Design and Implementation of Hybrid Light and Microwave Switches Based on Wavelength Selective Switch for Future Satellite Networks  [PDF]

A hybrid switching node structure with light and microwave links is proposed, which is applicable to the future data relay satellite systems, aiming at the development trend of coexistence of light- link and microwave-link in the future. An experimental system for the light and microwave hybrid switching node based on wavelength selective optical switches (WSS) and optical transceiver modules, is established. It is shown by our experiment that this hybrid switching node can realize the dynamic bandwidth allocation and wavelength routing while the bit error rate of light link is less than 10?12, which provides a method for solving the hybrid switching problem of light-link and microwave-link on the future data relay satellite systems.

Space information network is used for real time acquiring, transmitting and processing the space information on the space platform, which provides significant communication services for communication, navigation positioning and science exploration. In this paper, the architecture of Software Defined Space Optical Network (SDSON) based on cloud platform is designed by means of Software Defined Optical Network (SDON) and cloud services. The new architecture combining centralized and distributed management-control mechanism is a multi-layer and multi-domain architecture with powerful computing and storage ability. Moreover, reliable service and unreliable service communication models employed in the space information network are proposed considering the characteristic of Disruption/Delay Tolerant Network (DTN). Finally, the functional verification and demonstration are performed on our optical experimental network platform.

Abstract: In this paper, we construct MDS Euclidean self-dual codes which are ex-tended cyclic duadic codes. And we obtain many new MDS Euclidean self-dual codes. We also construct MDS Hermitian self-dual codes from generalized Reed-Solomon codes and constacyclic codes.
Characterization Analysis of UDSM LVTSCR Under TLP Stress

Abstract: The characteristics of a low-voltage triggering silicon-controlled rectifier (LVTSCR) under a transmission line pulse (TLP) and the characteristics of high frequency are analyzed. The research results show that the anode series resistance has a significant effect on the key points of the snapback curve. The device characteristics can fit the requirements of a electrostatic discharge (ESD) design window by adjusting the anode series resistance. Furthermore, the set-up time of the ESD has an influence on the turn-on voltage of the LVTSCR. A steep rising edge will cause the turn-on voltage to increase. The parasitic capacitance of the device for different voltage biases and frequencies determines the capacitive impedance, and its accuracy calculation is very important to the ESD design of high frequency circuits. Our research results provide a theoretical basis for the design of an ultra-deep sub-micron (UDSM) LVTSCR structure under ESD stress and the improvement of TLP test technology.
An optimized high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for benzoylmesaconine determination in Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi, aconite roots) and its products

Abstract: After extraction, a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determination of BMA was conducted on a RP-C18 column by gradient elution with acetonitrile and aqueous phase, containing 0.1% phosphoric acid adjusted with triethylamine to pH 3.0.A distinct peak profile was obtained and separation of BMA was achieved. Method validation showed that the relative standard deviations (RSDs) of the precision of BMA in all intra-day and inter-day assays were less than 1.36%, and that the average recovery rate was 96.95%. Quantitative analysis of BMA showed that the content of BMA varied significantly in processed aconite roots and their products.This HPLC method using BMA as a marker compound is applicable to the quality control of processed aconite roots and their products.Plants of the genus Aconitum are widely distributed across Asia and North America. For over two thousand years, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata (Fuzi, aconite roots) has been used in China to relieve joint pain and treat rheumatic diseases [1]. Studies demonstrated some pharmacological effects of aconite roots, such as analgesia and anti-inflammation [2,3]. Processing aconite roots is necessary to remove the poisonous diester-diterpene type Aconitum alkaloids including aconitine, mesaconitine and hypaconitine. For example, before used in proprietary herbal products, the toxicity of these alkaloids can be lowered by hydrolysis into much less poisonous benzoylaconines which are the products of deacetylation of the 8β-acetoxyl [4]. Previously, we established a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for determining these three toxic Aconitum alkaloids [5]. By comparing their peak areas, we found that benzoylmesaconine (BMA, Figure 1), one of the benzoylaconines, was more abundant than the other two alkaloids in most processed aconite roots [5]. Abstract: Hard X-ray diffraction enhanced imaging (DEI), which is based on a synchrotron source and monochromator-analyzer-crystal system, is an effective method for imaging X-ray phase shift. Utilizing an analyzer crystal with high angular sensitivity of micro-radian, DEI can measure the transmitted, refracted and scattered X-rays when projecting onto a sample. It dramatically improves the contrast and spatial resolution of the resultant images. At the topography station of Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facilities (BSRF), we implemented DEI method in guinea pig cochleae imaging and acquired a series of DEI images. Based on these images, the apparent absorption and refraction images were calculated. The DEI images revealed the holistic spiral structures and inner details of guinea pig cochleae clearly, even including the structures at the cellular level, such as the static cilia of hairy cells and the limbus of Hansen cell. Due to the advantages of high contrast, high spatial resolution and distinct edge-enhanced effect, DEI method promises extensive applications in biology, medicine and clinic in the near future.
Electronic transport properties of an (8, 0) carbon/silicon-carbide nanotube heterojunction

Abstract: A two-probe system of the heterojunction formed by an (8, 0) carbon nanotube (CNT) and an (8, 0) silicon carbide nanotube (SiCNT) was established based on its optimized structure. By using a method combining nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) with density functional theory (DFT), the transport properties of the het-erojunction were investigated. Our study reveals that the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) has a higher electron density on the CNT section and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) mainly concentrates on the interface and the SiCNT section. The positive and negative threshold voltages are +1.8 and -2.2 V, respectively.
Toxicity of copper, lead, and cadmium on the motility of two marine microalgae Isochrysis galbana and Tetraselmis chui

Abstract: Computer assisted movement tracking was used to characterize the motility of two marine microalgae, Isochrysis galbana and Tetraselmis chui, and to investigate the toxicity of Cu, Pb, and Cd on motile percentage, curvilinear velocity, average path velocity, straight line velocity, linearity, straightness, and wobble. Except for motile percentage, all other motility parameters di ered significantly between I. galbana and T. chui. Based on relative motile percentage data, the median e ective concentration (EC50) of Cu on the motility of I. galbana and T. chui was 31.4 and 1.3 mol/L, respectively, while for Pb it was 37.8 and 10.9 mol/L and for Cd it was 121.6 and 37.8 mol/L, respectively. Compared to I. galbana, T. chui was more sensitive to all tested metals. The toxic e ect of the heavy metals on motility exhibited the following decreasing order for both species: Cu > Pb > Cd. Our results indicate that I. galbana and T. chui motility is sensitive to heavy metals and can be used as an indicator for toxicology bioassays.

Abstract: This paper presents a new test data compression/decompression method for SoC testing,called hybrid run length codes.The method makes a full analysis of the factors which influence test parameters:compression ratio,test application time,and area overhead.To improve the compression ratio,the new method is based on variable-to-variable run length codes,and a novel algorithm is proposed to reorder the test vectors and fill the unspecified bits in the pre-processing step.With a novel on-chip decoder,low test application time and low area overhead are obtained by hybrid run length codes.Finally,an experimental comparison on ISCAS 89 benchmark circuits validates the proposed method.
Effect of Hematoporphyrin Monomethyl Ether-Sonodynamic Therapy (HMME-SDT) on Hypertrophic Scarring

Abstract: Objective The aim of the present study was to explore the potential for hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether-Sonodynamic Therapy (HMME-SDT) treatment of hypertrophic scars within rabbit ears. Methods 60 white rabbits were randomly divided into five groups: 1) untreated controls, 2) lesioned, 3) lesioned + HMME, 4) lesioned + US (Ultrasound), and 5) lesioned +HMME-SDT. After induction of a lesion upon the ears of the rabbits, hypertrophic scars were assessed at 14, 28, 42 and 56 days post-lesion +/? treatment. Assessments consisted of visual inspection in the change of the skin, scar formation pathological morphology by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining technique with optical microscopy, calculation of a hypertrophic index, fibroblastic density measures, and observation of collagen changes in the scar tissue by Van Gieson's (VG)Stain along with calculation of collagen area density. Results With continued HMME-SDT treatment there was a gradual improvement in all parameters over the duration of the experiment. The lesion-induced scars of rabbits receiving HMME-SDT treatment were soft, the size was reduced, hyperplasia was flat and the color pale. The fibroblasts and collagens were reduced and the collagens were light red, sparse and orderly. The hypertrophic index was reduced, since the fibroblastic density was lowered and collagen area density was decreased. Conclusion HMME is an effective sonosensitizer and the combination of HMME-SDT treatment can exert significant benefits in reducing the formation of hypertrophic scars.
