Abstract: chemical investigation of hyptidendron canum stems resulted in the isolation of betulinic, ursolic and euscaphic acids. from the leaves were isolated 3β-o-β-galactopiranosilsitosterol, ursolic aldehyde, and mixtures of maslinic acid and 2α-hydroxyursolic acid, α and β-amyrin, uvaol and erythrodiol, sitosterol and stigmasterol, spathulenol and globulol. hexane and chloroform leave fractions as well as ursolic and betulinic acids showed antifungal activities against the yeast form of paracoccidioides brasiliensis.

Abstract: the fractionation of the antioxidant ethyl acetate extract obtained from the dried leaves of chrysophyllum marginatum afforded six substances identified as: a-amirin, gallic acid, myricitrin, quercitrin, (-)-epigallocatechin and (-)-epigallocatechin-3-o-gallate. this study contributes to the knowledge of the secondary metabolites produced by one more species of the brazilian flora, until now not investigated. moreover, this study allowed the identification of three substances with antioxidant activity previously detected in this species.

Abstract: The bioactive compound trans-3'-methylsulphonylallyl trans-cinnamate (1) along with the inactives iryelliptin (2) and (7R,8S,1'S)-delta8'-3',5'-dimethoxy-1',4'-dihydro-4'-oxo-7.0.2',8.1'-neolignan (3) were isolated from the leaves of Cinnamomum australe. The structures of these compounds were assigned by analysis of 1D and 2D NMR data and comparison with data registered in the literature for these compounds. The DNA-damaging activity of 1 is being described for the first time.

Inhibitory activity of compounds isolated from Polymnia sonchifolia on aflatoxin production by Aspergillus flavus

Abstract: polymnia sonchifolia, commonly known as ";yacon";, was originally cultivated at andes moutains in south america. recently, the specie attracted worldwide attention because of its wide range of uses, for example in the control of diabetes melitus, besides the antifungal and pesticidal compounds were found in the leaves. this study describes the identification of two flavonoids: 3', 5, 7 trihydroxy-3, 4'-dimethoxyflavone (compound 1) and 3', 4', 5- trihydroxy-7-methoxy flavanone (compound 2) and two sesquiterpenes lactones: enhydrin (compound 3) and a mixture of enhydrin and uvedalin (compound 4) isolated from polymnia sonchifolia leaves and their effects on the aflatoxin production by aspergillus flavus. the identification of the compounds were achieved by 1h and 13c nmr. all compounds were tested in different concentration, to evaluate the growth of aspergillus flavus culture and the production of aflatoxin. the compound 1, at the concentration 15 mg/ml, inhibited 25% of the aflatoxin b1 production (p<0.01). the compound 4 inhibited 34% and 76% of the fungal growth and afb1 production respectively. these results show that polymnia sonchifolia can be used for the development of agents to control aflatoxin b1 production by aspergillus flavus.

Abstract: Considering the education at distance as a teaching-learning modality which process of innovation results in institutionalized practices structuration/ desestructuration at the proper university, this article has as objective to consider that the education at distance is taken as a study s issue - in the direction of its understanding in deep - with sights of overcoming the resistances that elapse, sometimes, from the scarcity of knowledge about the subject. Abstract: O principal uso da embalagem de PET na ind ostria de alimentos na forma de garrafas. Os materiais usados no envase de gua mineral s £o o vidro e o pl stico e para suco de fruta incluem o vidro, o pl stico, a folha met lica e a embalagem multicamada. Em ambos os casos, o pl stico apresenta-se como uma boa alternativa devido ao seu baixo custo e peso e possibilidade de visualiza § £o do produto pelo consumidor. A embalagem de PET pode conter baixos n -veis de mon ′mero residual e olig ′meros de baixo peso molecular formados durante o processo de produ § £o e fus £o da resina, al m de aditivos, res -duos relacionados ao processo de convers £o e compostos de degrada § £o. Todos esses compostos possuem potencial de migra § £o para o produto em contato. Este artigo de revis £o apresenta uma abordagem sobre os olig ′meros presentes nas embalagens de PET, os m todos empregados na determina § £o destes compostos e o risco potencial que a exposi § £o a esses olig ′meros oferece ao consumidor.
A constitutional analysis of the right of action in the brazilian civil suit Uma análise constitucional do direito de a o no processo civil brasileiro

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the right of action in the Brazilian Civil Suit according to the Federal Constitution. This research highlights the crisis that the State, the Law and the Juridical Science have gone through go mainly after World War II. Proceduralism and substantialism are addressed in regard to their fundamental aspects as well as the existent dilemma between juridical positivism and jusnaturalism. Based on the theories that encompass the “third way”, this work attempts to show the importance of certain procedures for realizing values of constitutional principles that permeate the whole juridical order. It is concluded that the process is not only an instrument but also a dimension of law itself. The right of action as expressed in art. 5, Chapter XXXV of the Federal Constitution is eminently procedural and should be undertood as a right to process. O estudo objetiva a análise do direito de a o no processo civil brasileiro a partir da Constitui o Federal. Aponta a crise por que passam Estado, Direito e Ciência Jurídica ,especialmente após a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Procedimentalismo e substancialismo, bem como jusnaturalismo e positivismo jurídico s o apresentados em seus pontos fundamentais. Com fundamento em teorias que comp em uma “terceira via”, busca demonstrar a importancia dos procedimentos na realiza o dos valores consubstanciados em princípios constitucionais que se irradiam por todo o ordenamento jurídico. Conclui que o processo n o é apenas um instrumento, mas uma dimens o do direito. O direito de a o expresso no artigo 5o , XXXV da Constitui o Federal é eminentemente processual e deve ser entendido como direito ao processo.
