A Report on the Breast Development of Healthy Females of the Right Age in Different Regions  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To observe the state of breast development of the healthy females of the right age in different regions. Methods: We randomly chose 1540 of 18 - 25 years old unmarried or married healthy females of the right age from both Guangxi and Yunnan provinces separately for regular checkups. Also we took notes on these females’ height and chest circumference and other indexes. According to the perfect chest circumference of Chinese females in relation to height, namely this relational expression—Standard Circumference = Height × 0.53, we evaluated the basic state of breast development of females from the two areas and then presented related research conclusions. Results: After the statistical analyses on every index of 1540 cases of healthy females of the right age from the two areas each, we found that the breast development of healthy women of the right age in Yunnan is more perfect than that of Guangxi, and in comparison to every index, there is a remarkable difference, and that is, P < 0.01. Conclusions: The state of breast development of healthy females of the right age is different in different areas. Some breasts are especially big; some are a little bit smaller; some are proper and some are relatively flat; also some breasts are strong while some are pendulous. In a word, there are some differences. These differences exist not only inChinabut also in every part of the world. The female whose chest circumference tends to be more close to the perfect is more likely to be more confident and more active, and also her life is full of sensibility and charm.
Effect of thickness on structures of ultrathin diamond-like carbon films

Abstract: Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films with different thickness were deposited by filtered cathode vacuum arc (FCVA). Vis-Raman and spectroscopic ellipsometry were employed to analyze the structure of DLC films. The wavelength of Vis-Raman is 514.5 nm. Experimental results show that structures of DLC films are affected by film thicknesses. When the film thickness increases from 2 to 30 nm, the G-peak position (G-pos) shifts to higher wavelength, the intensity ratio I D/I G and the extinction coefficient Ks decrease. It is indicated that the content of sp3 bond increases with film thickness. However, when the film thickness increases from 30 nm to 50 nm, I D/I G and Ks increase. The content of sp3 bonds decreases with film thickness.

Abstract: Using cross-sectional survey data on prices, station and market characteristics for 730 gasoline stations in the Greater Saint Louis area, we estimate a switching regression model of station decisions. We employ a binary probit choice model to study a station’s decision to enter a contract relationship with greater control from the upstream refinery, or a contract relationship with greater degree of independence, as a function of market and station characteristics. We then estimate stations’ pricing decisions with self-selectivity corrections for the station’s contract decision. We show that incorrect inferences about retail gasoline station’s pricing behavior would result if the endogeneity in the choice of con-tract type were treated as exogenous condition in the estimation.

Abstract: According to the characteristics and requirements of urban vegetable logistics and distribution, the optimization model is established to achieve the minimum distribution cost of distribution center. The algorithm of artificial bee colony is improved, and the algorithm based on MATLAB software is designed to solve the model successfully. At the same time, combined with the actual case, the two algorithms are compared to verify the effectiveness of the improved artificial bee colony algorithm in the optimization of urban vegetable distribution path.
Evaluation Model of Emergency Evacuation Capacity of Subway Station Based on Grounded Theory  [PDF]

In order to evaluate the emergency evacuation capacity of subway stations, the data collected were analyzed based on grounded theory, and an evaluation model of emergency evacuation capacity was constructed by combining the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Finally, 12 secondary indicators (categories) and 4 primary indicators (main categories) were obtained, among which the primary indicators were management factors, emergency response, construction factors and personnel factors. From the weight value calculated by analytic hierarchy process, we can see that management factors and emergency response have great influence on the emergency evacuation capacity of subway stations. Therefore, we should focus on management factors and emergency response to improve the emergency evacuation capacity of subway stations.
The Vasorelaxant Mechanisms of a Rho Kinase Inhibitor DL0805 in Rat Thoracic Aorta

Abstract: Rho-kinase has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The Rho-kinase signaling pathway is substantially involved in vascular contraction. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the vasorelaxant effects of Rho kinase inhibitor DL0805 in isolated rat aortic rings and to investigate its possible mechanism(s). It was found that DL0805 exerted vasorelaxation in a dose-dependent manner in NE or KCl-induced sustained contraction and partial loss of the vasorelaxation under endothelium-denuded rings. The DL0805-induced vasorelaxation was significantly reduced by the nitric oxide synthase inhibitor Nω-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester, the guanylate cyclase inhibitor methylene blue and the cyclooxygenase inhibitor indomethacin. The voltage-dependent K+ channel blocker 4-aminopyridine remarkably attenuated DL0805-induced relaxations. However, the ATP-sensitive K+ channel blocker glibenclamide and Ca2+-activated K+ channel blocker tetraethylammonium did not affect the DL0805-induced relaxation. In the endothelium-denuded rings, DL0805 also reduced NE-induced transient contraction and inhibited contraction induced by increasing external calcium. These findings suggested that DL0805 is a novel vasorelaxant compound associated with inhibition of Rho/ROCK signaling pathway. The NO-cGMP pathway may be involved in the relaxation of DL0805 in endothelium-intact aorta. The vasorelaxant effect of DL0805 is partially mediated by the opening of the voltage-dependent K+ channels.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the refined oil distribution plan which includes the various vehicles models-single oil-multiple gas stations. This paper puts forward the dynamic time window of oil supplementation based on every moment, and establishes the mathematical model of the refined oil distribution plan, using C language, taking various circumstances of the model into account to find the optimal solution through several operations. This process can make the refined oil distribution plan and the distribution route is more reasonable. At the same time, the distribution cost is lowest. Through the analysis of the experimental results, the validity and algorithm of the model are proved.
Convergence and Optimal Complexity of Adaptive Finite Element Methods

Abstract: In this paper, we study adaptive finite element approximations in a perturbation framework, which makes use of the existing adaptive finite element analysis of a linear symmetric elliptic problem. We prove the convergence and complexity of adaptive finite element methods for a class of elliptic partial differential equations. For illustration, we apply the general approach to obtain the convergence and complexity of adaptive finite element methods for a nonsymmetric problem, a nonlinear problem as well as an unbounded coefficient eigenvalue problem.
Accuracy of generalized gradient approximation functionals for density functional perturbation theory calculations

Abstract: We assess the validity of various exchange-correlation functionals for computing the structural, vibrational, dielectric, and thermodynamical properties of materials in the framework of density-functional perturbation theory (DFPT). We consider five generalized-gradient approximation (GGA) functionals (PBE, PBEsol, WC, AM05, and HTBS) as well as the local density approximation (LDA) functional. We investigate a wide variety of materials including a semiconductor (silicon), a metal (copper), and various insulators (SiO$_2$ $\alpha$-quartz and stishovite, ZrSiO$_4$ zircon, and MgO periclase). For the structural properties, we find that PBEsol and WC are the closest to the experiments and AM05 performs only slightly worse. All three functionals actually improve over LDA and PBE in contrast with HTBS, which is shown to fail dramatically for $\alpha$-quartz. For the vibrational and thermodynamical properties, LDA performs surprisingly very good. In the majority of the test cases, it outperforms PBE significantly and also the WC, PBEsol and AM05 functionals though by a smaller margin (and to the detriment of structural parameters). On the other hand, HTBS performs also poorly for vibrational quantities. For the dielectric properties, none of the functionals can be put forward. They all (i) fail to reproduce the electronic dielectric constant due to the well-known band gap problem and (ii) tend to overestimate the oscillator strengths (and hence the static dielectric constant).

Abstract: Halogenated aluminates AlCl3, applied as efficient chlorination reagent for hydroxyl groups of substitution alcohols is described. Primary and secondary benzylic alcohols could be transformed into corresponding aromatic halides with almost complete conversion and unique selectivity. As chlorination reagent, AlCl3 has an incomparable advantage over others, such as low material cost, commercial availability as well as convenient product isolation.
