How Should We Manage China’s National Parks? A Comparative Analysis between National Parks in China and the US  [PDF]

Abstract:
This paper analyses the differences between policies in Chinese and American national parks, including the role of communities, the permitting and reservation system, and camping. It also describes additional recom-mendations related to developing community-based tourism, the e-commerce market, and data statistics tools. What is the best way to support communities economically at the boundaries of national parks? The American experience shows that tourism and ecotourism can be an important economic opportunity for local communities in China. Communities can provide tourism services. They can bring in revenue by operating facilities like hotels, restaurants, groceries, gas, and transportation services. While establishing Chinese National Parks, the government will need to pay close attention to developing and supporting economic development in and near parks, with a special emphasis on building strong relationships with communities. By comparing case studies of American and Chinese national parks, this paper will explore how communities can drive economic development.
Functional Ramifications for the Loss of P-Selectin Expression on Hematopoietic and Leukemic Stem Cells

Abstract: Hematopoiesis is a tightly regulated biological process that relies upon complicated interactions between blood cells and their microenvironment to preserve the homeostatic balance of long-term hematopoietic stem cells (LT-HSCs), short-term HSCs (ST-HSCs), multipotent progenitors (MPPs), and differentiated cells. Adhesion molecules like P-selectin (encoded by the Selp gene) are essential to hematopoiesis, and their dysregulation has been linked to leukemogenesis. Like HSCs, leukemic stem cells (LSCs) depend upon their microenvironments for survival and propagation. P-selectin plays a crucial role in Philadelphia chromosome -positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). In this paper, we show that cells deficient in P-selectin expression can repopulate the marrow more efficiently than wild type controls. This results from an increase in HSC self-renewal rather than alternative possibilities like increased homing velocity or cell cycle defects. We also show that P-selectin expression on LT-HSCs, but not ST-HSCs and MPPs, increases with aging. In the absence of P-selectin expression, mice at 6 months of age possess increased levels of short-term HSCs and multipotent progenitors. By 11 months of age, there is a shift towards increased levels of long-term HSCs. Recipients of BCR-ABL-transduced bone marrow cells from P-selectin-deficient donors develop a more aggressive CML, with increased percentages of LSCs and progenitors. Taken together, our data reveal that P-selectin expression on HSCs and LSCs has important functional ramifications for both hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis, which is most likely attributable to an intrinsic effect on stem cell self-renewal.
Improvement of Optical Reactivity for Nano-TiO2 Film by Nitrogen ECR Plasma

Abstract: Nitrogen ion was implanted into the nano-TiO2 film surfaces by electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma modification to improve the optical reactivity in visible-light region for nano-TiO2. Diagnosing the N2 plasma by optical emission spectroscopy (OES) was applied to the process of plasma modification. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used for analysis of the binding of element after plasma modification. It is shown that the surface modification was caused by excitated N. The injecting of N2 and N2 leads to the increase in the dissociative interstitial state N in the films. The doped N makes for TiO2-xNx appearing in the TiO2films. TiO2-xNx forms the impurity energy state in the TiO2 energy band gap and reduces the energy band gap. This is the main reason leading to the red shift of absorption edge.

A New Rapid Triangulation Method of Space Closed Point Cloud

Abstract: Space point cloud triangulation is the research focus of 3D Stereo Vision field and the triangulation of space closed point cloud is difficult. In this study, firstly, divide the space closed point cloud into two or more parts separately triangulate, then extract the edge of each part. Finally, suture all parts according to the edge information. Completed the steps above, it can reach the purpose of the triangulation of the whole space closed point cloud. This study solve the problem that triangulation of the space closed point cloud in the process of 3D reconstruction which has practical significance. Experimental results show that the algorithm is simple, fast and the quality of triangular mesh is good.
Synthesis and Field Emission Properties of Carbon Nanowire-Single Walled Carbon Nanotube Networks Hybrid Films  [PDF]

Abstract:

Carbon nanowire (CNW)-singlewalled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) networks hybrid films with a large area (~400 mm2) are grown on molybdenum (Mo) layers by microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition system. The Mo layers, which were deposited on Al2O3 ceramic substrates through electron beam evaporation deposition, were pretreated by a laser-grooving (LG) technology. Furthermore, the surface morphology, micro-structure and field emission properties of these samples are characterized by scanning electron microscope, Raman spectra, and field emission I - V measurements. ACNW-SWCNT networks hybrid film was formed in the surface of Mo layer, but the laser etched area (linear pits array area) the distribution of the CNW-SWCNT networks density is lower than the un-etched area CNW-SWCNT networks distribution density. The diameter of the CNWs and SWCNTs, respectively in the 8 - 15 nm and 0.9 - 1.5 nm range, and the length of CNW-SWCNTs ranges from 1 μm to 4 μm. The growth mechanisms of the films were discussed. Effects of LG pretreatment on surface morphologies and microstructure of the hybrid films were investigated. The field electron emission experimental results shown that the ture on field as low as 1.6 V/μm, and a current density of 0.15 mA/cm2 at an electric field of 4.3 V/μm was obtained.

Abstract: Based on the current situation of rural educational informationization, my study found that the boost of rural elementary and secondary school’s educational informationization needed the cooperation of higher normal universities and local education administrative department. The construction of “IT education community” is the key to step off the predicament. The practice application and effect in Gaoping City further proved that the cooperation project broke the bottleneck of rural elementary and secondary school’s educational informationization.

Abstract:

The periodic table of elements is arranged based on a series of regular polyhedron. The stability of inert gas atoms can be explained by the distribution of electrons, as well as their motion and magnetic force structure. A magnetic force regular octahedron is proposed. It is a unique configuration that best satisfies the convergence of electrons moving in the same direction within regular polyhedra. In the case of an electrostatic force crust, the formal electron spin accounts for the crusts intrinsic magnetic moment exceeding the speed of light. If one is to consider that the electron has a magnetic outer layer and an electrostatic inner layer, then the question can be solved and abovementioned inference can provide the basis for magnetic force and momentum for the regular octahedron model. The electron periphery has twenty-petal adsorptive substances; the existence of adsorptive substance causes the magnetic force greater than the electrostatic force. Each electronic shell in the regular polyhedron is in accordance with the electron configuration of periodic table of elements; the kinetic track of each electron is a surface of regular polyhedron. The magnetic properties of iron, cobalt, and nickel can be explained by the regular dodecahedron electronic shell of an atom. The electron orbit converged from reverse direction can explain diamond. The adsorptive substances found in atomic nuclei and electrons are defined as magnetic particles called magnetons. The thermodynamic magneton theory can be better explained when it is analyzed using principles of thermodynamics, superconductivity, viscosity, and even in the creation of glass. The structure of the light is a helical line.

Ferromagnetic Calculation of Terbium Dysprosium and Holmium with Polyhedron Electron Shell  [PDF]

Abstract: Based on the regular polyhedron model of multi-electronic atom combined with the Bohr hypothesis, the following supposition is put forward: the electron momentum multiplied by the inscribed sphere radius of edges of each regular polyhedron is equal to the Planck constant. The relationship between saturation magnetization rates and Planck constants is determined, and the ferromagnetism of atoms is obtained from regular dodecahedron and regular hexahedron. Then, terbium, dysprosium, and holmium saturation magnetization rate are obtained from electronic regular polyhedron configuration. Derivation of matter wave formula is from thermodynamics, avoiding over speed of light.
A Novel Antihepatitis Drug, Bicyclol, Prevents Liver Carcinogenesis in Diethylnitrosamine-Initiated and Phenobarbital-Promoted Mice Tumor Model

Abstract: Bicyclol, an antihepatitis drug developed by Chinese scientists, has been shown to prevent the malignant transformation induced by 3-methylcholanthrene and 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate in WB-F344 rat liver epithelial cells. This study provides further evidence on its role as a chemopreventive agent in experimental mice with diethylnitrosamine- (DEN-) initiated and phenobarbital- (PB-) promoted liver carcinoma. Liver tissue and serum were collected. In the two-stage model of hepatocarcinogenesis in mice, oral administration of bicyclol (100, 200 mg/kg) before DEN injection showed significant reduction in the incidence of hepatocellular foci, nodules, or carcinoma. Histopathological examination revealed that there was no hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and hepatoma formation in the mice pretreated with bicyclol (200 mg/kg) at week 20, while the mice treated with DEN/PB developed 33.3% HCC and 55.6% hepatoma. Furthermore, the serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and α-fetal protein (AFP) in serum significantly increased in the DEN/PB model group in comparison with the control group. Pretreatment with bicyclol showed a marked reduction in the above condition. Bicyclol also decreased the expression of AFP and proliferating cell nuclear antigen level in the liver tissue and attenuated the decrease in body weight. In this study, we also found that 10 weeks after stopping the administration of PB and drugs, the control and bicyclol-treated (200 mg/kg) animals showed no HCC and hepatoma formation at the time of termination whereas DEN/PB-induced mice developed 100% hepatoma and 50% HCC. These results further indicate that bicyclol has the chemopreventive potential for liver carcinogenesis induced by carcinogens.
