocks in two separate ASQSs, both defined on the same set of vertices X . In this paper it is shown that cb ≤ 29 for any pair of ASQSs(12).
Multifractal analysis of three-dimensional grayscale images: Estimation of generalized fractal dimension and singularity spectrum

Abstract: A multifractal analysis is performed on a three-dimensional grayscale image associated with a complex system. First, a procedure for generating 3D synthetic images (2D image stacks) of a complex structure exhibiting multifractal behaviour is described. Then, in order to characterize the 3D system, the theoretical calculation of the generalized fractal dimension and two different approaches for evaluating the singularity spectrum are presented.

Abstract: this paper aims to inquire into the davidson?s conception of akrasia exposed in how is weakness of the will possible? (1966). davidson aims at theorizing about the dark problem of akrasia, which is characterized as an aristotelian conception. part of davidson?s strategy for facing the difficulties of this subject is to propose a separation of the problem from akrasia, the morality, since he argues that akrasia is a problem of the philosophy of action, not a problem of moral philosophy. in this context, davidson suggests the existence of a principle which orients the performance of rational man: the principle of continence. however, how to do that principle someone?s own remains unanswered. we will try to show, how the thought of davidson about this subject has evolved.

Abstract: In this paper the Boltzmann equation describing electron flow ina semiconductor device is considered. The doping profile and the selfconsistent electric field are related by the Poisson equation. Time dependentsolutions to the Boltzmann-Poisson system are obtained byusing a finite difference numerical scheme. The collision operator ofthe Boltzmann equation models the scattering processes between electronsand phonons which are assumed in thermal equilibrium, and takesinto account the Pauli’s exclusion principle. Numerical results for onedimensional n+ n n+ silicon device are shown.
