Abstract: Translation studies stem from comparative literature and contrastive analysis. It involves the transfer of messages between two different language systems and cultures, and Munday (2001,p.1) notes that translation ‘by its nature’ ‘is multilingual and also interdisciplinary’. Translation subjects are the texts in various publishing forms for different levels of reader; moreover, the language systems, linguistics, communications studies and cultural studies are also involved in research subjects, which all contribute to the difficulties of translation fulfilment.

Abstract: With the explosive development of wireless communication and low power embedded techniques, Body Area Network (BAN) has opened up new frontiers in the race to provide real-time health monitoring. IEEE 802 has established a Task Group called IEEE 802.15.6 inNovember 2007 and aims to establish a communication standard optimized for low power, high reliability applied to medical and non-medical application for BANs. This paper overviews the path loss model and the communication scheme for implant-to-body surface channel presented by IEEE 802.15.6 standard. Comparing with the standard scheme where BCH (Bose-Chaudhuri-Hochquenghem) code is employing, we propose a new coding solution using convolutional code operating with Bit Interleaver based on the properties of implant-to-body surface channel. To analyze the performance of the two Error Correct Coding (ECC) schemes, we performed simulations in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and power consumption on MATLAB and FPGA platform, respectively. The simulation results proved that with appropriate constraint length, convolutional code has a better performance not only in BER, but also in minimization of resources and power consumption.
Metabolic abnormalities in adolescents with polycystic ovary syndrome in south china

Abstract: Anthropometric measurements and biochemical parameters were evaluated in 128 adolescents with PCOS and their age- and BMI-matched controls.The prevalence of pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome in adolescents with PCOS was 11.7%, 46.9%, 29.7%, 22.7% and 4.7%, respectively. 16.3%, 74.4%, 67.4%, 39.5% and 14% of the PCOS subjects with BMI > 85th had pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome, whereas 9.4%, 32.9%, 10.6%, 14.1% and 0% of the PCOS subjects with BMI < 85th had such disturbances.Adolescents with PCOS in South China had more metabolic abnormalities than their age- and BMI-matched non-PCOS counterparts. Obesity could worsen insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia and metabolic syndrome in PCOS adolescents.Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrine disorder that affects about 6%-8% women worldwide [1]. The consequences of the PCOS extend beyond the reproductive axis; women with the disorder are at substantial risk for developing metabolic abnormalities [2]. Abstract: Polystyrene/SiO2 composite nanoparticles (PS-g-Silica) were prepared by an in-situ surface-initiated nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization. After SiO2 nanoparticles were treated by thionyl chloride (SOCl2), peroxide initiation groups were immobilized on their surfaces through a reaction with tertiary butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP). Then surface nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization was initiated and polystyrene was grafted on the surface of SiO2 particles. Composite nanoparticles were characterized by IR spectra, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and thermogravimetry (TGA) and the results indicated that the surface-initiated nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization could be successfully used to synthesize well-dispersive PS/SiO2 nanocomposites.
Relationship between plant species diversity and patch characteristics in a marsh in the Sangjiang Plain, China —Using Yaluhe farm as an example

Abstract: Based on Quick Bird satellite image data, the present study examined small-scale herbaceous community patches in the marsh of the Sanjiang Plain and measured patch characteristics such as the area, perimeter and shape by GPS. The coenological characteristics of the patches were investigated using quadrat method, and the vascular plant species were recorded using transect method. A total of 219 plant species were recorded, which represents 12.2% of the vascular flora in Heilongjiang Province. Our results showed that species number S correlated with patch area and perimeter; richness index (R) correlated with patch perimeter; Simpson index (D) correlated with patch area and perimeter/area; Shannon-Wiener index (H′) correlated with patch area, perimeter and perimeter/area; Evenness index (Jsw) correlated with perimeter/area. Both S and R have significant difference between different size of patches. Plant diversity in the small-scale herbaceous communities tended to increase with the patch area and perimeter. We concluded that edge effects and the habitat heterogeneity of the patches are important in determining the number of species. The relative smoothness of the patch edges also affects the plant diversity of the patches. The richness of plant species in the marsh in the Sanjiang Plain is highly sensitive to the small-scale patches, which continues to play an important role in preserving plant diversity in the local area.

Simultaneously, a successful brand extension can enhance the reputation of the original brand, and expand the brand value. But how can enterprise take a good brand extension? Through establishment of a dynamic model of brand extension under the brand relationship context, investigating the interaction mechanism between brand relationship and extension, and base on that, we developed a strategy model of interaction and improvement of brand relationship and brand extension.
Performance Analysis of Multiband Impulse Radio UWB Communication System Based on PSWF  [PDF]

Abstract: To improve the data transmission rate and use spectrum flexibly, a new spectrum allocation method for Multiband Impulse Radio UWB (MB-IR-UWB) is proposed in this paper based on the band-limited and orthogonal characteristics of Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function (PSWF). The system model is built and the bit error rate (BER) formula is deprived by binary time hopping pulse position modulation under additive white Gaussian noise. Moreover, the system performance is analyzed via MATLB simulation. The results indicate that MB-IR-UWB system performance of BER is the same with single-band UWB. However, in the proposed scheme the data can be transmitted in multiple parallel bands, which enjoys much higher transmission rate. In addition, PSWF pulse duration affects the BER performance.

Abstract: In the paper, we will discuss the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Equation which is used to model shallow-water waves with weakly non-linear restoring forces and is also used to model waves in ferromagnetic media by employing the method of variable separation. Abundant exact solutions including global smooth solutions and local blow up solutions are obtained. These solutions would contribute to studying the behavior and blow up properties of the solution of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili Equation.
